CCP,
There is a major issue with PC. In case you haven't noticed, there are several corps that keep their districts locked up with friendly attacks for months. I was wondering how they were able to do this for so long, I assumed that they were losing ISK when doing this. I know you made changes to "fix this," but you forgot one case. This issue is corp A wants to lock up their districts so that they can never lose their districts and they want to still make money. They have an alt corp B that they can launch attacks from. What happens is they launch a clone pack attack from corp B, costing them 36 million ISK. When the battle occurs, both sides no show(no points hacked). When the battle expires, corp A has gotten a clone regen, and corp B received their entire 36 mil back. Corp B launches a new attack and the process repeats. This allows a corp to keep their districts locked up indefinately without losing ISK, in fact, they still get their clone regen and a corresponding genolution payout. This mechanic is breaking PC and allowing corps to operate without fear of ever losing their districts and making ISK since their district is ALWAYS "Under Attack.".
CCP, this needs to change, They should only get the genolution value of 120 clones back, ~12 million.
Please contact me if you have any questions. I appreciate your quick fix to the Logi LLAV infinate distance rep that was being abused in PC when I brought it to your attention, please do the same here.... It is ruining PC.

It's nothing new, been an issue for a long time. It's also intended design, believe it or not - so there's not going to be much done here in the technical support forums. Best bet is to propose feedback in the Feedback/Requests sub-forum and get a backing and support. Thanks for posting this either way.

OMG!!! Thank you for letting us know that this is being looked into. This has been a major issue for a while and we finally figured out exactly what they were doing. I am hoping that mechanic is not intended (cause it breaks PC) and that it will be fixed. Let me know if you need any more information. We need a speedy resolution to this.
The funny thing is that the last time DDB posted about something being exploited in PC and it got fixed, we were accused of being a secret DEV corp. Funny stuff, eh?

We didn't know that you guys were actually making money doing it. We figured that the clones were being sold at standard genolution prices. I cannot believe that people were OK with blatantly abusing this. It is kinda sad that corps had to keep their districts locked for months to stay in PC. Keq is capable of holding their own in PC, so I don't understand why you guys participated in it.

Yep... And AE is lambasted on the forums for glitching and ridiculed for "abusing game breaking mechanics" yet corporations and flaunt their abuse of this openly on the forums with ZERO repercussions from CCP. What OP didn't state is that you can make up to 360 million isk in player cash for idling/afking through the whole round if both sides do it... Or that a lot of corps doing this set up "hack fests" where they will pair off and hack turrets, CRUs, and supply depots back and forth grinding out SP. It is possible to get over 50k warpoints from a match like this (someone who abused this was bragging to me about it).
now you may say, "Whoa... 360 million isk, stop lying and go back to melee glitching". Well, kind sir with a pocket full of diversions, here is how it is done.
1) Attack your own district using a subsidiary corp or shell corp
2) stack both teams with your own corp and set tax to 100% (or, if you want them to keep the isk, don't)
3) don't hack objectives
4) match takes over two hours to finish, and to guarantee a win, hack an objective at the two hour mark
5) since isk reward is determined by length of match, total reward will vary from 5 to 10 million per player but will generally side near 8-10 million
Need some war points? Ok
1) pair off players so that one from each side gets a specific socket.
2) unskilled players can hack in 10 seconds
3) given human perception (and my love of whole, easy numbers) it takes 2 seconds to realize it is hacked
4) the pair can hack a single object 5 times per minute ( [10+2]GÇó5 = 60), or, have an equal # of hacks at 5 each at 2 minutes
5) lets say they do this for 2 hours exactly... 120/2=60, so 60 total rotations, at 5 hacks each, that is 300 hacks each total, or 15000 war points
6) greedy? Minmatar logi suits pair off with 4 complex codebreakers each... Individual hack time is less than a second, but for ease, lets say each logi hacks and the other starts hacking after the 2 second mark. That is 30 hacks a minute, or 15 each, giving the pair a total of 1800 hacks each in two hours, or 90000 war points. The record I have heard was around 80-90k.
7) sit back and collect massive sp
Now... You can call this glitching, game breaking, fun, or whatever... Heck, you can continue to say it is perfectly fine and post about it with lolz on the forum... but CCP needs to actually respond, fix, and punish those who have abused this. This is crazy. This is worse then any glitch ever used to kill someone in the game, because unlike those, your enemy can't stop you.
Now... I may be AE, but I care about this game... And I will go as far as saying most of AE cares about and loves this game... We don't lock out districts, and actively work with corps want to get into PC by facilitating the transfer of districts we take into their hands. I have always been open on the forums about helping budding corps in PC without charge... Not because I think I am that great, but because I want to help. Other members of our corp do, too... but yet we get ridiculed for what...? Yea... It certainly isn't close to what these people are doing to the game... CCP needs to give us a REAL answer, and not one that is just SOONtm. |

