I think tanks are fine now. I think they are pretty effective if used well with infantry. Nyan San does great in ambush pubs with their tanks.... When it comes to competitive PC games, again, tanks are fine. They get burned by the dozen but they definitely have a role. And as a tanker if you run vehicles in PC your corp should reimburse you for losses.
Eff you to ppl who lament chromo with its 30-0 tank runs, especially since those tanks were running solo w/o infantry support. I really don't get what you guys are whining about. |

Only the best profited; there were about 20 of us back then and everyone knew who we were. People would spawn with swarm launchers ready. it was glorious
I still remember seeing gunlogis with 7500 HP AND a shield booster of madrugars with well over 15000 EHP while reppers were on. yup. Tanks were tanks. Then the ARs nerfed us.
1.7- we will be making a return. 15000 EHP is coming back. Madrugars will be able to take 12 shots from swarm launchers. with hardeners on. Gunlogis, about 8. Glass cannons won't be hitting with 5000dmg, but a little less than 3000, so not terrible at all. Once again, nothing will hit harder than a tank turret :D Not even a yolo nade ;) Another tanker thinking that they should be godlike and invincible while being the only viable counter to it's class. *Sigh* I wonder how many tanks will be on the field now. I expect a "team-quota has been reached" every match. But thanks for proving my point. Some idiots refused to believe that tank pilots want to be "god mode" and the only viable counter to it's own class. awws another scrubby av user thats afraid they wont be able to cut it come 1.7 Cut what? I'm a tanker and I will use HAVs in 1.7. They weren't that hard before, and with the new roflwatergun POS AV that we will have due to tankers not being good enough to survive an entire match; they'll be even easier. Just gotta retreat to a supply depot when you ammo runs low. When tanks can push out 15k EHP, a STD swarm will do jack $#!t. because swarms are light AV designed to take out light vehicles. Forges are heavy AV and designed to take out heavy vehicles. If you want to kill tanks, get a forge gun and sentinal suit like the real AV players who the tanks actually respect. Notice how most tankers don't mind being killed by forges? It's because it takes them real skill to hit us- not YOLO SWARMS AV NADES DEAD TANK.
Actually I back this one. Grenades are ridiculous in this game, period. And swarms - dumbest weapon ever made. Worse than AR with aimbot. Literally a weapon that shoots and scores for you. And you can totally run a fit with swarms and use a good SMG to feel safe against infantry.
Nades and swarms need to be reworked, not the whole AV vs V framework.

I really don't get what you guys are whining about. you do realize that nyain san backs out of pubs where the odds aren't stacked in their favor, right? tanks do not work in PC. They did not fulfill their role in Chrome because they were very strong all the time. They dont work strong because they are never strong. Hopefully, 1.7 will bring them to their roles of 'seige guns' and 'battering rams' used to takw out hard targets at range or smash through hard defenses, very quickly, but not being sustainable for long periods of time.
I would not mind it; just don't want to see tanks roll 30-0 again that's all. |
