So instead of letting people like me deal with redline rail snipers, now I have to wait for them to get right behind me with 3 damage mods going so they can destroy me in 2 shots, and on top of that, now my armor hardener's bonus is reduced by almost half.
CCP, I'd like to know what prompted these changes. Yeah, I find a redline rail sniper to be a b!tch scared to leave the spawn, but I can deal with them. And there's no reason to nerf the armor hardeners, other than to please the infantry on here that continue to try to solo tanks. They put up the same threads about the same conditions, ie tank spam in ambush, or the rare occasion that they're not in ambush, they can't destroy a tank with Darkside CBR7 swarms.
With 1.7 as it was, I assumed you wanted tankers to deal with the threat. Now it's clear that due to infantry's ability to adapt to changes as we've done for over a year, now it's easier for those that find it difficult to use their brains to destroy tanks.
I may be missing something, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't call for a tank nerf before Uprising 1.7. - Atiim

I agree with you on red line rail gun tanks as snipers. I can hunt them down and the maps aren't very large so it was no big deal. If you had a partner you could send then out with hardeners as bait, a job I have done myself, then jump/hit them with they pulled out from their hiding spot to take the bait.
And so it goes.

Personally I consider the misfire bug as something that breaks the weapon but really its all semantics at this point, things are ****** and 2 years into the game thats just inexcusable

Hotfix today, rail range is being cut in half. Large turrets that is.

I get destroyed by people that aren't on the forums all the time. They understand the words PTFO. Proxy traps and AV teams are the norm for people that are actually intelligent, which most of the forums clearly aren't.

The nerf to hardeners is justified and acceptable, the rail range nerf is overmuch. A range of 350m I think would be good and then a nerf to rotation speed and ROF slightly would be good. This makes them very powerful ranged vehicles that can't be completely invulnerable but don't need to get super close to fight. The rotation speed and ROF should also help slot them better into their role as ranged firepower. Currently the rotation makes killing infantry fairly manageable and allows brawling with a rail gun to be too easy. It shouldn't be impossible but it should require careful driving to land your shots.
Edit: I'm glad CCP is handling railguns one aspect at a time, if this range works out but the damage and brawling is too good then I'd love to see another hotfix address those issues. The current step towards balance is much preferable to widesweeping nerf and buff swings. |

The reason it's an unnecessarily huge nerf is that the problem was never the amount of resistance, it was the shorter cooldowns making permahardened tanks a reality alongside militia hardeners being just as good as proto hardeners. This nerf means that a militia railgun without damage mods can kill a double hardened Gunnlogi with a complex extender in a single magazine. So it is now more beneficial to spam militia tanks than to skill into vehicles.
If anything, you'll see more tank spam because now the only real thing holding them at bay, namely the proto tanks, are now on the same level as the militia tanks. AV was never a problem to militia tanks because you can lose 4-5 and still turn a profit.
Best PVE idea I've seen.
