Scouts continue to blight these sacred forums with their presence... My only question is why? Why do we let these wallhacking invisible midgets continue to live... Trust me when HF Charlie hits and they realize that medium suits are viable again they will be screaming for nerfs on them as well as the poor heavies. These parasites on this game will not stop until they can kill any other suit. Join me in stomping this infestation out if you see a scout in FW kill it regardless of blue or red and harass the midget till he biomasses. END THEIR REIGN OF TERROR AND B*TCHING NOW...

Scout users have been actively working with CCP Rattati & Logibro to do away with the "brick scout" and bring them in-line with where they should be in terms of balance (ie, not Super-Assault Dropsuits).
Sentinels on the other hand, are refusing to admit that there is a problem, and have insisted that everything is "working as intended", despite a heavy (hehe) amount of evidence to support the contrary. Not to mention, that they continued to cry and used astonishingly hypocritical arguments to nerf the Remote Explosives.
Sentinels are the new Uprising 1.7 Tankers.

Last I checked more medium suits were complaining about REs then heavy suits also if i'm not mistaken REs got buffed unless you don't consider 1750 damage a buff

I distinctly remember a mass movement from Sentinel users demanding that REs be nerfed. Though one would also consider 1250HP damage a nerf.
Also, I fail to see how the nerfs are so severe that it warranted the creation of this thread. You'll still be able to fit nearly all PRO Modules, and in the case of the HMG you'll simply need to actually manage your heat-sink.

You are wrong on many levels... The QQers are not sentinels. They are FOTM chasers...Now the true Beta/Uprisings heavies aknowledge their problem. Just because they didnt suck your **** over it doesn't mean that they didnt realise the abundance of CPU/PG and the Spam... Yea you hit a nerve by saying that...

I feel like I should not weigh in on this but I will.
The point of the thread was to put holes in your common argument that you need all that DPS on the HMG to fight shotgun scouts. It's asinine that in order to take out a target with less health you need more DPS, range, better damage profile,and cheaper fitting. I await the heat changes on the HMG in hopes that they will balance this monstrously unbalanced weapon.
There was no QQ in the thread. It was a constructive banter where there wasn't QQ as much as argument versus argument. Points were made and accepted. In the end, you have done nothing but bitched that your heavy suit is going through changes. It's not even a nerf like was pointed out, heavies will now have an all-time high pinnacle of HP. While it will in particular cause some weaponry sacrifices in the form of sidearm + nades, I have rarely seen a time where a heavy has had a need for them. But that's good. It's good that heavies will start having to make sacrifices, like every other suit. I sympathize with caldari sentinels though.

And it was one of my points I raised to Ratty that is helping to get the Sentinel suit changed.

How could I NOT be sincere watching you vermin running around with cloaks and SGs. for all your complaints about the poor fat suits rarely if ever do i see a heavy out kill an invisible wallhacker. I even hear scouts complaining about the RE "nerfs"... as though its so terrible that proto REs doing 250 more damage then they used to is a bad thing. Thing like this are why I am fully convinced scouts will not stop crying until ALL OTHER SUITS ARE USELESS. If more people thought like you there wouldn't be a problem. However some people want to have easymode and not take the effort to think of counters. To those people(scouts) I simply say biomass for the good of the game.

Not all scouts are CoD fanboys. There are plenty of other games with fast, run and gun gameplay... and some of us just like Nova Knives or originally got into it when it was actually hard.

You must either play with extremely bad heavies, or a bunch of mr. mustard clones, because the amount of times I've watched heavies gun down scouts is exceptionally high, as is the number of times I've seen scouts gun down heavies. The deciding factor that it usually comes down to is that heavies don't tend to have very good situational awareness. Rarely will they actually turn around to check their six, they just seem to expect their high HP and HMG to save them from everything. Granted, this seems to go for most players. Rarely, even with scouts on the field, do I ever see people checking their surroundings. The tunnel vision is too **** high in this game!
As for the nerfs, playing with a number of different suits, I'm honestly more concerned over heavies when I'm in an assault suit or even a heavy suit than when I'm in a scout suit. At least with a scout, I can usually see them coming, but an assault or any other medium frame is extremely vulnerable to heavies. They're not fast enough to escape, they usually don't have the HP to tank it out, and the DPS is much lower on most rifles. Those guys are the ones suffering the most under this. For all the calls to nerf the scout (We'll be on our third one with Charlie I believe) the heavies haven't been touched in months, and I'd like to point out that it's not scouts being spammed right now. Why? Harder to use perhaps, though it's most likely due simply to the nerfs. They've come down to more reasonable levels... well, at least the Minmatar has... Poor Amarr doesn't even count as a scout yet. Don't worry, little guy, you'll be a real boy soon...
Hopefully this next update will fix the suits without breaking them, though I'd say wait with the nerfs until the data comes in for the new assaults. Balances need to be made, but we've already seen what happens when you give something a mass of buffs while nerfing the competition... kinda doubting the Assaults will ever have what it takes to become FoTM though.

