I have some new players questions.
When you make a kill, hack, revive, etc. something, a message flashes on the screen "+50" or some other number. Is that ISK being added or skill points being awarded?
I signed up for the newsletter and got the three-day booster prize announced recently. When I went online, the item was shown in an in-game mail. But there was nothing attached or for me to select and the item is not in my inventory. I don't have the letter any more either. Did I just screw myself out of a special item?
Is there any defense against players who use the heavy mini-guns? As soon as I hear the sound effect for that weapon, I'm dead.
When restocking, the game will charge me 200,000 plus even if I only need a ten items to max out a reduced item. Is it supposed to do that?
Is there a way to steady my shots? It doesn't seem to matter what weapon I use, the aim sight will wander about even if I put no pressure on the joystick. Do you have to compensate on the controller for this or what?
Sometimes, when using an anti-vehicle weapon, the game will flash a message that say "Target damage +75." Does that mean I did 75 armor damage to the vehicle or was that a skill point award?
Please, don't troll or flame me like they did on the EVE boards. I really do want to learn here.
If only I knew it required you to buy a skill before you could actually hit your target...

1: none of the above.
2: when you log on, and select a character, it should pop up on the left. Go over it, and select it for that character, go back over your character, and click confirm selection
3: Don't charge at them? Also pay attention to your surroundings?
4: So I assume you are actually saying "I'm restocking a fit, and when I do 10, it costs 200k plus for those fits, but I only wanted to restock one particular thing to make the fit at 10". Well, that's how it works. It used to be the other way, where it would actually put the fit at 10, but CCP logic said that was bad, and they changed it.
5: Nope, because again, CCP logic.
6: you did a lot of damage to the vehicle, so it gives you an award.
Also, you're in the wrong section.
Welcome to New Eden by the Way
EDIT: for the weapon sway, if you're using a sniper, crouch (triangle)

First of all, this is the wrong forum but its clear you're new so Ill answer your questions anyway.
The +50 are warpoints, which are points you get for doing stuff like killing enemies, hacking stuff, destroying vehicles, reviving teammates etc. At the end of a match the amount of isk you get does depend on your warpoints but its not a one to one translation. Essentially you get a percentage of all isk destroyed that game that correlates with the percentage of warpoints you have accumulated out of the total everyone has accumulated that game, with modifiers for winning etc. Warpoints also effect how much skill points you get, with five skill points for every warpoint up to a weekly cap at which point it drops to one skill point per war point.
I don't know why you didn't get the items, perhaps contact CCP about it?
The best way to combat an HMG is to put some range between you and it. If you're a scout you should track targets on your radar and make sure you sneak up on them. If you're an assault you shouldn't be fighting heavies in close quarters, you should be fighting in more open terrain. HMG is the rightful king of close quarters. If you're in close quarters expect it to kill you.
I don't know why your gun is swaying, perhaps its a controller issue. If it sways while you fire that's natural and you should try pulsing it, holding the trigger then releasing, rather than just holding it down. You should also train the operation for the weapon you're using, which will decrease kick on most weapons.
The +75 you get when you damage a vehicle are warpoints, same as when you kill an enemy. You get awarded warpoints for injuring a vehicle in order to better incentivize players to combat vehicles, which are generally more powerful than any single infantry.

Like above said the 25,50,75,100+ are warpoints. The more you get the sooner you can call in a OB (orbital bombardment) i think but not sure its somewhere around 2500 warpoints. So it's best when your in a squad, that way you can reach that number sooner.
Yes and no, basicly you get the mail, in the mail you press redeem your items, you are then taken to a dust account page where it say's login to redeem items. you login and then i think press redeem items. Then next time you log in on ps3 you get a selection menu to add the item to you character. select it then press conferm and that's it. I think the items are still there available to you, but not sure how to get there myself. That's why i don't just throw the page away. It's somewhere in here Dust user
There's plenty of defence against heavy's; AR, snipers, scouts, grenades. I get my ass shot of more then enough, just don't get to close.
Don't know about the restocking.
To steady shot's kneel down. Works with most weapons. For the wandering, it's only worse on militia gear and standard. If you use advanced or proto, there is not alot of swaying. |

