So everybody come play Destiny I agree that dust was trying to do something totally different than destiny in may ways... but there are many similar elemnts such as being an mmofps, deep character customization What character customization, bro? I played the Destiny BETA as well, there was no 'customization'. I can pick what emblem goes next to my name but does not appear on my character's avatar? So cool! I can unlock stuff as it gets unlocked, in the order it gets unlocked without choosing whether I want to unlock that upgrade or not? So cool! It was "you've grinded enough, go in here and click on this to stop the stupid Upgrade!!!! notification from flashing.
Destiny's PvP maps are bloody tiny, there's no room at all for tactical play, 6v6 is very small teams which also hurts the non-existent capacity for tactical play... it's a nice story, pretty graphics, casual-friendly PvE - and THAT'S what's going to make Destiny a success. CCP is already talking about having casual-friendly PvE in Legion... they don't do casual-friendly PvE well in EVE, their flagship. I think it's a mistake to try to do it in Legion or Valkyrie. But, alas, casual PvE is where the money's at so it's not surprising they're going to try it. As long as the PvP elements (hunting PvE'ers in low/nullsec space and looting their corpses, just like in EvE) are in place they'll do fine.

This is not the case as it was with Halo; a game that smashed it own hype into pieces.
I would also like to say it is rather unfair to compare a lamborghini to the john deer tractor. no game, or movie has ever lived up to the hype... ever... if people these days still believe in hype, and then allow themselves to be disappointed by reality, I feel sorry for them... Halo (the first one) did though back in those days; you had to consider the shiniest golden emblem of FPS on consoles was golden eye... which is not saying much considering the control(ers) where amongst the worst ever designed. Hell even Medal of Honor was terrible to control. Back then most folks doubted Halo's potential and had speculation about it. Halo was for most part something that was not hyped much at all. People still hated microsoft as it recently came fresh out of lawsuits about IE and office; apple was beginning to trend up and the PS2 was the console to have because PS1's popularity. look halo may as well be the game equivalent of the wizard of oz and the hype that surrounded it with "color" in a movie in its day... halo was what 20 years ago? name a game since then... you cant... and that's my point... hype isn't something to buy into this day and age. if you do youre a fool.
bunch of small indie games with bare bone budgets.

you could only level to 8... it isn't till level 15 you can really customize, but even at 8 you still had options just not many.
at first I didn't like destiny pvp but it grew on me, it is very competitive and cutthroat.
this game makes me sad....

^ this, this is why the average carebear dust player will not like it. the average duster likes to hide behind his 1000hp armor and shield facing off with some noob who only has 215 hp. it makes them feel better about themselves.

Iv been playing total war:Rome 2 and although its much better than on release and has tonnes of mods that should be in the game as standard anyway, the multiplayer is a whole new level of scrub.
So far, people have either quit or laid down rules to make the match 'epic', only to find upon start that they have simply stated rules to guarantee a win.
Example......
City assault, host says "no archers and artillery". So I thought " sweet, he wants an actual battle with pikes and horsemen". Those battles are loads of fun and were prevalent with the Hellenic cultures.
Anyway we started and his whole army were archers, horse archers and fking catapults.........I hope it was worth the extra +1 to his stats lol.
