I hope Junko finds a way to resolve the RP rationally, and with out massacring them all or using a silver bullet on the situation.
I think what players need to take out of Dust 514 lore is being a clone grants you nothing more than immortality and perhaps some experience......not supernatural skill.

i have to agree with Adamance here, something happened midway: reading through the rp again,
i felt like someone decided to make themselves overpowered or something, detract a bit from the inital running from a force you cant stop( noting the cuthulu mythos from lovecraft.)
yes a character is now dead, and other mortals are fighting something even we couldnt fight, but we can have a chance to fight back but that was planned waaaay farther into the RP. ( im talking 2, 3 parts from now, if this can live that long)
for now lets focus on getting back to the se'terra in one piece so i can bring up the second part of this rp, the next few posts i thought of are collecting dust in my harddrive :/ |

For the most part I think the majority in this RP are new to it (or at least I assume they are). Hopefully they will figure it out. Also Hunter is the one running this thing so it is their call on post quality. You don't want to discourage them from RP'ing.
If Hawk doesn't post soon I'll get something up so that this thing can finish, I'm with True on this right now, I have mostly lost interest in this rp (not your fault Junko). |

i know, i'll give hawk one day to write something, if not, then write in his stead, we head to the se'terra and thats when we'll find some time to rest up, give me something to work with.
this rp is about finding strength when your "strength" had dissappeared (your immortality), in the face of an idea or a truth, a reality, or a group of people who have broken your idea of power, exploring the human element long forgotten by our immortality. i think the beginning of the rp was a fascinating one because it showed a weakness Rp-wise was hard to comprehend due to our status as clone soldiers.
when the next part of the rp arrives, please try to stick to that Human element. as of now (part one) we are not immortal, we're just people caught in a ruthless game of cat and mouse while in a forest so thick and confusing, the map given to us showing the way out becomes utterly useless; either we find a way out on our own like we always do and die, or we try to band together and have a small, but real chance of surviving the ordeal.

Mmmmm I only say this from experience. I've been in those shoe, making characters OP, and RPed with them.
In my mind , again I say this only as advice and not a harsh critique, two things need to done to improve as RP is like a skill of sorts.
First is a humanisation of characters. Yes you live in a futuristic society full of technological wonders and unnatural role and ideals....but fundamentally your character is human and as a human you are often no better or worse than anyone else. You are not a special mercenary and all you have over a regular soldier is experience borne of....well dying and even then this technology is new.....
Secondly awareness is required. You have to be reading each other players RP for the changes in the plot that they make. You have to be aware of what they describe, and what their characters do so as not to create inconsistencies.
E.G- relevant to this RP. Junko expressly said I believe at the start of this RP that you are likely to be in your leisure clones, these clones are the established equivalent lore wise to baselining. They have no superhuman attributes. Or if not you are in a stock clone, these are featureless clones with superhuman attributes. Additionally she established that Implants were down and that Shadow Warriors now hold all the power.
Now I like the desperate struggle plotline as much as anyone else......but that's all it should have been.
My personal choice for a play for this RP would have been to bugger off as fast as possible, barely controlling my fear of loosing...certain...characters..... only stopping if someone I had a duty to required my help. Screw the rest of you, it's not my job to baby sit you and I can't keep serving God if I am dead.
Besides a few examples, and this is harsh critique, few characters present (from my perspective as a reader with high standards) seemed human to me or very aware of what was going on.
Instead when all seemed hopeless everyone stepped up to another level, took action, and forced that action on everyone else.
Please do Junko this plot line is interesting and has merit..... who wouldn't want to eliminate immortal clones in New Eden? But Shadow Warriors? What are they and who sent them for what reasons to a civilian station. Moreover how did they know you'd all be there/ how did they get you to show up to an obvious trap?