Ok. I'd like to play as a medic. I know the optimal thing to do is to get a Logistics dropsuit. It will take a while because I have to have 300,000 sp. I'd like to replace the militia weapons I have. But I can't figure out what would be best to use. Granted, a medic is not supposed to be the best fighter. But I have to fight with something. I'd love to be able to equip a Nanite Injector and a Repair Tool at the same time. I know a better suit would provide that.
Does a Supply Depot give you more energy / nanites for your Armor Repair tool? And what about shield repair? Does only modules do that or is there a way to help a teammate keep their shields up?
I know I lose an item every time I die. If something is depleted during a game, is that item forever useless until you get back to your quarters?

1: get a Winmatar Logi suit.
2: If you don't know what weapon you want, skill level 1 into each untl you find whic one you like. I can tell you what they are all like
Plasma (Assault) Rifle: full auto, short range, kinda fast ROF, average damage, good against any target
Rail Rifle: full auto, long range, slow ROF, high damage, good against any target
scrambler Rifle: semi auto, long range, high damage, good against armor targets, and has a overheat
Combat Rifle: burst fire, mid range, average damage, good against shield targets
Sniper: A semi auto sniper, good against armor targets
Mass Driver: semi auto grenade launcher, good against armor targets
Laser rifle: Rifle that shoots a single continuous beam until it overheats. damage builds up over time (longer you fire and longer you are on target), good against shield targets
Shotgun: a pump action shotgun, good against any target
Plasma Cannon: a launcher that fires a slow firing slug that once it hits the target, explodes. Good against any target, and is a possible AV weapon
Swarm Launcher: a launcher that fires a volley of missiles at a vehicle after you lock onto it. good against armor targets.
3: NI's and reps are always stocked with nanites, no need to go to the supply depot. And no, there's no handheld shield booster (nor will there, as last I checked, dust has stopped on production as far as new items goes, and will be put into legion instead).
4: You lose the item forever; there's no getting them back. You have to restock that entire fit (which is just a blueprint for the items that you are using) before you can use that fit again, which you can do in battle.

If you want to be a medic specialize into a logistics suit, Minmatar is pretty much the best at medics since their skills give you something for Repair tools. Skill into Repair tools, and NanoCircuitry. NanoCircuitry is for the Nanite Injectors(Reviving tool) and Nanohives(They supply Ammunition to troops) and triage Nanohives (When Placed on the ground, any Team members in its bubble gets healed, good for Healing Several Members at once) For weapons, You could try the Rail Rifle or the Combat Rifle(Very good weapons). Wish you luck
P.S If you want to kill a heavy fast, Get level 3 explosives and level 1 Demolitions, This gives you Remote Explosives. So if you see one of those Pesky heavies coming at you, Run around a corner, place one of those puppies and wait for him to walk right into your trap ! |

OH. Last question...at least, for now.
The bonus skill points that have been counting down from 150,000 are about to be used up. Once those are gone, are they gone or do they replenish after a certain time?

Just for reference scrambler rifle is good against shield targets, not armor targets, and combat rife is good against any target. For a medic class I would recommend a combat rifle or plasma rifle since you will mostly be in close quarters and likely not be able to choose your targets, but this is a matter of preference. I know a lot of very good shotgun and mass driver logistics. I wouldn't get a laser or a sniper, because as a medic you will need to be in the heat of the action, rather than a long way away. I would advise against the rail rifle for similar reasons.