Interim solution: remove clone packs, or make them extremely expensive in the meantime... There are several corporations getting exceedingly wealthy off of this making the game's market a joke. The ramifications flow over into the world of pub matches as these corporations have deep pockets, allowing their players to run continuous proto and tanks beyond the average player of the game, destroying the experience for new and middle of the road players. CCP has known of this issue for months, but still has yet to do anything... At this point, it seems like they don't care, but now everyone who has read this forum has the knowledge to do it too. Maybe the dissemination of how to do it will lead to them fixing it... |

You are incorrect on this one. Why don't you exhaust your time in CCP fixing a broken laggy game. If there is people deployed they will only get a certain amount of money. That is already distributed for a PC win. |

I don't run proto in pubs and only do it in the same situation you mention (people just running proto). In fact, a lot of the people I run with use advanced or basic gear. So your accusations and broad strokes just show how little you know of us... just like your inference that we lock our districts. You can see that none of our districts are under attack, and if the information was easily accessible, could see that even during the "winter war" our districts were always unlocked and only attacked by our enemies and not ourselves... unlike those that we were fighting and, still are part of the same people that do this to this day.

Your right, this game is broken, and this is one of the HUGE broken parts of the game and we would like it fixed. And you're wrong on the limited amount of money... money is determined by length of time in game which means that a skirmish where everyone afk'ed or no points were taken would yield over a million isk (2 million to the highest war point earner). If you would like to test this, just afk during your next empty skirmish and don't hack anything, but I do warn you, it will take over two hours. Now, the game issues multiplied isk returns per person on the basis that it is a PC and therefore the isk yield is greatly increased when the time is extended out.
Let's just ignore that the huge SP gain that could be had with the dual hacking technique that I brought up, too... since, you know, that doesn't at all point out at all how broken self-locking districts is. |

I could say the same about KEQ... I rarely if ever see KEQ out of proto, but I will still run my advanced minmatar assault with either an RS-90 or BK-42. Before this, I religiously ran a dren assault suit with a dren ar, but I have been messing around with builds and wanted to use a suit I am specced into and not the cal assault suit I am not. |

Could have but you still don't know them. Obviously when the kill board says AE and cko or mko nooo they're not proto stomping. I discourage proto stomping as much as possible. It doesn't improve your gun game or isk if you are not getting a check unless you are AE members.

and I agree with you 100%. There are protostompers amongst AE ranks.. Just like every other corp, I am not denying this, but there are a lot of us that don't do such a thing. So broad strokes will have me disagree |

Here are some pictures I took from November 6, 2013 describing what Demens is talking about. I informed members of the CPM about it almost immediately after under the circumstance that it was anonymous (ironic, I know) and that it be reported to CCP to be fixed. I had figured it was a one time occurrence for the triple SP event so that our guys would reduce the grind time associated with the event but I found out later on that it was repeated several other times. This was the only time I participated and it was to gather pictures.

demens, I appreciate your candor on how bad it can be. The worst part, is that in many cases there's nothing else to do that's as profitable or beneficial to the player, so many people decide to do it, knowing it's game-breaking, but just to stay competitive with others who are doing the same.
I mean, I haven't hit the weekly cap in months, but apparently I could do it in three matches with exploits.

Thank you. That is part of the problem... Exploits beget exploits, and with the large isk bomb at the end, we reward this... outside of real world political comparisons, we are just rewarding the banks for crashing the market. What do you think will happen upon player market opening?

I can not support game breaking mechanics like this... Several members of ANON capped out their main and alts in this manner...

To get back on topic here many of Aeons current corp and alliance mates were in many of those farming sessions as well so if all the records are being pulled up that would implicate both AE and the sound of freedom and other members of the alliance as being pro district locking & farming ... yet here they are trying to wag a finger at everyone else ... interesting especially since they have talked about doing the same within there corp (AE) If one loses isk or sp were all going to lose it and i know the ones sided with renagade will loose alot more than ex anon members will . |

And you raise these accusations why...? The evidence is on the table as proof as to what could happen. What other corporations are, literally, doing daily and some have been doing daily for months now. A large chunk of Molden Heath has been permanently locked and useable. This is the reason this is game breaking. The fact that people are doing this for weeks and months, and not just doing this during what was almost an impossible grind for anyone (as I remember, I ended up being 50k SP shy that triple SP week despite trying my hardest to cap out).
So, back to the actual topic at hand, this being continuously allowed to happen will simply lead to PC being a zero factor in the actual game. If it were to happen and Renegade decided to join in, over 80% of all PC districts would be completely and utterly removed from play. Imagine a game where the players remove the actual end game from the game, making it impossible to play... that is where Dust is heading. PC needs MAJOR reform...
1) fix district locking to make it punishable via costs heavily outweighing gains
2) fix the lag that is, honestly (well, to a small extent... most lock districts out of easy of money and sp), driving some to lock their districts
3) make PC worth something other than a ruler to measure ones e-junk with |

