Just was in a Domination match were Nyain San and Geisha girls were fully stacked on one side, my side were random blueberries. I am came late into the battle as the team was already red lined and was being hit by an orbital as I cloned in. I say our shields were at 50% and there's not even a scratch. I was trying to push out of the red line and was met by a squad of proto's and 2 DS. Thanks to CCP taking away the war barge, I did not have time to prepare for this. No idea who the team or teams I was facing or was teamed up with and this puts you at a disadvantage. I am all for quick game play, but there should be a way to tell if you are going to be facing a proto stomping team.
I came in at 3rd place with just 2 kills 1 death with 215 WP. The highest on our team was 332. First time I died I came in with my proto to counter them and was then met with a tank and 2 LAV's and more DS. I then switched over to SL to counter the tank that was now camping our red line with three squads of proto A** Holes. By the time I fired my first volley they had destroyed our only supply depot. Now I was stuck running SL and was unable to switch fits. They were not satisfied by red lining a team and began to drive there tank and LAVs into our red line.
WTF when do you say I won and sit at the objective and see if the other team can counter you. In my opinion Nyain San is a weak corp and have to pub stomp to feel good about themselves. CCP this is also your fault for allowing two corps to proto stomp on some randoms.
So my question is, should I along with several ringers run Nyain San into the ground and teach them a lesson or should I just walk away from this and shake my fist at CCP?

You should A) Realize this is a team game and stop crying when you run solo B) Realize people deserve the gear they get and stop crying when they use it and most importantly C) Realize match making can't do much for you with such a low player-base so there's not much CCP can do to fix this.
My advice: Get a Logi-LAV and just run past them. That's what I do. |

I don't understand this method of thinking. It seems almost pointless in a very shallow, very selfish and very immature way.
Have you ever dropped into a match with proto stompers and been on their team? Lets say you have, just for arguments sakes.
You drop in....they are proto-stomping it up. You're on the line and racking up kills of your own, +50 Kill all over your screen like a Christmas tree with lights on it. You notice....wait a second, I'm on the protostomping team. How many times have you ever quit, forfeited the isk and the WP and said no this isn't right, I can't be a part of this.?
Exactly.
Zero.
So yeah...its a game, those guys earned their gear and they know how to coordinate and use it and they earn their wins. They protostomp the crap out of you because that's the name of the game. What is puzzling to me, however...is that instead of being on the game and getting weekly bonus SP OR getting tiny 300-500SP when your bonus SP is exhausted...and climbing and scratching your way to proto gear....you are on the forum bitching about protostompers.
Do you not see the fundamental errors with that linear logic? I mean, seriously. |

Stompin is inevitable in this game, I understand and accept this. My only problem with the stompers is the kick a guy when he's down mentality. I find this dishonorable. Example: calling two tanks and camping them at the only spawn point for the losing side. Seen this a couple times.
I know the game (like the world) is full of d****.
Before you ask, YES, I do hang back when I'm on the stomping team. Guard an objective and collect my money. I'd rather get stomped. More exciting to try to take on two protos then to gang up on a starter fit. |

First off if my team is doing this, I stay at the objective and guard it. I have morals and I believe in fair game play. The fact that most defend proto stomping from one side of there mouth and then the other they are all about making this game fair and balanced is BS.

I use a Thale because I cant stand using a Charge sniper, the noise is to much. Second I only pull proto if it is pulled on me. The Thale is a single weapon, your squad runs proto squads with tank and DS support see the difference. Now If I ran with a squad of proto's with tanks and red line a team and smash there teeth in than you can call me a hypocrite. I run solo because that is what I choose, but to sit there and watch a team that has better gear red line a team and then have the nerve to drive into the red line so they can pad there KD/R is F****** sad.

Who really cares? This game gives you the same benefits for going 20 and 0 as it does for going 0 and 20, for that matter wrap a rubber band on your controller and spin circles in the rezone and you will get the same rewards as the proto stomper. If you're looking for a competitive shooter to match some type of e bushido this is not it. This game does not deserve the mental anguish that people put themselves through in the effort to enjoy or participate in it. |

Its not about losing suits I have a plethora of money and suits. Its the F***** morals. The point of proto is to use them if you are being challanged by them, PC, and the occasional FW. They were not meant to red line a team and demoralize the new guys, how are you supposed to build a player base if S*** like this keeps going on. I am just trying to point out a problem that is killing our player base. I love a battle that goes down to wire, but to watch a group of blueberries struggling to get out of there red line due a team proto stomping and using tanks is a bit much. Then to top it off, they drive into the F***** red line to pad there KD/R. |

Played a match today, was a Skirmish, and the entire other team was proto stomping, we actualy where able to hold the majority of the objectives, and where killing a few of them, but even tho their MMC was in half armor and ours was in half shields we lost on clones. Why? Because CCP lets entire proto teams pair up against none proto teams, then the proto teams play skirmish like ambush and they completely ignore the objectives, defeating the purpous of strategic play. Clone counts are just there to enable proto stomping teams to farm kills. |