I'm trying to play a medic too. I tried a bunch of different weapons but the assault rifle sucks. scrambler takes a lot of skill, way too much to make it worth it (but I've heard if you're an amarr assault it works pretty well with that). Sniping is only good if you're counter sniping. Sniping against anyone else seems to only work if you're running super high-end guns.
combat rifle and rail rifle seem to be the way to go. Personally, I prefer the rail rifle, but what's nice is they're both cheap enough (sp) to put at least 1 level in each to test out.
Also, I suggest you don't stay at the frontline. You'll die a lot, and logi suits tend to get expensive fast. The best thing you can do, is find out where most of your team is hanging out, and stay right behind them. Then if you're needed, hop into the fray just long enough to do what you need to do. Then get out quick or find some cover. Never solo. never go after a hack, if you're by yourself, no matter how tempting it is. Keep a low profile, and if you have to kill someone, do so while flanking.
Personally, I don't think remote explosives are that great for medics, it requires a different sort of situational awareness, and it's already hard enough trying to figure out when you should heal and when you should hide. I would leave that to scouts and concentrate on healing.
Finally, and this is a big thing that took me awhile to figure out (cause I'm a dork), set up your equipment depending on how you use them. For example, I tend to use nanoinjectors more often than nanohives, so I have my injectors on the right of my equipment slots. The right slot on equipment is the easiest for me to pick when swapping from my weapon. This way, in the heat of the moment, I don't have to pause to make sure I'm picking my injector and not accidentally nanohives or something else.
And that's it for now. If I find any more tips I'll be sure to let you know, because I'm figuring them out as I play as well. (^_^)7 |

Cool. Great tips.
Now, some questions on why players do some of the things they do.
First, why do players in vehicles go out of their way to destroy neutral or enemy-owned items? For example, a red colored turret or Supply Depot? Especially while I am standing there trying to hack them? Actually, I CAN answer this one. They get Warpoints for destroying the object and the enemy can not use them. But it also means that our team cannot use them. There have been plenty of times where a nicely placed turret could have given our team the opportunity to shoot at enemy targets. Even flying targets! But the vehicle owners don't care and just blow the structures up. Then, when all the deployables are destroyed, our team is forced to respawn at the starting points because all the Clone Reanimation stations between the MCC spawn point and the Null cannons are gone.
Why do my team members drop explosives at my feet while I'm trying to hack a Null cannon? Explosives damage friend and foe alike. And in more than one game, an ally behind will drop an explosive and kill me while I'm trying to hack. This has happened far too often for it to be a simple accident or new player mistakes.
Why stack your deployables on top of each other? One person will drop a transport pad down in the corner. Then five others come along and put their transport pads down next to the first one. Do these things have a short lifespan and can only do so many transports before they give out or something? I could understand this behavior if that was the case. But if not, and I see one already in place, I'll find another spot to put my pad down. No need to let the enemy destroy them all at once.
Is there a report AFK (AFC "away from controller") option? A lot of people, especially those in vehicles, will drive or fly off to distant corners of the map and stay there not contributing. Flying craft do this a lot. While some of them are trying to stay out of weapon range and restore shields, others are clearly not. You get three or four people doing this and you are at a severe disadvantage.
Which is better for Minmatar Logistic suits? Enhanced the shields whether it is shield enhancers or reducing the wait time on repairs, or adding armor and the same boosts? Depending on the weapon hitting me, I'm either out all of my shields and half my health or, if the enemy has a heavy machine gun or shotgun type weapon, dead in one shot. It's very annoying to see that I am often the one to have depleted the clone reserves the most. People have been player-shunned for things like that.
Finally, since I play the medic role a lot (unless we are clearly losing, I then switch to anti-armor and take pot shots at vehicles,) I've found that a lot of the time, players do not wait to be revived. Even if I am within ten meters of someone, they'll release and not wait. I guess they're just impatient and want a fully shielded and armored clone since my current injector only restores 30% armor. I cannot get better if I cannot restore folks for points.

A few notes on your recent post.
I see you have discovered the blueberry. Those are the ones who do seemingly random things, most of which do not help the team as a whole. Like blowing up turrets that could be useful AV (many, though not all, current vehicle pilots are FOTM and hate anything that might actually hurt them, plus the wp).
Others like to grief in FW, and if that bothers you, I suggest playing pubs as much as you can as there is no friendly fire there.
I believe there is a way to report them, I will try and edit this post with a link when I find it, but I can't guarantee CCP will take an active effort to punish and AFKers, as they have been a problem as long as I have played.
I can't speak to the medic thing directly, but I know a lot of times people want to get right back into the action and can't wait on a medic OR they know they died in a heavily contested area. A lot of players tend to dislike being revived just to be killed again. For one it reflects on KDR as two deaths (there are tons of KDR whores in this game), and two, it wastes time if you are just going to die right away. If I have REs out and there is someone hacking the objective, I want to get in as quickly as I can and hopefully blow the RE before they finish the hack.
I wouldn't worry too much about KDR. Yes, there are some idiots who play this game who take this as a matter of skill. You really don't want to play with idiots anyways, so you are better off. The rest of us know how hard this game is on new players, and it takes quite awhile to build up your skills and learn the game before you really start to see the investment pay off. As long as you find a way to support your team, you should be fine. I would suggest looking to get into the Dust University chat channel, even if you don't want to join the corp, as they are extremely new player friendly and would probably welcome you to squad with them.