How could he get the pictures if he wasn't in the match? Also, consider that he might have, in order to get focus, not included half of the screen, as he was only getting a picture of the war points. like I said, I don't think the pictures were as insidious as you think. He probably needed to focus the picture and just got war points to make sure it was there. He posted it to prove my initial calculation (page #1) that shows you can make anywhere from 15k-90k war points by self-locking districts and PCing against yourself. His post was made to show that it is possible and to provide evidence... Not to throw people under the buss. |

If I were trying to hide it I wouldn't have included the first picture which showed my SP gains. Even still, I would have had to have been a part of that battle in order to get the pictures of the end-of-match scoreboard. Difficult to hide and attempt to exempt myself from that kind of evidence.
The second image only showed one side of the participants because I couldn't get a picture of the war-points with any degree of clarity unless I did so. The picture was taken with a smart phone and it's difficult enough just getting a picture of what's on the television at the time.

There is a level of ignorance (and I use that by it's text-book definition, not as an insult) in this post and I'll try my best to elaborate. Hiding my name wouldn't have done any good for two reasons: a.) I had to be in the battle for the duration in order to get a picture of my receiving 71,000 SP and the end-of-match scoreboard. b.) Upon reporting this incident to CCP, giving them date and time, they would have been able to see all participants from start to finish regardless of whether or not I told them who participated.
I'll post an excerpt from my Skype conversation when I had reported the issue back in November, albeit I am going to censor the recipient as I don't have their permission to share a conversation from a third party program:

I never left ANON, I took a break because I was burnt out on PC and was expressing this in the middle of the matches where I was told to stick around because I was needed. After that last match I threw my controller through my television and left for several days to de-stress because I was at a point of unnecessary frustration.
I remained in ANONYMOUS until two weeks ago when Harle finally left; Crysis and I were the only remaining directors. Just as well, my Eve character is still in ANONYMOUS with the title of Director despite the corp only having a handful of people left.
As said in my previous post, if CCP wants to know who was part of that match they can just look it up by the date and time that I provided. I did everything in my power to both show that there was a noticeable exploit and keep everyone involved from receiving punishment and considering that we're all still playing, I'd say I did a pretty good job.
While I find it ultimately discouraging that I've lost friends over this, I feel it's a necessary evil - the game's health comes first.

I still can't believe its broken, and been broken this long when I'm complaining about my rep and guardian bonuses being removed during an intense short battle. It seems kinda ridiculous in comparison that one method was capped and another was not. Though I guess I should be thankfull for the ultimate weekly SP cap - otherwise where would we have ended?
Regardless the situation needs to be addressed. But how? I'm not the idea man for this one - skill, suit changes, and logi stuff I'm your guy. But for something like this I'll let other minds that have worked on this come up with the details. All I can do is just lend my voice to the issue.

Thing is, it's not our job to come up with the solution - just make the problem known. Ultimately, it's on CCP to fix it and I'm sure they'll come up with far better solutions than we ever will. I wouldn't worry about it so much, honestly. Make take a year and a half but it'll eventually get patched out.

See, and the problem you're pointing out is one that shouldn't be brought up: time of the timers. If CCP wants this to be an international game, then they have to allow everyone to play. By allowing everyone to play, then you have to have the servers up at all times for them to play. Having a feature added that is time dependent has to be able to be customized to meet the timers of h
those that have it. By stopping all non-wherever you live timers is only hurting everyone but you and those close to you. By isolating those groups on their own PC map, then they have no competition and can own the whole map and then just collect isk hand over fist (look at squad cup team entrances for a real example of this where the Asian bracket had all of 2 entries). This is not on the table from CCP's stand point, but what should be is fixing the system so that you don't have to hope that you catch a district before it is self-locked.
The amount isn't dubious and you're obviously an alt with the ability launch/control said things based on your statement... go afk for 2+ hours in one of your own empty PCs and see what you get. Once again, like I explained before, isk earned is based on time in match, with an extra multiplier added since it is a PC match. Go in one of your own district locks and see for yourself. Take pictures and mask your name and corp... Help fix the problem by showing proof you obviously have access too. |

The suggestion of removing clone packs from PC is the worst idea of all. As the largest landowner in PC i'm sure it seem like a non self-serving idea to prevent new corps from entering PC, but the community is wise to see past that flagrant advantage to AE and ally's.
Presumptions that I have districts and thus justify allegations of partisanship in this matter through insinuations of engaging in district locking mentioned in the OP is a rather lame maneuver of preventing discussion.