Scouts have been the least 'b*tching' part of this community. If anything, we're the most constructive of them (no insult meant to anyone). As an observer of these forums, where exactly have we been 'b*tching' as of late?
Do you know why scout players are the least 'b*tching' part of this community? When we die, we don't complain, for it was our fault for getting cocky or being unobservant of our surroundings... or that it was that f*cking caldari scout that shot us in the back.

really atiim? the real heavies acknowledge something is wrong, the fotm chasers are the ones who deny it, same with scouts. you cant say scouts want a fix but heavies dont. i was pissed off at the re nerf, and ive been running heavy since i started playing. ive asked rattati to fix the ludicrous range on hmgs, and the incredible amount of fitting room, and so have many other heavies. the fotm chasing scouts and heavies both deny something is wrong, and only the real sentinels and scouts are trying to fix it |

What Ive observed is that some Heavies want to be able to do what Scouts do and some Scouts want to be able to do what Heavies do. The fact of the matter is they are on opposite sides of the spectrum in terms of strengths and weaknesses. Your favorite is the one closest to your play style. I have both and enjoy both but I dont expect both to have the same abilities.
For those that want to be the Jack -of-all-trades, theres the Assault suit which is trying to make a comeback with much needed buffs.
Instead of pointlessly arguing about how Heavies and Scouts are to blame , we should focus on making the Assault viable . |

My crusade is to get people to wake up and REALIZE that screaming for nerfs just because the meta shifts slightly out of your favor is WRONG. Alas though, I fear my job will never be done as scouts, even with the incoming CPU PG and HMG nerfs, still cry for MORE NERFS before even letting the current changes be felt. Thus I shall continue to remind them that they are not the only ones who can whine, moan and fling poo to get what they want. I am merely less subtle about it...

If all scouts popped up on the Heavy's radar whenever they're within 10m regardless of dampening, you'd have a point.
Scouts are a suit with the ability to literally run up behind a heavy undetected, or flank an entire building to come up from behind when spotted, in the time it takes said heavy to reach the corner and look around it, as well as capable of dodging through the stream of bullets, due to the hard angle of bullet fire, instead of a dynamic pass hit detection... then kill said heavy in 2-3 shots while strafing so fast that the heavy cannot follow with the gun reticule at close range....
So Yes, Scouts need to fall like flies if detected, because that is balance. Heavies fall if they get within a scout's range, so why is it unfair for a scout to fall if it is detected within the heavy's range? The role of presence is kind of in the name "Heavy"...

If all scouts popped up on the Heavy's radar whenever they're within 10m regardless of dampening, you'd have a point.
Scouts are a suit with the ability to literally run up behind a heavy undetected, or flank an entire building to come up from behind when spotted, in the time it takes said heavy to reach the corner and look around it, as well as capable of dodging through the stream of bullets, due to the hard angle of bullet fire, instead of a dynamic pass hit detection... then kill said heavy in 2-3 shots while strafing so fast that the heavy cannot follow with the gun reticule at close range....
So Yes, Scouts need to fall like flies if detected, because that is balance. Heavies fall if they get within a scout's range, so why is it unfair for a scout to fall if it is detected within the heavy's range? The role of presence is kind of in the name "Heavy"...
Strafing out an HMG point blank? I don't know if you got the memo but heavies have the same rotational speed as everyone else. If you can't even graze a scout in CQC with an HMG I don't know if there's hope for yall in general. Point blank the scout gets first shotgun round off they need two more. 2 more which will occupy the time slot of just under 2 seconds. To take out even a 700 HP scout takes under a second of HMG fire. Realistically you are looking at a 300 HP scout and that is well under half a second to dispose of.
Yes scouts need to fall like flies if detected but there is no need to have a death HMG that unbalanced against all suits to defend yourselves against one suit & one weapon. It outranges and out dps shotguns and is mounted on tissue paper suit and the best most heavies complain about is "dat strafe speed". As if strafe speed wasn't balanced by HP.......

2) I firmly believe that the number of militia and light weapon heavy users will drop especially since the heavy weapon fitting bonus is only for the sentinel and the lowered cpu pg will not allow both a proto light weapon and full proto modules. then again wait till the hotfix drops see where the first couple of weeks go.