1. Yeah you pretty much nailed it. Tankers not only get warpoints for destroying installations, they also destroy a possible future threat. If you've ever played tank you know how paranoid tankers get. There's not much cover at all, you're constantly exposed. The last thing a tanker wants is to retreat from a fight only to learn that an enemy hacked a turret that was previously blue and now they're dead because of it. Supply depots if hacked by enemy forces gives them a chance to spawn AV so destroying these limits the enemy's anti-tank options. It's selfish and skewed but that's the way it is.
2. Explosives don't kill friendlies unless you're playing FW, in which case the player was probably a troll or an awoxer messing around by team killing. Friendlies place explosives at your feet so that when the enemy comes to counter hack they can be blown up.
3. They do have a short lifespan but I've never really understood the double stacking. Some areas, such as supply depots or objectives get easily cluttered with these because they are places where people want to spawn. Remember that you get WP if a friendly spawns on your link so to maximize warpoints you want to put your links in places where allies will spawn on them. So there is a lot of competition amongst linklayers for prime locations and many players double stack anyway even if there are already five other links because then they will get 20% of the warpoints from players spawning that location.
4. The game has an auto AFK detection where if you don't damage an enemy or take damage yourself within a given period of time you get kicked from battle. If these players were truly AFKing then they would have gotten kicked. More likely they're just snipers or bad players who don't know how to pilot and get chased off points as soon as they get there. It's regrettable but you can't kick someone for being bad at the game.
5. If you're going Min I would advise you to choose shields. Min has the least health out of any logi to begin with, so try to avoid conflict/ hit and run. Duck behind cover when you get shot. Your power is your speed. Use it to full effect. You can't tank like traditional units but you can outrun them. And a fast recovery time can be better than large hp if you use guerilla tactics to slowly whittle down your slower healing adversaries.

I cannot get better if I cannot restore folks for points.
6. Ah. Well, you were gonna hear this eventually. Here goes the harsh truth. No one in Dust likes medics. Especially not inexperienced ones. See, in Dust even if a medic revives you, it still counts as a kill. A medic allows you to get up faster and to keep your suit, but most players are running cheap fits would rather just respawn at a more ideal location than get back up and probably die again. See most of the time when you get picked back up its by a new player using the medic class with a militia needle. This means that you find your self at 15% with probably very little ammo in the same place you just died. Since you didn't kill the enemy he's probably still there and has higher health than you. Especially if it was a sniper. 80% you get picked back up you immediately die again which is just annoying and nobody likes. Making this even worse is that medics get warpoints even if you die again, so there's no incentive for them to make sure you stay alive. Most just revive you, get your points, then leave you to die again. For this reason most players in dust would rather bleed out than get picked up by a medic. Experienced medics can use much better needles that revive players to 100% health rather than 15% and these are appreciated. But there are very few of them. Most medics are new players who will pick you up and then just leave you to die again. If you're set on being a medic, max out repair tool so that you can heal players to 100% health after reviving them. You'll get more warpoints by doing this too. Also carry nanohives so that the players you revive get get more ammo as many of them will be low. You also get warpoints for this. Get in a squad with people who understand that you're not just some noob who wants to revive them and then let them die again, that you're committed to getting them back up to full health and to full ammo so they can get back in the fight and not feel as if they're immediately going to die again.

