I'm 19, single , and going to school.
I've never worked before since I spent 40+ hours a week on my studies. I run on my free time not for fun but for Competition because I'll keep running for the rest of my life. I'm currently training for a Half Marathon then a Marathon, Ultra Marathon, ect.. My major is Chemical Engineering which I'll have to take a lot of Math, Physics, Computer, and Chemistry. The only help I get for college is scholarships, grants, and the FASFA.
No school loans = No. I'm not like those who spend money like crazy but everyone has a different opinion.
Have a nice day. :)

Nah, not really stereotypical look anymore. Gaming reaches out to such a large audience these days its amazing. My parents play games online. I thought it was crazy to find out my late GP played online games. Heck I didn't even think that old man knew how to operate a computer. Game playinest, facebookinest, old man ever. |

I'm 20 and just got myself a job 2 days ago (not my first one) but at least it's not a seasonal job!
I honestly feel old since i'm the type of person who grew up with and "old soul" music, movies (not that I can name them off my head but know i've seen most of them dating back to the 60's), philosophies, and all.
I'm glad to see player of 25 and up still hanging around us next gens! We still need other role models even if it's from video-game connections!

I'm surprised at how many people are either mid-20's or 17.
I'm right in the middle of that at 21 Don't drink or smoke...I like being sober, but lost a lot of friends to drugs and alcohol when they turned 21 themselves (I was the last of my friends to hit 21)
I spend a lot of time around people that are 24-26 though (roommate is 26 and a PC gamer with his girlfriend), so I fit in with the majority of you guys. My ex that I was with for 3 years turned 25 this year...I definitely don't feel my age at all.
Although I think it's funny. I doubt a lot of the people here would actually be friends with the people here IRL, it's kinda the cool thing about online gaming/MMO's, the fact that the majority of us get along and have this one thing in common that we all play together.
I do know a certain player who only recently turned 16 though, and he's one of the best players in the game. He doesn't sound his age at all though.

Any place with really strong manufacturing is going to need skilled welders. Idk much about Nevadas weld schools but ill tell you the Midwest ones are good... until you try to get the new guys outta their comfort zone then I ended up teaching them how to weld all over again.
Comes down to what you want: structural, oil rigging and pipelining, factory welding or really specialty stuff.
Id hang off every word your old duffers are saying though, they'll teach you the most useful tricks.

Even in my 1st year of high school I asked myself What will I do in these 4 years of high school. When I was young I played a lot of different sports. Then one time I did PE as a sophmore and I went so fast in the mile that the pe teacher who was a Basketball coach he told me to join Cross country. My first day of running brutal, 12 miles, dead tired, and was about to give up but then a voice in my head said "Dont give up, you wanted to run then you have to put in effort everyday."
Now that Im in college 4 years later, I did it. Both track and cross country and Ive excelled that it changed my life. Now Im competing for half marathons to prepare me for marathons and ultra marathons. Do I regret running ? Nope at all.
Dealing with depression is something difficult. I used to be depressed 4 years ago but now Im like why was I sad back then.
If you have a bad day then I would suggest you to talk to a friend, go to church, or go for a walk and dont think of absolutly anything and just look at the nice sky, birds chirping, and the flowers blooming.

I was gonna tell the kid the same thing. I made it through life ok i guess. I do often wonder how different things would have went if I was more open and dealt w same problems differently. I kept and still keep everything in. No one knows what truly goes on inside my head and trust me you don't want to. Handicaps many aspects of life. Guess I have my kids to try to make sure they don't make same mistakes I did. I'm one hell of an encyclopedia of what not to do in life. Not a bad person, I have a higher moral standards than most people I meet, but really would like to have done a few things different. |

What events are you doing for Track ? It depends whether you are a sprinter or distance. In Track I was mostly mid distance. My best are; 800 meters- 2 minutes and 11 seconds. 3200 meters ( 2 mile)- 11 mintues and 11 seconds. And the 4 by 4 sometimes if someone didn't show up.

