But since the influx of those that cannot think for themselves have begun to pollute these forums, and the game in general, this call for one nerf after another has not down anything for maintaining the existing player base. Combine this with the a change in personnel at CCP, we are going to have a COD clone before we know it.
Leave well enough alone UNTIL ALL OF THE RACIAL VARIANTS are available, including the basic weapons. This is about ground warfare, and sooner or latter a logi is going to have to slay in order to ensure the survival of their squad. This is especially so with the Amarrian designs.
If anything, the Assaults should be made more viable with better skill bonus, and there also could be changes in the the racial and dropsuit bonuses. But to enable peopleGÇÖs expectations of One game style (i.e., COD of BF) to be overlaid onto DUST seems counterproductive to the idea of freedom of creative problem solving that seems so intrinsically EVE and New Eden.
Why are so many people attempting to take the ideas of GÇ£logisticsGÇ¥ that exists for the pilots and imposing it upon the ground troops. As I WOULD NOT EXPECT to impose my version or understanding of what one role or another should be for a pilot when I am a ground pounder. So these arguments about how apples are representative of oranges is ridiculous.

If I can't carry a light weapon on my Amarr Logi, it completely redefines how the Amarr Logi is supposed to be the combat focused one.

What about this:
Stop making these quick solutions, everyone knew there was a problem from the start UPRISING was released.
Go back to beta, redesign all roles + implement all races. While in beta, you can add new game modes and see how the different roles will react to those modes.

Rather than slow, gradual changes with lots of discussion and opportunities for feedback, you want CCP to lock themselves away for several months and then spring something completely different on us?

While capable of defending themselves, I feel that a Logi's -focus- should be on supporting his team and there should be design based around that. Bonuses should be redone to compliment their ability to support their team whilst they rely on modules and their load-out for survivability as opposed to the Assault class which is based on offensive capability and the Heavy on defensive capability.

Maybe they'll make it so certain equipment cost a lot less on logis and nerf the cpu and pgu to be closer to an assault. That way they can't fit as much tank without a pg or cpu upgrade to make them a somewhat weaker assault logi if they wanted to be.

Why are so many people surprised that the logi needs to be toned down in one area or another?
It is really not strange that this class' offensive abilities have to be toned down, and the support abilities should be enhanced.
To me it is not really a good idea to buff the assault and basic frames, because that means (probably) a more extensive work to rebalance scout/assault/heavy. Which in turn means that CCP can focus more time on linking dust into the New Eden universe.
Maybe you logis should just bite the bullet when the logi is fixed (nerfed)?

Seriously. If you take away the Light Weapon slot I am done with Logis and that means done with DUST. You removed most of their WP and I stuck with it. The TTK with nothing to respond with is ... typical of CCP/Shanghai.
Just let us know which release it is in. Once it is official I am out of here.
To think I was dumb enough to put this much time in a game that turns around and repeated stabs the players in their backs. Our time, dedication and money means nothing to CCP nor CCP/Shanghai. It was stupid of me to believe that DUST was going to be great. Yes it had potential. But that was fixed with Uprising. It ain't coming back. |

Logis are supposed to be a support unit only. Hence the term logistics. Christ almighty the entitlement is hilarious. What the hell did you think you were signing up for? At most you should have a sidearm and thats it. What you should be asking for are deployable turrets, barricade welding and other shenanigans that actually has to do with your class. Actually, the logistics class was designed to be a highly versitale suit capable of performing the duties of whatever is needed at the time. Nowhere in it's description does it say that the logistics class was designed for support only.
Try again. And since we are using this logic, the equipment slot needs to be removed from the other classes in the game, as the equipment is for support and apparently the logistics is the only class designed for support.
What did I sign up for you ask? I signed up for a combat medic. What I didn't sign up for was to be somebody's Personal Slave, Human Ambulance, or PEZ Dispenser.
The sidearm only nerf idea wouldn't even solve the problem, as you'd just have people stacking complex sidearm mods running around with Carthum SCR Pistols and Ishukone SMGs like some yellow cowboys in the Old West.
It instead is masking the true problem here. The real problem lies in the fact that pretty much every role in the game in this build is horrible at their designed role.
And as for logis being FoTM, what else did you expect? To use the Assault or Logis, we have to have that race's medium dropsuit operation to level three. Answer this question Himiko. Why would I skill into assaults twice? For a bonus that's so terrible and irrelevant to my class that it's near useless?