I can understand not wanting to leave a turret up, personally, I find a turret's contribution to a battle to be very small due to the crappy placements they have. But a supply depot can make or break a game, so why destroy those?
I would rather have a supply depot anytime over a clone reanimation unit.
As for being a medic, I don't think it has so much to do with kd/r as much as there are few medics running around and it is really hard to get to everyone who is dying. so most people figure, "ah, well. I'm probably not going to be saved anyways." and let themselves die. |

I like this. I always try to switch to my repair tool after reviving someone. But they often run out of range before any healing is done. I will just have to pump some SP in to the repair tool skill and use a better repair tool and nanite injector.
I'm thinking of carrying respawn kits as well since people keep running out very quickly and finding no place close to respawn.
I'm working on it. Just takes time without AUR.

Have you played with your sensitivity settings to find some you're comfortable with?
Also, shotguns... They're difficult to counter as a new player. Normally, they're going to be carried by scouts. A scout has a passive scanner that lights you up on their minimap, so they'll be able to see where you are and what direction you're facing. That makes sneaking up on you very easily, and when a shotgunner gets in range it's difficult to beat them.
If you're about to get hit by a shotgun, I recommend jumping around like a lunatic and strafing as much as possible and trying to empty your clip into them. They're very short range weapons, so if you can 'bunny hop' even a short distance away it might be enough to drop the damage enough to survive being hit.
If you're having problems with shotgunners in a particular match play very paranoid. Look around frequently - it'll be much more difficult to sneak up on you. Try to 'bait' the scouts if you catch sight of them - go straight ahead for a little, then quickly turn around and see if they're running over to kill you.
You can see cloaked players if you look carefully. When moving, they appear as a blue shimmer. When stationary they're much harder to detect, but your crosshairs will turn red if you sweep over them, so that can give you a clue.
Finally, there are two newbie-friendly ways to counter being one-hit by surprise scout shotguns. One is to be a scout yourself - that'll help you evade their passive scans. The other is to stack HP - a shotgun will do around 500 damage, so a shot is survivable, perhaps two if you bunny hop. The odds of surviving without a heavy suit are quite slim if you're getting hit though so your best bet is probably evasion.
Scouts are probably 'flavour of the month' right now though, and arguably overpowered, so it's difficult.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

I'll give this a try. It's difficult to strafe with a combat rifle. I was going to give assault rifles a try as people are pretty good at taking me down with those.
Being killed a lot is starting to bother me. When I try to heal as a logistic, people zero in on me pretty frequently. Explosives and most weapons can one-shot me. While those in heavy armor that I'm trying to heal just lose their shields. It's frustrating because my weapon skills are supposed to be secondary to my healing. With a 60% armor restorer nanite injector, people seem more willing to let me revive them. If I can get to them without being cut down myself.

Folks, I am really, really, really, really growing frustrated here. I'm not sure what I need to do to fix or improve this. So any help is appreciate.
I, at this time, use a combat rifle, SP trained to level two. I'm a logistics suit wearer and know I'm supposed to be healing instead of attacking. But I often find that if I revive at or near the same spot, I am easily picked off and one-shot. So, I will try to revive away from where I died. Most of the time, I'll come across enemy stranglers this way. In this case, I revived and saw an enemy at medium range. So, I opened fire on him. I had his shields down to half before he turned and sprinted right at me. He was not shooting. So, I tried very hard to down him before he could close the distance. With combat rifles, they do not shoot continuously. But with each burst, my sites would move off the target and I'd have to adjust them back. The guy was on me quickly and I was stuck running and jumping in a circle while reloading as he fired back. Why he waited until close range with what sounded like an assault combat rifle is beyond me. But never the less, every time I would try to swing to get the guy in my sites, I would always swing too wide. The guy finally cut me down.
Another thing I have noticed is the joysticks on my controller do not snap back the neutral exactly every time. A lot of the time, there will still be some slight movement in a direction until I flick my joystick a bit. Does this mean the trackballs on the controller are going out? Is this why I cannot hit anything because the controllers are fighting me? Or is there some secret to targeting that I am missing? Even at long range, I cannot seem to hit my target. Even while trying to lead my shots, I am not hitting anyone.
Suggestion? Thanks in advance.

