I've been dealing with depression on and off for as long as I can remember, have a history of mental illness on both sides of my immediate family so YAY genetics. Something that helps me in the more mild times anyway is practicing some serious self reflection. Learn your symptoms and try and do things to counteract it before it gets really bad. Like if you feel extra sluggish in the mornings and don't want to get out of bed force yourself to get up and do some exercises or go for a walk, or if you have zero apatite make yourself eat anyway, no nutrients will make your brain go way out of wack faster and harder. Again this is just **** that helps me and depends entirely on your situation.
As for the "going nowhere" it's simple, DON'T SWEAT THAT ****!, I turned 34 a couple months ago and even now I'm only slightly narrowing down the list of "**** I want to be when I grow up", If there's something you're interested in study up on it. If you do something for a couple years and decide you're bored, **** it find something else. People saying you need to plan a life and career in high school are full of ****. If you find something you really love doing you'll be 1000x better at it in 2 years than you would be if you spent a 1000 years at a job you hate.

Just chill out, you'll make it
