I'm trying to play a medic too. I tried a bunch of different weapons but the assault rifle sucks. scrambler takes a lot of skill, way too much to make it worth it (but I've heard if you're an amarr assault it works pretty well with that). Sniping is only good if you're counter sniping. Sniping against anyone else seems to only work if you're running super high-end guns.
combat rifle and rail rifle seem to be the way to go. Personally, I prefer the rail rifle, but what's nice is they're both cheap enough (sp) to put at least 1 level in each to test out.
Also, I suggest you don't stay at the frontline. You'll die a lot, and logi suits tend to get expensive fast. The best thing you can do, is find out where most of your team is hanging out, and stay right behind them. Then if you're needed, hop into the fray just long enough to do what you need to do. Then get out quick or find some cover. Never solo. never go after a hack, if you're by yourself, no matter how tempting it is. Keep a low profile, and if you have to kill someone, do so while flanking.
Personally, I don't think remote explosives are that great for medics, it requires a different sort of situational awareness, and it's already hard enough trying to figure out when you should heal and when you should hide. I would leave that to scouts and concentrate on healing.
Finally, and this is a big thing that took me awhile to figure out (cause I'm a dork), set up your equipment depending on how you use them. For example, I tend to use nanoinjectors more often than nanohives, so I have my injectors on the right of my equipment slots. The right slot on equipment is the easiest for me to pick when swapping from my weapon. This way, in the heat of the moment, I don't have to pause to make sure I'm picking my injector and not accidentally nanohives or something else.
And that's it for now. If I find any more tips I'll be sure to let you know, because I'm figuring them out as I play as well. (^_^)7 |

I can understand not wanting to leave a turret up, personally, I find a turret's contribution to a battle to be very small due to the crappy placements they have. But a supply depot can make or break a game, so why destroy those?
I would rather have a supply depot anytime over a clone reanimation unit.
As for being a medic, I don't think it has so much to do with kd/r as much as there are few medics running around and it is really hard to get to everyone who is dying. so most people figure, "ah, well. I'm probably not going to be saved anyways." and let themselves die. |