Suggestion? Thanks in advance. On the CR topic, there is a skill that reduces the bullet dispersion. You need to skill into that too at some point, it will greatly help. Also, if you are swinging too wide, reduce your sensitivity. If not on your hipfire aim, then certainly with your aim down sights sensitivity. That will give you two different options, and can work in different ways.

I wonder if I should upgrade to a different drop suit or add points in to shield regeneration or enhancement. Frankly, I'm not sure how I'm supposed to heal and "jump in to the thick of it" (as one help thread put it), if I am being one-shot all the time.
Questions: Can you only get 1000 SP max from a single battle? Without bonuses, I cannot seem to make more than that.
Is there a bug that allows an ally to cause damage to an ally in the game? There have been a couple of incidents the last few days where the only way I could have been hurt was by friendly fire.

There is a weekly skills cap. If you start seeing a significant reduction in your SP, you have hit your cap for the week. I think they reset ever Wednesday during downtime.
Friendly fire is active in factional warfare for sure, and I think PC too. Pubs definitely not. Just be aware of what mode you are in, especially if you are in a squad that jumps around modes.

I created a video that shows you the different weapons (not the new pistols as they came out after) but its helpful to see just how big the dispersion is hip firing verses when you use sights. Also if there is overheat, I showed just how long that hangup really leaves you vulnerable.
Before you look at what I shot and say 'that looks cool, let me go skill into it', go create another toon (you can have 3 characters per PSN). Dump all the points of that new character into one weapon or specific item you're curious about and try it out. Once you're done, delete the toon. Nothing is worse than thinking something looks awesome in the hands of an expert and trying it out yourself to find out you might as well be throwing rocks at them. It's like me and the laser rifle. That thing is god in better hands. In my hands, its like a ******** gorilla trying to make a sandwich with powertools. It's almost embarrassing how bad I am with that rifle.
Lessons I learned the hard way that:
- I didn't use my sights nearly as often
- I tried to gun at someone I was never going to win against to begin with
When you take aim at a redberry, take a look at the bottom of the screen. That readout information really is important. That screenshot is what I took right before I died. I was using the Toxin SMG which is the exact same as a basic SMG. My current range from him is almost double my effective range and his suit tells me he easily has double the eHP that I have. Completely ignoring this information, he shot at me with his rifle which I was well within effective range of before even a portion of my bullets could reach him because of dispersion.
Therefore, if you're in a militia start fit and you turn a corner and attack someone wearing an ADV Sentinel suits, stacking plates and hauling a HMG, you should expect to die. Really read that information before you go spraying bullets. Sometimes the smartest thing to do is not fire or call attention to yourself.
As a logi myself, I often find that most people don't wait for me either. I still carry needles but I usually stick to my rep tool and nanohives. I drop uplinks at the beginning of the battle and replenish them throughout the game.
Find a squad. This is a team game. Flanking and tactics is always going to win and this game is not very fun solo.

Nice video. I'm absolutely convinced that my bullet dispersion is why I'm not hitting anything. But as all the guides tell me. logistics are not supposed to concentrate on their weapon skills. At first anyway. Also, about the video, your graphic quality was way better than what appears on my TV. Did you tweak the graphics to make your video or do I have my TV settings wrong?
Finding a good squad is pretty hard as well. A lot of the people who play DUST (that I have seen anyway,) are from South America and claim to not speak English (though they type it out pretty well).
I also seem to suffer from not using a headset. At first, I turned the headset settings all the way up and just listened. But to be honest, the only thing people seem to use the headsets for is so that everyone can hear them dropping the f-bomb when they die / miss / feel they've been treated unfairly, etc. I have actually not heard anyone give instructions over the headsets yet. No "Help at C," "We need some anti-armor on that tank," or anything.
Are Turrets worth training? And how about scanning for a logistic? Feasible or waste of time?