I think you completely missed the point of not only what I said, but also another post I had made prior. As you stated earlier, you checked on the biomass payment for your corp from such an endeavor (or, at least, the connotations were there that that is what you checked), and so I said, if that is what you are doing, then hop in the match and AFK, yourself, and see the gains. The amount given was from an AFK PC that was performed by a now non-land holding corporation (not ANONYMOUS) that was using their district solely for farming isk... I know several who were involved (and based on your above post, you probably do too) who had earned the amount I mentioned. The request to join such a PC was that the player kept 2 million isk and gave the remaining to the corporation/CEO that held the land. The figure is accurate... and if you had read my post and what I said, you would see nothing more then me suggesting that if you're already locking districts then to gather the proof for yourself. Since you're hiding behind an alt, you can say whatever you want or to impose any angle that you see fit.
Now, to the other part of selective reading, you left out that I, on page 3 (on a cell phone so this is based on memory) you will note I provided 3 points. There are several routes that could be taken by this implications... increasing the cost of clone packs to some economically equal cost (lets say 60 million), remove isk pay outs from PC if the enemy is a no-show (for both sides), and to fix the bug that would return the isk of the clone pack upon launching a no-show PC. This is one of several routes that could be taken, however, I am not a member of CCP development and do not have the same statistical data that they have and therefore this is from an outsider who has no other way of coming up with ideas then as an armchair quarterback. What I am asking for, is for them to acknowledge that they are truly looking into a fix for this and that they have some ideas for a way to fix it.
Also, your step to say that we would greatly benefit from the clone packs is true, but so would locking our districts... but we don't. I proposed that thought ALONG with the thought that they could greatly increase the cost of clone packs in order to put a preventive measure in place until the time that they release their actual patch for this.
If you want anything else discussed, please either post on your main or prove in some way that you actually have skin in the game. I have the courtesy of posting and discussing this on my main, please provide this courtesy to the others who are wanting this openly discussed and fixed. |

I think you completely missed the point of not only what I said, but also another post I had made prior. As you stated earlier, you checked on the biomass payment for your corp from such an endeavor (or, at least, the connotations were there that that is what you checked), and so I said, if that is what you are doing, then hop in the match and AFK, yourself, and see the gains. The amount given was from an AFK PC that was performed by a now non-land holding corporation (not ANONYMOUS) that was using their district solely for farming isk... I know several who were involved (and based on your above post, you probably do too) who had earned the amount I mentioned. The request to join such a PC was that the player kept 2 million isk and gave the remaining to the corporation/CEO that held the land. The figure is accurate... and if you had read my post and what I said, you would see nothing more then me suggesting that if you're already locking districts then to gather the proof for yourself. Since you're hiding behind an alt, you can say whatever you want or to impose any angle that you see fit. b.) because aforementioned assumption is false I need more proof than your lousy claim
c.) thus C, you continue to make claims that are only that. You have to prove your claim...not tell the person that's curious for proof to go do it themselves.
d.) increasing the cost of entry into PC more...fail. 90% of the playerbase already can't be bothered to contest PC because of the isk sink in taking 1 district. 180 million to take a cargo hub assuming you can fight 450 clones with just 360? Fail...
e.) until proven otherwise there is no isk payout aside from the clone pack refund if both sides no show thus "remove isk pay outs from PC if the enemy is a no-show (for both sides)" is another...fail.
f.) This has not been acknowledged as a bug. I personally think refunding a pack you can't show to is a healthy endictment of PC being 2 costly and an attempt at helping it be less so.
g.) what would locking your districts do for you? Unless you weren't blue to PD (17%), NS (22%), PFC (10%), DDB (8%), and other corps you refuse to attack like knightz? In all you blued up about 75% of MH and complain about needing to snipe contracts? Fail.

The only thing I know is true is that you can lock districts and no show and snipe your timer and get the money back if no one shows. Could you not simply put a spy into another corp to begin showing battles, or mayhap tell the other corp when the battle is and then narrow down when the timer comes online?
If the offending corp must camp his own timer, does he too have the same chance you do....or is it a server preference that allows the home team an advantage?
DDB seems to have little issue camping timers to get attacks in...seems they simply need to start winning versus their opponents whose districts they snipe.
We have tested and confirmed this. So have multiple people in this thread. I have finally gotten devs involved (they knew people were locking, but didn't realize that they were doing it at a profit). So, yeah... Evidence on our side. NEXT!

District is always open timers open every day at same time (timers cannot be changed)... every district has a different open hour (for example 2:00 then the next district 3:00 and so on and so on.)... every district has 200 clones defense and clone packs are 150 clones ... There is only one chance to defend district ... If there is a successful defense then owning corp receives isk payout ... This will lead to every corp having a chance to own a district at their best time...