Funny story; when I played on my original character in Chromosome, Dust514 was the bane of her existence. I was pretty much banned from talking about the game or playing around the girls. Then one day I come home and there she is playing on my character. Couple hours later she makes her character & I had to make my own PSN account (to this day I regret using her PSN, id have at least 10 million more SP). Then I come home from work a few days later & there's a new PS3 & TV set up right next to hers. Whoever says video games break-up relationships is full of ****.

I have personality disorder. Anxiety is a problem. I take Lexopro. Have recently been down and out with physical problems and low on meds. I snapped back recently with physical therapy. Amazing how muscles can not hurt as much as they really are, but can cause mental instability and mimic neurological problems. Im actually playing the game more now. Still mot all that much though.

Ok my turn to answer this.
I just turned 37, and am the proud owner of a 3 year old puppy that I got to help me out with getting over an on again off again type relationship that went off again permanently. I have worked for a firewall company in tech support for nearly 7 years, and love my car (2008 Ford Mustang named Summer's Shadow). Car also bought to help with getting over aforementioned relationship.

23 here. Working and finishing college. Looking at graduate school.
Didn't know most of us suffered through depression and anxiety...
I've been heavily drinking since I was 18 when I lost my girlfriend at the time. Kept my distance from relationships. Dated many, many women since. I've probably held two relationships since then, but I end them due to my depression and attachment issues.
Looking forward to law school. Maybe get a dog to keep me company. I have a female friend who "keeps me company"; we hang out, play LittleBigPlanet. Basically what couples would do without actually being a couple. She *might* be pregnant and I'm shitting bricks.
I enjoy playing Dust since most of the players are pretty cool people.
It's a nice distraction from a messed up life.
Raging alcoholic.
I play in a pink suit because it's the fabulous thing to do.

CCP should either invest in relationship counseling or encourage women to date guys and break up with them leaving them broken shambles. That seems to be a pretty common thread.
I will be 50 in a month. I have to keep saying that because I don't feel much different than I did when 25. About depression, the best thing I ever did was just reconcile myself to the fact that I had it and that it was all just brain chemistry. Before that there was a vicious circle of "I feel bad, life must be bad, I feel worse". Now it is "I feel bad, so what, it will pass".
Any other tidbits of wisdom I might give I will withhold because you young bastards won't listen anyway. I wouldn't have either. Be kind to your knees though.
Because, that's why.

Can you give me the link to the jackets. I saw some newer ones but they cost a whooping $500.
One time we were doing sprint workouts for us distance runners in Track and the football players were talking **** and Im like why are you listening to your ipod and running a slow pace. In my opinion XC and Track are the toughest sports because when you run there are no brakes, no flags, and especially no half time.
The event that I excelled in track the most from my sophmore to senior year was on the 800 meters. I went from 2 minutes and 30 seconds to 2 minutes and 11 seconds in my senior year. I was 1 ugly second from braking Varsity 2:10. In the end I was really proud and I was the top 5th fastest in our school and top 3rd for league.

I don't smoke or drink but i'm the type of person that can tell you how to make friends and be social but never do so myself so if I have kids or get married (pretty much gave up on like/loving anyone) I wouldn't want them to take my route.

In Track I was mostly mid distance. My best are; 800 meters- 2 minutes and 11 seconds. 3200 meters ( 2 mile)- 11 mintues and 11 seconds. And the 4 by 4 sometimes if someone didn't show up. I remember taking AP World History = best teacher, class, and passed the class with a B-. Nice I was a sprinter and last I remember a 100, one time was close to high record breaking ( note this was when I cared about most things and friends) but I can't give details since it was during my freshman year in HS and i'm now 20