I use an elgato to capture at 1080, so it might just be higher than your TV allows?? I dunno that one honestly.
Squads I agree finding a good squad is hard. What I did in the beginning was joined up in a game, as soon as I spawned, I looked at my team and joined the most full squad available. If they don't want me there, they'll kick me, but most squads don't mind a blueberry because its just extra points for them towards an orbital. Most of the time at the end of the game, I would say 'gg' and leave the squad. But once in a great blue moon I found a squad I really jived with. There sense of humor matched mine, we worked great together, my support style fit really well with them, etc. if that happens, I would say 'gg' and ask if they minded I stick with them a few matches. Even politely ask if they have a chat channel where they are on and you can squad with them again. This is the pathway to finding players on at the same time as you that you enjoy being with. You might even get a corp invite out of it.
If you get the chat channel, type in lfs when you're on. Get picked up by others in the channel and just have fun. If they need to kick you for a corpmate, don't get offended. We join corps because we really like the people we play with. They're not kicking you out of spite, but because they want to make sure their buds aren't stuck soloing it out.
Look up the 'Learning Coalition' chat channel. The whole point of the channel is to help new players. Join it and squad up with players or just ask questions. They'll help you out and even squad with you. If you find you really want to be good at a specific role, they'll even mentor you in that role.
Chat If you're only only activating in team chat, you're not going to get anything useful there at all. I found chat is only useful in whole chat rooms when you're q-syncing or in a squad. If you're soloing and in team chat, you're only going to catch people eating loudly, people listening to music in the background or those who just want to yell. I recommend not turning on chat unless you're in a squad.
From my advice above, when you jump into the most full squad, make sure chat is active in squad. Good squads is where you're going to hear 'let's take objective C', 'watch out, heavy is at CRU', 'Incoming madrugar', those useful things you're expecting to hear. If they're silent, its a squad of solo guys just teaming up. If they're a really good squad, they'll use SL commands on top of communication.
Turret Turrets are worth training if you want to be a gunner for a tanker/pilot or a tanker yourself. It's really something you should think about only if you enjoy it. In the learning coalition chat, just mention you'd like to try a turret out yourself to see if you enjoy it. That or go create a militia tank yourself and drive it around. See if you like it any.
Scans If you want to be a scanner logi, you should be skilling gallente. Since the patch of cloaked scout doom, I've removed scanners from all of my suits. I'm a proto min/amarr logi. I let my squad scouts do the scanning for me at this point and just skilled into dropsuit skills to increase my own dampening/precision/range. Passive scans have been enough for me in that capacity but my corp doesn't need me to be the eyes. I think that's a decision you'll have to make depending on what type of support player you want to be. Note however, that while you'll be a useful asset to a team still, rep tools/nanohives/uplinks are what are going to net you the most overall sp.

Your graphics were much sharper than I've seen the game in. That and I have an issue with some older games that now appear to have giant squares as graphics. This probably is not the place to discuss TV resolution though.
So, turret skills are only if you want to use vehicle turrets? Do you get better dispersion and such at higher turret levels like you do with weapon skills? Does this benefit the turrets on the ground?
Personally, I hate vehicles. Tank drivers just go around shooting all the hackable targets in my games. They don't seem to offer much benefit. And all anyone who drives a "jeep" does is ride around in a circle trying to run over people on the road. Even if it's hitting their own teammates. And the dropships? Well, about all I see anyone do in those things is fly around the edge of the map and not really participate in the game. Occasionally, someone will have a dropship that has a missile launcher. But the pilot won't use them because he's too busy flying as high as he can to avoid being shot out of the sky.

Not going to lie, I have a little over 24 mil sp in this game, and not a lick into vehicles. I never went back into them after the major respect happened. I know for a fact that skilling into turrets helps with turret turn speed. Right now, with nothing skilled into them, I take forever and a day to turn my turret on my target. But if you read what each skill does, it should detail to you what each upgrade helps them with. If it doesn't, you might want to ask those in Learning Coalition. They definitely have vehicle users in that channel.

I don't think vehicle turret skills affect the stationary turrets. I recommend not spending SP on them anyway until you've made some progress in your favoured role.
On scanning: Active scanners for logis are of dubious value. If you squad with a scout it's unlikely you'll need them. You can use them to get a little advance warning of what's on an objective if you feel like fitting one. I recommend sticking to the 'holy trinity' of nanite injector, rep tool, nanohive, though. Uplinks are also a very good option - if you've clever with the placement they really rake in the WP, and by extension ISK/SP. They're critical to the functioning of a team as well. A good uplink placer will turn tides and get nicely rewarded for it.
On finding squads: I think there are some heavy + logi squad channels around. If you get into an active one, I guarantee you that any heavies there will love you to bits for repping them and keeping them going. Co-ordination isn't hard either, as you just stick to the heavy normally and possibly take out long range targets with your CR.
You have long since made your choice. What you make now is a mistake.

