Destiny is ******* god awful... It's essentially Mass Effect with 10% of the actual content with some Halo on the side.

At least this game is unique, has replay value, almost endless customization, and the matches are actually substantial and take real effort to win.

This game rivals Star Wars Battlefront for **** sake. If it had a fleshed out story it would be even better than SWB.

All Destiny is managing to accomplish is making me want to play Mass Effect again... and conning $60 out of me. I probably won't be buying the DLC expansion pass for it. Such a mediocre game...

Who designs a RPG with level up based on LUCK!?

PvP in a shooter is supposed to be a grind.

However PvE is NOT. Mulling over the same 4 maps, checking the same locations for the same items.. is NOT good RPG design. A good adventure RPG is supposed to keep you on your toes, not letting you know what to expect.

In Dust skill is accumulated by the actual time you spend playing. In Destiny it's BASED ON LUCK with time spent being almost irrelevant, because in 2-3 weeks you'll already have the best kind of armor, and you'll realize that's how you level up is by upgrading your armor with ****** RNG based item drops.

Did I mention skill doesn't even matter in PvP unless Bungie feels like releasing the "Iron Banner" because normal Crucible mode has level advantages disabled? Yeah. It's a copy paste of Halo with RPG elements.

Try doing that on the Bungie forum. You'll be welcomed by an angry mob of fanboys. Or your post will get completely ignored because it's built more like Twitter than an actual forum.

Grinding is what RPGs are made for. Stop trying to say grinding is the probem.

If I decide to replay Mass Effect I will happily grind through wave upon wave of Geth because there are endless ways to explore the universe while you do so.

Dust is like that except where it shines is the character customization which is nearly endless.

The only thing Destiny outperforms the rest with is... uh... fancy graphics and flashy **** I guess?

If you want to talk about spawns then yeah Destiny should totally implement the fantastical spawn system that's in Ambush .

After watching some Destiny videos on youtube I-¦m finding it hard to compare those two games together. If only we had DUST514 on PS4.

If dust was on ps4, i would actually think about returning. Destiny is just blah. I prefer pvp. The pvp in destiny has wizards, robin hoods and teen titans. Seems too comic book for my tastes.

More like the wizards are Biotics from Mass Effect, Exos are Turians, the Vex are Geth... most of the things in that game were completely ripped off of that game.

Yeah CCP is just gonna try to suck even more money out of you than Sony, might as well not even play Legion.

Haters everywhere. Plenty of people can, and have, said a hell of alot worse about Dust514.

Even with all of Destiny's flaws, Dust has had over 2 years of content and it's still worse than a fresh Destiny.

Dust gives you a sense of identity. There are endless roles to choose from, and taking the one you choose to the max level puts you a cut above the rest and makes you an asset to your team/corporation. The actual depth of the gameplay and the endless replay value of always having more roles and weapons to unlock really makes Dust stand out above the rest.

Dust actually has concrete social features that get you access to everything the game has to offer.

Destiny has NO team chat, no text chat, and overall clumsy and annoying social features that force you to go on a computer and look up "clans" to join just so you can play the endgame 6-man raid, or ANY of the strikes and missions that you really can't beat by yourself.

You might wanna get rid of the wise from your name seeing as you don't understand the difference between endless and it just taking a long time to get there. And at most there's like 10 main roles, then it's mostly just divided by your racial preference, and half of them can be summed up with...slayer. You can also get rid of 97% of ALL fitting options (this means every single module, suit, and weapon combination available, which there are at least in the tens of thousands, if not hundreds) based on them being complete trash for the intended suit and role.

I'll just throw one thing out there - MAG.

iirc released in 2008 and was blamed for dated graphics by CoD marketing crew (ign, gamespot, etc) while setting the gold standard for team based FPS that won't be surpassed for the next 10 years.

Now flash forward to 2014. Destiny is a flashy toy catering to teenagers on new consoles. DUST - poorly executed attempt at persistence team based shooter.

Apparently destiny is really grindy & repetitive unlike dust... oh wait.......

Oh yeah because "just divided by racial preference" is a completely unnoticeable difference right? Like there's NO difference between a Gal and Amarr Assault, or a Cal and Min Scout or Sentinel.

And that's not true at all. Even Sentinels have fitting options. For example I've been considering skilling into shield recharge for my Amarr. The other classes have WAY more freedom to run things like biotics and equipment.

If the Dust SP grind leaves you feeling unsatisfied, that sounds like a personal problem. QQ more.

I am not a big destiny fan, however, you are clueless. Look at the amount of people playing the games. Dust is a ghost town and has been for some time. When a game only averages 5k online at a time, that is pathetic. Destiny is not having such low player counts. Fan Fest killed Dust long before Destiny even arrived. PS, Destiny is currently the most played online game at the moment. While I really do not like Destiny, I am a realist. The game is being played by gobs of people. Quit trying to fool yourself that your favorite game is the only game going and the whole world will soon be playing it.

I have no illusion that DUST has a low player count. That's not the point.
The point is that, that count is almost unchanged, despite everything.

In a couple of months something new will come out and everyone will play that, Destiny will degrade to a small loyal fanbase and slowly fade away, but you and me will still be here discussing wether or not this next big thing has successfully killed DUST.
