Are you kidding, there already pretty much useless, everyone now is basically armor tanking and dmg modding. Now not only are ppl running around with plates thats way more hp, that has even less movement penalty than before with dmg mods, ccp is gonna punish the few ppl who dare to use the shield extenders.
Wow, this is really stupid on ccp's part, and if we dont like it oh well guess what you can wait till 1.8. A whole month, just to hope for an extender penalty to be removed or the base hp be buffed, great job ccp now shields suck even more. Do ever play more than a match or two at a time ccp, this is ridiculous, thnx a lot for nothing.
p.s. I will praise you for the new weapons ty so much it's about time, now if only you were not making everything about my caladari suit useless, I might have a descent suit to use them on.

It's a tough pill to swallow.
To me, I think the penalty is to address dual tankers. REALLY hurts shield tankers for now though.
But if you're going to rebalance the 2, it's best to get the penalty (which would eventually be added anyways) out of the way. Now they can focus more on how to BUFF shields to make them viable without having to rebalance again in a few moths when they add the penalty.
Sucks for us shield tankers for a solid month though. God Caldari FW is going to be terrible. |

Bro, I like your way of thinking, but I hardcore disagree. Shields already suck, and in no way, shape, or form should ext be getting a nerf when there already so terrible.( out of the way ) Yea thats for sure, all shield tankers is out of the way now, gj ccp. They should have nerfed armor, buffed shield base hp or something before the nerf came at least imo.

I think thats what should happen, or either in between armor plates and what they are now, that should put a balance to things.

Until cores don't do 30% more to armor....unless the penalty is HUGE then i'm not complaining.

Hey man I hate it as much as you just trying to get an idea where CCPs head is at.
If you buffed shields without a penalty then you just buffed brick tanking, which is stupid.
Plus now that shields are basically at absolute zero we can rebuild them to be more viable. Better for long term balance doing it this way until waiting to throw a wrench into the system with the penalty (again eventually MUST be added or brick tanking would be king.) I don't want another "rebalance" in 3 months.
Again this MUST be what CCP is thinking, or else they just hate us shield tankers.

So maybe like I said, they should make em in between what that are now and plates, for example: a complex shield ext.. about 90 hp or so. But as of now who really wants to use shields, something needs to be done, and the point is most likely it will be 1.8 or later before its done.

I kind of like this idea. By the way, is dual tanking using shield extenders and armor plates? If so is it a bad thing? Because I do it, for I am a logi and do not want to use damage mods and be a murder logi. |

Yea, except most ppl still use dmg mods, and then in that case your a lot lower. If you dont dmg mod, well from what I can tell your screwed. That would just make where a caladari might could compete.
I'm sure not gonna use a kinetic cat or cardiac mod on my assault suit, and I have to run a cpu enhancer basically if I want a good fit and I need to rep, so even on proto I get 1 plate LOL. We need more hp. Else I feel the time for shield extenders are over with at least they are for me.

I prefer 90 (2/3 of 1 armor plate). But you are talking Assault. Assault has issues because of CPU/PG mods, not the tanking mods.
I think PG mods can be moved into highs to help with this. May have to address how CPU or PG enhancers work (make them uniform).

As a logi I will be more than happy to rep your armor. The militia repair tool does 40 HP/sec, and since most of you seem to be using around 500-600 armor, that's 15 seconds until you are fully repped, by someone using a militia tool. With my proto repper I could rep your armor in 8 seconds from up to 31 meters away, and keep you alive under all but the most intense fire.
Shield tankers have to deal with a minimum 8 second delay, plus the recharge time, which could be up to 20-30 seconds. Not to mention that the delay is reset if they take damage again, adding at minimum 5 seconds. There is no outside method of decreasing delay times or increasing recharge rate (aside from the Charybdis which is just lol).
BTW, a Gallente Logi with no highs and 5x complex plates can get up to 967 HP in armor HP alone, while still carrying a Duvolle, Core Locus Grenades, a Wiyrkomi Triage Hive, K-2 Nanohives, and a Duvolle Quantum Active Scanner. Movement speed is 4.07 and sprint speed is 5.98 with biotics maxed out. Add repper beams and you have an unkillable logi of death.
Downgrade the plates to 5x basic plates and you have 692 HP worth of armor, but for a total cost of 50 CPU and 5 PG, less than a single complex shield extender. With this extra CPU/PG you can equip 3x complex damage mods and add an Allotek nanohive while upgrading your K-2 to an Ishukone Gauged. Movement speed is 4.44 and sprint is 6.53.
Man, Gal Logi and armor with outside rep are totally the FOTM. |

You do know that in 1.7 that theirs a penalty with Shield Extenders. Each time you put one on your Shield Regen will Reduce, so no matter if the Shields Extenders have 135 (Proto variant of Plates) their shield will recharge very slow... |
