CCP,
There is a major issue with PC. In case you haven't noticed, there are several corps that keep their districts locked up with friendly attacks for months. I was wondering how they were able to do this for so long, I assumed that they were losing ISK when doing this. I know you made changes to "fix this," but you forgot one case. This issue is corp A wants to lock up their districts so that they can never lose their districts and they want to still make money. They have an alt corp B that they can launch attacks from. What happens is they launch a clone pack attack from corp B, costing them 36 million ISK. When the battle occurs, both sides no show(no points hacked). When the battle expires, corp A has gotten a clone regen, and corp B received their entire 36 mil back. Corp B launches a new attack and the process repeats. This allows a corp to keep their districts locked up indefinately without losing ISK, in fact, they still get their clone regen and a corresponding genolution payout. This mechanic is breaking PC and allowing corps to operate without fear of ever losing their districts and making ISK since their district is ALWAYS "Under Attack.".
CCP, this needs to change, They should only get the genolution value of 120 clones back, ~12 million.
Please contact me if you have any questions. I appreciate your quick fix to the Logi LLAV infinate distance rep that was being abused in PC when I brought it to your attention, please do the same here.... It is ruining PC.

Thank you.
OMG!!! Thank you for letting us know that this is being looked into. This has been a major issue for a while and we finally figured out exactly what they were doing. I am hoping that mechanic is not intended (cause it breaks PC) and that it will be fixed. Let me know if you need any more information. We need a speedy resolution to this.
The funny thing is that the last time DDB posted about something being exploited in PC and it got fixed, we were accused of being a secret DEV corp. Funny stuff, eh?

LOL you all are just finding out about this. Its been happening for as long as I can remember and CCP has known about it as well.
We didn't know that you guys were actually making money doing it. We figured that the clones were being sold at standard genolution prices. I cannot believe that people were OK with blatantly abusing this. It is kinda sad that corps had to keep their districts locked for months to stay in PC. Keq is capable of holding their own in PC, so I don't understand why you guys participated in it.

Bump. Could you provide us with an update?
We also found out that players are getting insane amounts of is if they sit through the match and don't hack points.

Game-breaking? No you just have to attack the contract before hey do. Stupid as hell? Yeah.
that is the problem... You have to be sitting there and snipe the district within seconds of it coming unlocked. That is silly Silly but not game breaking. What's more difficult, waking up at 4 am with 16 to play for 22% of MH, or sniping a district between 9-10pm with 1 person? The problem being all this will do is actually create more profit because the corps will just collude and agree to atack each others districts so that 1 clones arrives. Then we're back at camping timers. Also, just checked, skittles was incorrect that you get genolution in any form sans the return of the clone pack. I'd like to see this new concern answered. Why replace locking districts with more locked districts, at essentially no cost? Edit: Also, until we have proof the idea that you could have characters camp the match and be paid 8-10 million because of time spent in match is dubious.
You didn't do it correctly. Or they fixed it, which would be awesome news.

Scrappy Bernard wrote:You have no response for how a fix is going prevent corps from sending clones to lock each others districts?
The suggestion of removing clone packs from PC is the worst idea of all. As the largest landowner in PC i'm sure it seem like a non self-serving idea to prevent new corps from entering PC, but the community is wise to see past that flagrant advantage to AE and ally's.
Presumptions that I have districts and thus justify allegations of partisanship in this matter through insinuations of engaging in district locking mentioned in the OP is a rather lame maneuver of preventing discussion.
I'm sure continuing to engage in such malfeasance is easier than answering quarries over how best to proceed in rectification.
Edit: Skittles you sir have to prove the corp get's anything but the genolution as it is you making the claim.
And it most certainly is dubious that you can make 8-10 mill per person Demens.
It's simply a claim until proof is proffered.
The only thing I know is true is that you can lock districts and no show and snipe your timer and get the money back if no one shows. Could you not simply put a spy into another corp to begin showing battles, or mayhap tell the other corp when the battle is and then narrow down when the timer comes online?
If the offending corp must camp his own timer, does he too have the same chance you do....or is it a server preference that allows the home team an advantage?
DDB seems to have little issue camping timers to get attacks in...seems they simply need to start winning versus their opponents whose districts they snipe.
We have tested and confirmed this. So have multiple people in this thread. I have finally gotten devs involved (they knew people were locking, but didn't realize that they were doing it at a profit). So, yeah... Evidence on our side. NEXT!

Please contact me about this. We have some solutions in mind and would love to help with the process. It took me forever to get you guys to understand the full extent of this issue and I am sure we can help you with some of the programmatic pitfalls, which created this issue in the first place.

Your proposed changes made no sense and destroyed all the equalizing mechanics built into PC. I don't decide what constitutes common sense, the monkeys do.