If dedicated to training (her of course) then i'd say run then food or vice virsa, and chill at a park afterwards to end on a good note.
If needs a break and feels stressed out (up to you to figure out) then the walk on the beach or park ( I probably wouldn't recommend both) which going to eat is optional since I don't know your time schedule.
PLEASE do note that I AM posting this for a socialistic type of guy or multiple back-up chances in case you feel you messed up.
Also i'm single because I gave up after getting rejected once and now am extra cautious of people (or more so than I already majorly was) so it lead me to study others actions and sayings and body, etc. so you can trust me at least 40%!
Good luck on whatever you try and also watch her body actions yourself (I don't mean stare creepily but watch for subtle hints) to see if your doing too much or to see when she's the most comfortable or uncomfortable at any time.
I can drone on all day like i'm trying to rise the young ones in my family again (was always in house so when family came over I was the one to get attacked and helping them stay away from trouble) but HAVE CONFIDENCE in YOURSELF!!

Take her to play pool. It's somewhat casual, and it's an activity (movies are BAAAAAAD first dates). Beach and park are nice, but an activity like playing pool is better. You want to do something together you can TALK about. If you go for a walk, it is purely about whatever you think to say. An activity gives you common ground to start the conversation - makes it a lot easier to talk and therefore a lot more fun and therefore a better chance at a second date. Let us know how it goes!
EDIT: going for a run is not a good idea; it will be hard to talk and the point of a first date is to earn a second. If she doesn't get to know you, and you don't get to know her, no second date will happen.

Pool, aka Billiards.
From personal experience this as a first and/or second date is incredibly rewarding. Between the conversation topics, verbal and non-verbal cues, you can learn alot about the person you're showing an attachment/investment to.
Plus you can be cheesy as hell, or a total shark or even a castlenova if you play billiards enough
Please Lone-wolf responsibly. Calling for nerfs because you died is bad, cause its usually your own stupid fault.

I don't smoke or drink but i'm the type of person that can tell you how to make friends and be social but never do so myself so if I have kids or get married (pretty much gave up on like/loving anyone) I wouldn't want them to take my route.
I feel ya man. I kinda steer away from being social (although these Dust forums seem to bring it out of me). Mostly because my morals get in the way from allowing anyone too close. As soon as I hear someone start bragging about getting drunk and cheating on their other, or catch them in lies, or just plain show their level of being a degenerate in this world I feel those are the enemy and I protect my beliefs. I don't need someone to hang out with bad enough to put up with people not raised right. Those guys could be the same people who talk my daughters in to doing things I'd kill over. I was a passive person too long. I made a complete 180 and stand up to whoever/whenever. The world is a horrible place if you look beyond your bubble. Its only gonna get worse unless you do something about it.
Living this way shut me out to a lot of the world, and I understand you wouldn't want your kids to live in a similar way, but I'd also want them to not turn into a lot of other people who feel there is no consequence for their actions. Don't get me wrong just because I have certain beliefs doesn't mean I haven't put myself into many places I shouldn't have been. I've seen most of what hell has to offer. I know who the enemy is and how bad the world can really get. I gained intel into the enemy and know what to look out for and keep my kids from. Better than being nieve i guess, but paints the most depressive picture of how the world actually is. There is no pill or therapy for that. With eyes wide open thats just how life is. Sad but true. |

I got lucky and found, or to be more correct, was found by my wife. We started dating at 15 and got married at 19 and have been married for over 7 years now. She's the best thing that ever happened to me, I don't deserve her be no means. But we are the exception and not the norm....
I married my best friend and have never regretted it.

Yesterday I was talking to this girl who is my friend and we have a lot in common. Most is in running and shes a nice person and all.
My question is where should I take her ?
All I could think of is going on a walk on the beach, go to the park, or go out on a run and after that Eat alot of food!!!
Ive never asked a girl before so this will be my first time. :)
Play pool ? Im sorry but I dont know what play pool is. The run workout is something I have in plan but not like Oh run fast. No it wil be a slow run and talk pace. :) Pool, aka Billiards.
I've never dated. XD not that Im planning to. Ive always been single lol

Something like this, or some other table top game where you can talk without being out of breath.