Supply Depots have a number on them. It has been, so far, 9%. Players also have a number on them. Most of the time, it's 95%. But I've started seeing higher numbers in some matches. One guy has 114% next to his name.
What are these numbers?
I'm also guessing that if you hack a vehicle and then end the match with said vehicle, you don't get to keep the vehicle, right?

I'm also guessing that if you hack a vehicle and then end the match with said vehicle, you don't get to keep the vehicle, right? That's damage efficiency, what % of your damage you'd actually be doing to a target.
And no, sadly you don't get to keep those. Imagine the tanker tears we could collect if that was possible lol

Uh...but those numbers show up on my teammates. Do they show up for enemies as well? I admit that if they do, I'm shooting or running to quickly to notice.
If only I knew it required you to buy a skill before you could actually hit your target...

Another question.
I'm not sure what the name of the map is. But on this map, the controls for the Null Cannon are in the center of the map with a very tall white building next to it. Above the controls along this giant tower, there is a narrow ledge. You cannot get to this ledge from the ground and there are no stairs to reach it. At first, I thought you had to follow a very long line of pipes to reach the ledge. There are two that lead away from this central building. But one set of pipes ends in a giant rock that you cannot climb. The second set ends in a vertical drop in to the ground that cannot be climbed either. It is pretty much a given that the group who gets on to the ledge wins the game since they can pelt anyone at the controls for the cannon with regular ammunition or just drop explosives over the side and then draw back so they cannot be targeted.
How are people getting up there?
Second, is there a place to report gameplay bugs? As a healer, I am constantly moving to bodies to revive them only for the game to not allow me to hit the button to revive. Even if moving in a circle trying to find the spot with the revive timer ticking down. I actually got hate mail from a guy who accused me of teabagging him instead of reviving him. Which leads me to my third question: how do I report profanity-laced in-game mail?
If only I knew it required you to buy a skill before you could actually hit your target...

Ok, I'm assuming it's this map https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=107462&find=unread
Dropships can fly up there and drop people and uplinks off, as for your second question....there is one tech support/bugs section of the forum linked here: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=topics&f=729
Reporting in-game mail though...no idea, but next time that happens, and you get hate mail because of that issue n people claiming you're teabagging, reply with "DIP, DIP, POTATO CHIP".
Also, might wanna think about adding the Learning Coalition chat channel so you don't have to come back here to ask a question. Most in there will gladly help, if you don't know how to add it, bring your chat up like you normally would (select on ps3 controller), go down to the little +, then type in Learning Coalition n hit join. A lot faster than having to get on here every time.

That would be the one. Are dropships the ONLY way? I'm not positive that I see a dropship every time someone is up on that ledge. Though they may be being shot out of the air before I see them.
As for the Learning channel, I can use it. But I cannot type as fast on the PS3 controller as I can here. I also cannot be on the internet at the same time I'm online using the PS3. I do not have a hub. It would probably cut in to my speed anyway.
If only I knew it required you to buy a skill before you could actually hit your target...

Yes a ds is the only way up to my knowledge, and there's 3 spots they can land on n 1 completely blocks the view from the other spawn on both sides, so that may be why you don't see them.

With a fast enough scout, you used to be able to jump up there, but no longer.
That map, by the way, is pure evil and needs to die horribly. Win or lose I rarely enjoy playing Dom on it. It's like WarGames: The only winning move is not to play.

What does the number "9%" on supply depots and Clone Reanimators mean?

Auorra wrote:What does the number "9%" on supply depots and Clone Reanimators mean? That is the percent of damage you are able to do with your weapon.
So it is 9% of whatever DPS your weapon is able to pull off.
You can also find weak spots on tanks using this method. As there are spots that are over 100 percent.