The sad thing is, Scouts vs Heavies is actually a balanced fight.
Scouts get the advantage (even with less HP,less DPS , etc..) on heavies due to speed and e-war (surprise attacks). Heavies have enough HP to survive some surprise attacks and counter accordingly with a weapon that does not misses and has a high DPS.
Balanced.
Med frames are the ones that can barely survive this fight.
Scouts are ok, Heavies are ok, Med frames are getting buffed.
Everything is good with the world.

1. When did we ever say we wanted heavies to go back to "flaylock status?"
2. Actually you are claiming everything is fine for the heavies, and you want the "wallhacking" scouts to be nerfed and stfu about QQ. Essentially you're advocating for the reverse of what the community wants in order to further advance your position/gameplay in Dust leaving it even more unbalanced than it is.
3. Well it's pretty obvious why HMG users will grow, because it's the most powerful weapon in the game. The RoF and DPS outrank every other weapon, and it's essentially like a mega CR or SMG. Of course there are some drawbacks to using the weapon, but they certainly don't outweigh the advantages or else why would so many people spam the **** out of this weapon?

How is either suit being spammed is my question. Is spam considered someones role in the battlefield? I never see teams of 16v16 in heavy suits, or scout suits. Tanks spam was an issue, but I don't see this 'spam' of infantry suits being true or valid. Frankly, if you're having that much trouble with heavies, you're just not that good at this game. Sorry, but the only thing I see is a whiner who wants to falsify and stretch their words to support their argument.
All I see in this game now is a major diversity of play styles. At no point for the past few months have I seen an extreme of spamming, unless it was Latino Killers on the enemy team, but they've always been that way.
My apologies if I come off as an elitist, but I try to view things objectively, logically, and factually.

I'm mildly glad you asked... 1) I never claimed everything was "fine" my bile and hatred are directed solely at those who want the heavy to go BACK to flaylock status(currently certain high profile scouts) 2) I firmly believe that the number of militia and light weapon heavy users will drop especially since the heavy weapon fitting bonus is only for the sentinel and the lowered cpu pg will not allow both a proto light weapon and full proto modules. then again wait till the hotfix drops see where the first couple of weeks go. 1. When did we ever say we wanted heavies to go back to "flaylock status?" 2. Actually you are claiming everything is fine for the heavies, and you want the "wallhacking" scouts to be nerfed and stfu about QQ. Essentially you're advocating for the reverse of what the community wants in order to further advance your position/gameplay in Dust leaving it even more unbalanced than it is. 3. Well it's pretty obvious why HMG users will grow, because it's the most powerful weapon in the game. The RoF and DPS outrank every other weapon, and it's essentially like a mega CR or SMG. 1. The fact that certain scouts keep yammering for nerfs beyond what stated in the HF charlie tells me exactly where their intentions lie if you need further explanation, and judging from your displayed intellect you do, google context clues or reading between the lines.
2. when have I said "everything is fine" feel free to search my posts... don't worry I'll wait. Those scout "nerfs" you speak of are merely applying the same train of thought to scouts that was applied to heavies if you arent a brick tanking FOTM scout they would have no effect on you. then again that fact that you say I'm calling for nerfs speaks volumes(google the topics i asked you to in point 1 if you don't understand that last sentence) As for the QQ I was, am, and will continue to mirror the scout QQ nothing more nothing less....
3. Why would the HMG users grow? The rise of the heavy suits was due to the Assault's rather sickly state and the need to fight against brick tanked FOTM scouts. With the loss of cpu pg, HMG heat increase, and only sentinels getting the heavy weapon fitting bonus, heavy users will drop and the use of Assaults will skyrocket. As for the claim that the HMG is OP... Do you complain when a LR cuts you down from 98m away? Do you complain when you get pinned down by a MD? Do you complain when successfully flanked by a SG? Odds are you don't. Then again, judging from your attitude... My point is merely this the HMG is a niche weapon and if it doesn't perform in it's niche what good is it?

Answer to #1: I'm seeing a diversity of suits. I have not seen games of even half the enemy team being heavies as of recent.
Answer to #2: How would it effect my position if it were true? As someone who has an average of 15 kills a game and 1500+ warpoints with whichever 1of the 30 fittings I'm using, I'd say I'm not your average blueberry. I play everything from tanks and dropships to scouts, heavies, assaults, and logis. Far better than average, but certainly not the best of the best. If you were not a very bad player, you might be an average player. Not trying to be rude or mean, but I know of too many people who spout nonsense and stretch the truth to it's boundaries. You and I may just have two entirely different experiences of the current state of Dust, but I play enough matches a day, and never see what your trying to say is true.
