Ok my turn to answer this.
I just turned 37, and am the proud owner of a 3 year old puppy that I got to help me out with getting over an on again off again type relationship that went off again permanently. I have worked for a firewall company in tech support for nearly 7 years, and love my car (2008 Ford Mustang named Summer's Shadow). Car also bought to help with getting over aforementioned relationship.

Take her to play pool. It's somewhat casual, and it's an activity (movies are BAAAAAAD first dates). Beach and park are nice, but an activity like playing pool is better. You want to do something together you can TALK about. If you go for a walk, it is purely about whatever you think to say. An activity gives you common ground to start the conversation - makes it a lot easier to talk and therefore a lot more fun and therefore a better chance at a second date. Let us know how it goes!
EDIT: going for a run is not a good idea; it will be hard to talk and the point of a first date is to earn a second. If she doesn't get to know you, and you don't get to know her, no second date will happen.

The run workout is something I have in plan but not like Oh run fast. No it wil be a slow run and talk pace. :)
Something like this, or some other table top game where you can talk without being out of breath.
