Avallo Kantor wrote:Personally, I'd be a bit happier if DUST and EVE UNIs trained their students in Combined Arms relations and communication, so that players of both sides get valuable experience in communicating with the each game, as well as 101 courses of the other Game so EVE Uni grads have a moderate understanding of Dust, and vice versa.
That and some OB coordination training would go along way to helping both games grow closer. After all, if the "new generation" of both Dust and EVE players are comfortable, used to, and familiar with the other game it will only further push along the concept of the games being further unified. We do many lectures about virtually any topic (we just don't make them public due to trolls etc).
As for combined arms? Could you please elaborate on what you mean.
Communication, a large part of our members don't have a mic so it is a little difficult but we have come up with a sort of "sign language" for players that can't talk.
I can't speak for the others but when I'm running a squad and we gat an OB, I'll ask if anyone wants to be the one to drop it and if so I make them SL and walk them through how to do it.

I'm tired of the constant QQ messages, especially after downing someone many times with an enh weapon with no mods. Besides, playing mostly EU ambush l do meet lots of other proto squads from gac, wtf, various russians and others. Go play FW You run in a full protosquad .. in .. Ambush ... seriously ?? Look we all know the system is flawed, if you always went up against those other protosquads and had no new players to improve your stats you;d be whinging and whining about dying more, the simple fact is you run Ambush in a proto suit with other people in protosuits in a squad to go around ganking and killing new players ... The people complaining and sending you hatemail will always be the guys new to the game who have 1m sp that you are killing over and over and over again .. you have no gun game and need the 600hp and huge damage advantage to kill the guys rolling in militia and you're deluded if you actually think any different Your a ganker, you don't have the skill to be anything else First off, the competition is normally a lot harder in Ambush than it is in any other game mode. 9 of 10 skrmish battles I play leads to 3 minutes of fighting and 10 minutes of redlining, which is really boring and a much bigger stomp than anything we do in Ambush. People are deluded and think the best players play the so called "tactical" game modes, my experience is very different. Ambush is a game that only focus on killing and staying alive, its natural that it will draw players that like it and want to be good at it. And secondly, you have no idea how my gungame is, Iknow very well at what level I play at. Enough to get invites from the top corps the time I played solo, good enough to get hired for PC over and over again. Just because I prefer a game mode with mostly constant action, doesn't mean anything about my abilities. I can't handle running around on a map hacking a bunch of stuff, its really boring. I've played a great deal of FW lately, and its a complete redline after 3 minutes most of the time. The average "tactical game mode" player base simply doesn't have the gungame for it. Bring back skirmish 1.0 or any sort of capture the flag game mode and I'll probably never play ambush again....
Wave your EPEEN around as much as you like I honestly couldnt careless and I find it funny that you'd even try that as a counter to my points
Everything I said in my original posy is spot on, you can deny it all you like (I expected you to deny it) but the real problem is people like you doing these things without even knowing just how bad it is for the game .. |

What i want to know is this. why the heck does every one care about something as worthless as gun game and skill? It does nothing good for you except making you *think* you accomplished something when in reality you accomplished nothing. All you people complaining about this stuff need to grow up. Im sure more than half of you are over the age of 20. If you start playing the game and stop caring about worthless stats you will start having fun again. Its just a video game. At any given moment they can just shut the whole thing down. Think about that. all this so called hard work flushed down the toilet in seconds. Just play to play you will have way more fun that way. Trust me i used to care about this stuff way to much. Then i just learned to play and have fun. k/d is not important neither is winning. What matters is did you enjoy the moment good or bad. Cmon you guys your better than this. |

I would have to say in defense of KingBarbar that I have never seen her backout of a game even if their proto squad are about to loose a match or dies several times unlike some other infamous protobears. I just wish she would stop spamming core locus grenades, those accounts for 90% of me deaths fighting their proto squad, it is just not fun and I try to run away and only engage red dots outside of grenade range. |

To be totally honest, I'm one of those people, but I will explain why. It's simple really.
Generally we complain about stuff like that because, in the heat of the moment, we get really pissed off at the fact that we aren't at that level yet ourselves. It's frustrating enough to get taken out over and again, but to get mercilessly beaten on the battlefield is even more so.
In summary, we get frustrated, but it is a totally legitimate part of the game. Heck, I'm working my way there as well!
So even though I'm gonna get pissed, play on as you see fit. If you've taken the time to afford a proto build that rocks, then more power to you! |

Nothing is wrong with it; do what you want and I'll do what I want.
Sometimes it's worth getting stomped by a 6 man proto squad (or two) to get a few proto kills and up my skills.... sometimes I just want a more balanced and challenging back and forth match and I've started to leave proto stomps to get them while wearing my standard gear.
I hope those that I leave behind are enough of a challenge for you. Probably not, but hey - that's your problem. |

I'm already at the proto level, I got 2 proto suits stacked to the gills with modules and equipment, and I got 3 proto weapons to go with them.
I choose NOT to use the, because what's the point in running a fitting that will cost an arm and a leg when you are thrown a blueberry team and have 2 corp squads on the other team.
If Scotty got his act together this might have never happened.

Thank you for the reference. I do not really have any personal issues that grenades are thrown in the game, they are part of the game and both teams can use them. You guys are really good and I do not have any counter against your squads other then trying to keep my distance at minimum 100 meters. I was in an ambush with you yesterday that was very equal and fun, I remember it was around 14-14 clones and then core grenades came flying in huge numbers and the 14 clones we had quickly vanished |

Pub stompers are too funny (funny at them not with them). In our corp we mostly run free to adv suits. We sometimes get butthurt by pub-stomping, but now we have a mental list of pub-stomping corps/names and when we really get sick of it, we will often come in proto for the sole purpose of costing them money. It's laughable how so many pub-stompers brag "gungame" yet are broodingly quiet when someone stomps the stompers. Lately we've even taken to adv-stomping proto-stompers lol.
It's a nice feeling when you translate your kills to ISK and you know you cost someone over 3 times the payout of the match. |
