It actually proves nothing of the sort.
Now, I'm really enjoying the Destiny beta, for the record, but in no way is Destiny's customisability even pretending to approach that which we have in DUST. That might be different in full release, but there it is. DUST also contends with much larger maps and more than double the concurrent player count.
The only place in Destiny with even 16 players is the Tower, and you can't even double-jump there.
The backend of DUST is, therefore, pretty obviously incredibly different to Destiny's, and it's an obscene exaggeration to suggest that just because Destiny is a pretty, PVE 3-man squad FPS with no more customisation than the latest CoD, really, that somehow CCP's assertion that the PS3 is incapable of running DUST the way they want it.
It would seem like wisdom, but for the warning in my heart...

Bungie on the other hand is a console developing power house. Development on console is second nature for Bungie and if given the resources I'm sure they could have pulled off DUST and its vision on console.
all a console is is a less powerful pc... they are both computers.... they even both use the same engins... maybe there are finer points between console and pc to deal with but the premise is the same on a console or a PC...
bottom line, if ccp is gonna make a console game then they should have hired people who know how to program on a console, more specifically a ps3... they don't get a pass for not having people who know these things... but I have mentioned this like 3 times already in this thread, but people just keep posting their BS apologist excuses without reading....

Destiny is looking like an AMAZING game. I've already purchased the bundle! (I did not have a ps4 previously).
What I can say about it is that their PvP is a bit "Halo"-ish. Nothing wrong with that, but the cool thing is that when one player is lagging they get disconnected IMMEDIATELY. This stops lagging across the entire match. CCP needs to do this and not try to sync everyone. Just drop the lagging person out of the match and when he reloads put him back in the team.. simple.
Also, there is a maximum amount of players in the lobby/tower area. That caps at 16, which is interesting, I guess this helps lag. If I didn't mention before, PvP is only 6v6, so that is another reason why there is no lag. The entire game is overall much more FUN to play because the mechanics work. The grenades go where you want them to go. Your hit markers are accurate and your weapon causes damage where you want them. And my god the shotgun has so much kick on it that it actually feels like an accomplishment when you hit someone. The hand cannon (pistol) is a joke but when it hits it hurts. And automatic rifles have lots of kick to them as well. Most of the guns have low ammo before reloading which mean you can't just hold down the trigger for 20 min with a completely accurate shot. Your gun would be shooting in the air somewhere if you did that.
All these "little" mechanics are missing from Dust which make Dust completely unrealistic. Anyway... Only another Month and a half before I'm done with this community and game. Cheers!

Trying to make a cutting edge game with new concepts not really ever in the console, half merging the EVE and DUST players into one universe.
Then they build it on UE3... A Game Engine that was published in 2004. Now an 11 year old game engine. And then want to call it a cutting edge game.
DUST has always been a Ferrari car body with a Volkswagen beetle engine under the hood.
Legion is shaping up to be the same.
Destiny, GTA, Fallout etc... All these games use cutting edge game engines to then build their cutting edge game and squeeze the most out of a gaming rig.
The UE3 engine makes the entire CCP Shanghai studio a joke.. which is sad.

Destiny beta was released with jetpacks,speeders, and 6 maps on day one! Had CCP done the same thing, things would be different.

Played Destiny Alpha on PS4 - wasn't impressed, won't be buying - I'd rather play Defiance when it goes free to play later this month, or Bordelands 2 because it's more fun, heck even Dust is more fun.

Um.. fairly sure i'm able to make my own mind up about whether or not the game interests me or not? It's not like i don't want to be playing shiny new games on my PS4.

Honestly I'd rather play FF14.. If I get an fps it's for the pvp nothing less. 6v6 is to small for me but Destiny is a good game not one I'd buy though.

I did read the thread. The whole thing, wouldn't have made a comment if I hadn't. My point is that on the Dust forums, Dust should be THE topic in 'General Discussions' which translates as 'General Discussions about Dust'. Thats because in its day, 2000, 2001. Nothing like Halo had ever been done. Sure we had some shooters, nott with that multiplayer, that cinema, that drama..... Damnit I want Masterchief back..... Halo 1 on PC will always be the pinnacle for me. Heres a link to a montage I made from my halo 1 pc days..... It was called hpt, halo players tournament..... Pc equivalent. Shooters like that developed the oooooold reflexes.....

A game is a game both made to be fun. The background behind each game makes no difference, either a game is fun or not.
Dust is not fun everyone here agrees that much.
Destiny is fun and **** me the alpha was more engageing than dust full realease ever was.

Ita a valid complant till you realise if he sat down for more than second he could see a beast of a landrover vs his rusting kia that just lost its rare tire and the garage wont take it back...

Im sad about Dust leaving PS3, I think Ccp had some bad luck, some incompetence, and some plain failures. That being said I think Dust does compete with most modern shooters. I play ALL shooters. I dont pretend to hate Call Of Duty as so many here do, its just a diffrent type of game. Its much faster paced than Dust, turn speeds are 2 or 3 x as fast, but I mostly play Dust. I own BF4 premium, COD Ghosts, and actually own ALMOST all the Call Of Dutys. Dust is just Dust, not something id really compare, its unique.
Its frustrations, rewards, community, skill tree, dev system, are all very unique to Dust. Ive criticized ccp plenty for developmemt but at the end of the day I log in and shoot.....

Actually the engine Dust uses has similar terrain glitches on other games.

Iv seen a load of rubbish views here have make me think half of them have not even played it. Defenders of dust are people who bought a crap car that just about works and bitches about his brothers 4v4 landrover because its leather seats are cold.
Ita a valid complant till you realise if he sat down for more than second he could see a beast of a landrover vs his rusting kia that just lost its rare tire and the garage wont take it back...
1) This didn't make any sense to me. And I listen to, and explain weird analogies and metaphors daily. 2) Why are people who have 'given up' on Dust still posting and playing? Your comments lose all credibility by you simply being here on the Dust forums... wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! some of us like to chit chat with our old buddies since we are all on different games now. the dust forum provides us with a place to do that in one place. we also like to talk about anime. Thats what PSN and the option to open a chat is for, if you don't have your 'buddy's' PSN account name saved, there is a bit of a problem...
Im rarely on the PSN anymore chief. I am too busy with RL. It takes less time to open this page and respond to a thread here.

Anyone who likes destiny has to be a neckbeard, I cant see how its possible to enjoy a fancy treasure hunt with idiotic bots that do basically no damage. Its like some kind of next gen Easter egg hunt, its ridiculous.
The game is awful, beta or not, just accept it.
