How are TVs still available in the analogy? BPOs are no longer on sale. And the BPOs taken were not out of date, the new content we have contains equivalent modules to them. They could have easily been replaced.
And LG sells phones. Seriously? You'd be happy having your TV taken away, so long as you were given access to a phone that you now know could be taken away just as easily, and that you probably didn't want in the first place?

I don't really care how my money is used, especialy in a VIDEO GAME. I see all of my investment as just that...investment. The measly $100 I've put into the game is my show of support to the company and hopefully goes to further improving the game(s) I happen to enjoy. After all, it's just MONEY. There is always more of it...
That does not make me a naive or uneducated consumer. It makes you guys overly self-entitled ones. It only furthers the point when you all try to act like you are having a sudden revelation when in reality you are hopping on the bandwagon.
The fact that this entire scandal happened is moronic and shows just how toxic of consumers gamers really are. A huge fuss for some VIRTUAL items that were next-to-useless anyway. That passion should be put toward more useful things, but I doubt that any of you are capable of that. The only thing this is going to accomplish (and has been for a while now) is CCP and other developers are going to do their best to restrict VIDEO GAMES by putting them further beyond legal contracts and paywalls to ensure that some other jackass doesn't try to find the tiniest clause that they can use to cause damage.
...all at the expense of people trying to enjoy playing f*cking video games...

I kind of c it like this.
Where the company is based is where they know the laws.
In Sweden we have countless of foreign companies that get sued ( not only Internet business ) where they al are saying after that they belived that the laws was the same as at home.
I work with things like this ( in construction ) and I can say this companies tend to be a bit ignorant when going "over seas"
Is does not matter if its a us/Swedish/Korean or whatever they am have this tendency.
however they learn as they grow from a domestic to a multinational company, but with al the laws and courtsystems in the world it's kind of a jungle for them.
Oh and I also must say that companies also wins a lot in courts it's actually them that wins the most to be honest.
Me personly don't have any problems ( in lack of a better word ) with that one can win in one country and loose in a other, it's different cultures, different perspectives, different systems, different countries, and that my friend is one of the marvelles of the world that in riches it.

But the currency still technically has worth. You can still use the refund on other things like boosters and consumable gear. Of course it would be a whole lot better if Dust mercs had access to vanity items like what we have for Eve Online's Noble Exchange store.

The Sony CSR probably got bored to tears halfway through OP's explanation of how BPOs worked and pressed the "make $10 store credit appear from thin air" button while following the script of "hmm yes we understand your concerns completely" and sending him a form letter

you ahvent bought anything with real money in DUST though. you payed CCP to allow you access to content that was specifically stated as being CCP's sole discretion of existence, you own nothing in DUST, and as long as you play DUST, you play and use CCP's property at their grace, if they want to take an item away and give you a different one, then that is their right to do so.
you people shoulda been grateful to get AUR back at all, plenty of BPO's in EVE can no longer be used at ALL (such as the python Mine BPO) and the people who invested to buy it never got anythign back, they were just told "hey you got a collector item dust magnet now!" |

My point was that I don't intend to leave. Apparently you missed that.
You also seem to have confused the concept of entitlement and the concept of a fair trade.
I haven't suffered for these changes, since the only BPOs I own are ones bought in packs, so your assessment of my objections is way off.
All I am doing is advocating a higher level of business practice. I'm not calling the game sh*t, nor is this issue trivial. The game relies upon the money made from Aurum sales, and the reliability of its developers.
If you're happy being treated like a chump for your custom, go right ahead and shovel more money into CCP's pockets for an inferior product.
