Now that tanks are UP instead of OP you flail about for a bit then explode in a fireball. Actual good players can make UP stuff work, they dont need it to be OP to be efficient.

there are 2 battles going in every match ..infantry vs infantry and av /vs vehicle ...now while vehicles are currently crippled there effect is not noticeable ...but soon tankers will carry bombarding teams to outer objectives sniper immune ..:) im real excited for tanks to be back |

They weren't that hard before, and with the new roflwatergun POS AV that we will have due to tankers not being good enough to survive an entire match; they'll be even easier.
Just gotta retreat to a supply depot when you ammo runs low.
When tanks can push out 15k EHP, a STD swarm will do jack $#!t.

Being only vulnerable against 10% of the weapon on the field must have been really dangerous, ive seen many Tank Vids from the "GOOD" players and they have the situational awareness of a fish.

Yeah ...thats allot of sweet skills they got there...its like most heavy players, they are in that suit for a reason, so they at least get to act surprised when they get nailed by someone with 0.16 ms reaction times.
And then there are the Heavies sitting in a tank ....as if the 10k ehp isnt already enough...
Tanks need to require at most 1 person trying to activly counter the vehicle otherwise its OP, say if CCP allowed 16 tanks on the field and it requires 6 of us to counter one tank, we would need 96 people working together, unless you want vehicles to have a more anti-vehicle role, but then vehicles need to deal allot less damage to infantry.
I just ignore tanks, the chance they get to kill me is awfully low, with a mobility setup suit and their exxcellent aim + some cover = getaway for free card anyways.

The best tankers were in extremely high demand and if you were good, corps would pay out the ass to have you fight for them. I wasn't recognizable until the end of chrome, so I didn't start getting paid much until Uprising to fight for corps, and ive stoppped tanking for the last couple months, but come 1.7 im gonna make a come back as the most feared railgun caldari tanker in the game since Slap and Hotch. 3000 DPS, anyone? :D

hmmm...you've never been in a tank have you..? There was a reason that less than 20 tankers, even in chrome, were good. - nobody was smart enough to understand the finer points of it. Infantry don't have to worry about turret depression, module cooldown, or anything like that. Good tankers are CONSTANTLY counting things. We calculate everything we do before we do it because one mistake costs about 2.25 mil (chrome numbers)
We had tank game which is actually much more complicated than gun game. I do both, so I would know.
Imagine playing a game where you have a red arrow over your head at all times- that's just the beginning of it. Now consider that you are the highest priority target on the field.

because swarms are light AV designed to take out light vehicles. Forges are heavy AV and designed to take out heavy vehicles. If you want to kill tanks, get a forge gun and sentinal suit like the real AV players who the tanks actually respect. Notice how most tankers don't mind being killed by forges? It's because it takes them real skill to hit us- not YOLO SWARMS AV NADES DEAD TANK.

I think tanks are fine now. I think they are pretty effective if used well with infantry. Nyan San does great in ambush pubs with their tanks.... When it comes to competitive PC games, again, tanks are fine. They get burned by the dozen but they definitely have a role. And as a tanker if you run vehicles in PC your corp should reimburse you for losses.
Eff you to ppl who lament chromo with its 30-0 tank runs, especially since those tanks were running solo w/o infantry support. I really don't get what you guys are whining about. |

Actually I back this one. Grenades are ridiculous in this game, period. And swarms - dumbest weapon ever made. Worse than AR with aimbot. Literally a weapon that shoots and scores for you. And you can totally run a fit with swarms and use a good SMG to feel safe against infantry.
Nades and swarms need to be reworked, not the whole AV vs V framework.

you do realize that nyain san backs out of pubs where the odds aren't stacked in their favor, right?
tanks do not work in PC.
They did not fulfill their role in Chrome because they were very strong all the time. They dont work strong because they are never strong. Hopefully, 1.7 will bring them to their roles of 'seige guns' and 'battering rams' used to takw out hard targets at range or smash through hard defenses, very quickly, but not being sustainable for long periods of time.

oh really? then why dont you go try out tanking and tell me how it is? every tanker in dust has adv av and a proto suit+weapon by now so we can talk; you can't.
face it: we are going to be harder to kill than ever since Chromosome. We will be tankier than in chrome, do more damage, and move faster. all of our modules are more powerful and lolswarms and yolo nades got nerfed harder than anything since tanks lost their PG.

Glass cannons won't be hitting with 5000dmg, but a little less than 3000, so not terrible at all. Once again, nothing will hit harder than a tank turret :D Not even a yolo nade ;)

I do miss those days even if at time I was not a tanker, the only real problem back then was the abusers; i.e.: 2 guys deciding to get 2 suryas in an ambush match or a sagaris camping in red line with over 10 000 HP.
Now that I have a second account with HAV I know about the problems of them in uprising, a single guy with proto swarms and a logi vehicle can make your match a living hell, or the fact that my 800 000 ISK vehicle should be running away from a scout with La Dais. Examples like this ridicules the role of a tanker and they are now called to battle in PC just for the other team to have guys in AV all the time, no joke in here.
As an active Forge gunner and HAV pilot I am more than happy to the changes over swarm missiles, as I always tell them: "You use those swarms and chase me because you can only aim something that's at least 30 ft. long, and for that you need auto-aim" |

I know several Chromo tankers that did so. milo cordelli, CharChar here. And I know a few that do now (redlining). But come 1.7, we will see who the true tankers are. I might stay in tanks, but I doubt it. I got a date with rail rifles and proto logi.