WTF when do you say I won and sit at the objective and see if the other team can counter you. In my opinion Nyain San is a weak corp and have to pub stomp to feel good about themselves. CCP this is also your fault for allowing two corps to proto stomp on some randoms.
So my question is, should I along with several ringers run Nyain San into the ground and teach them a lesson or should I just walk away from this and shake my fist at CCP?
and your corp does not proto stomp the other day you were using a Thale's in a pub so stop your complaining you are a hypocrite I use a Thale because I cant stand using a Charge sniper, the noise is to much. Second I only pull proto if it is pulled on me. The Thale is a single weapon, your squad runs proto squads with tank and DS support see the difference. Now If I ran with a squad of proto's with tanks and red line a team and smash there teeth in than you can call me a hypocrite. I run solo because that is what I choose, but to sit there and watch a team that has better gear red line a team and then have the nerve to drive into the red line so they can pad there KD/R is F****** sad. the noise is too much what does that even mean turn your volume down then, stop complaining about proto gear when you run an officer weapon in pubs and i have seen your corp drop orbitals in red line so once again stop writing stuff pretending your corp does not do them
Again that is my Corp. I run solo, if I turn down the noise I will fail to hear my surrounding. I run solo over 95% of the time, what my corps does I cant say because I run solo. I do not condone red lining a weaker team then running into it to pad my KD/R. What good does that do, congratulations you just made our player base even smaller. |

here's your solution... grind week after week saving sp so you can get your own...
regardless of your rebuttal to this the fact remains, those who have proto gear did exactly this and deserve to bathe in your militia wearing bloody remains...
you want the proto without all the work spend aur and get an equivalent...
you don't like that idea? then refer to suggestion 1...
don't like either suggestion... squad up and work together to bring the protos down, or once you realize its a stomp, leave the match and find greener pastures to frolic in with your basic gear.
its part of the game as it stands now and unless ccp deigns to change it these threads are nothing more then QQ for the tears ocean.
OP I realize you have proto gear, this is just my anti rant to the pub stomp rants, and quite honestly your corp does its fair share of stomping... I suggest you squad with them... |

I am only one person using a weapon to kill my target. The match I speak of was three squads, tanks, and DS to counter some randoms. Do you see the difference, I one player using a single weapon vs. 3 squads, tanks, and DS's. Also that same group had snipers overlooking the red line, to pick off anyone who cloned in.

This is turning into a problem. That's the draw back of having a game that's ongoing. When you're forced to either protostomp yourself, or be protostomped it turns the game into not fun.
There's no use in even staying in the match anymore. Because if you turn to using Free Starter Fits, then you might as well leave, because you're still not going to obtain any WP. You might as well chalk up to forgoing the ISK and Bonus SP to not wanting to be dead, bored, and annoyed all the time.
I know it's the right for everyone to protostomp, but why are these corps doing it so much? Obviously Nyain San is the most guilty at doing this, and it gets annoying. Even when you do good against them (because they individual are very bad players, including Milkman and Addict) it's still not any fun. Playing a pub with the awareness and tryhardness of a P/C battle is not fun for anyone involved. Its to easy against noobs, and you have nothing to feel good about afterwards. I shouldn't have to break out the Proto gear just to hold my current expectations against 6 guys that are taking the game so seriously. You can achieve the same scores with Standard equipment, but they don't want to leave any room for error; they depend on it. So, if I beat back the Squads of Protostompers, and finish with my regular top score, I worked to darn hard to really appreciate it. I'm to much in tryhard mode to really take the fun away form the match.
And as far as match making goes... what's to stop a vet player from making an alt and going into easy lobbies and still stomping. You already have people making alts to go into the Academy and using AURUM gear to protostomp...
The DUST playerbase are nothing but scrubs that couldn't cut it on other titles, so they banded up on a game that has less than 5000 active players so they could finally be the big fish in a small pond like they always dreamed of...
Funny thing is, all these pubstompers started the game the same time as everyone else 2 years ago, so they never had to deal with the problem. They got to come up the ranks parrel with everyone else. They got in the door first, and aren't budging on their ability to destroy noobs. None of them could start a new character and play it solo for 4 weeks straight and expect to not just go back to using their main character, because they wouldn't stand for it either. Even with the knowledge of the game they have. Heck, you find a solo Nyain San player NEVER at the top of a pub lobby leaderboard... |

First off if my team is doing this, I stay at the objective and guard it. I have morals and I believe in fair game play. The fact that most defend proto stomping from one side of there mouth and then the other they are all about making this game fair and balanced is BS.
I hate being protostomped. I'm still in advanced gear. It sucks to deploy and get your ass handed to you...but I see the point in it. I think the matchmaking should be better...but that's a work in progress.
But you don't see me tearing up and pissing my pants because I lost a MP match on a video game. |

It sucks because I am guilty of running into the redline to get kills in some matches. But there are some matches that the guys just don't put up any fight so in my opinion they deserve the stomping. I hate it when it swings my way and my randoms don't do their part which leads to a thorough stomping.

You just summed up why this game is dying and can't retain players ..
I would rather go buy new games then stick it out with this garbage . Soon right ? It'll be better soon.
Its interesting for me to think about the fact that this game with 5000 people tops has to decide what to fix 1st . With so much wrong and broken with this game it must be hell making the call on what is priority , Knowing that the wrong decision loses you more players .
All I can say for sure is CCP should still be beta testing this game . Not a full releases with special edition packs and aur to buy before the game is done.
With a full scale proper beta test ; You could have seen how X amount of players using Z and Y weapons affects the game play . How are aur weapons going to play out ? Are the weapons balanced? Are people only using 1 or 2 weapon types cause the rest suck? Are the vehicles where we want them ? Do we want lav's to be able to run people over ? Do we want full clans going up against the guys right out of academy? How are we going to let new player try out the weapons as we have no respec option ?
As you are dealing with these problem now its tells me you had very little thought to any of these issues before hand .
You pretty much have said with your actions ....let's get the bare bones out and well fix the game over the next 5 years .
Have fun with all that . I'm sure the hardcore eve players will stick around , but you've left a sour taste in a lot of peoples mouths , And if your big plan is to re-release this for ps4 I think you're gonna have a lot of people who'll feel used and misled.
This will truly have been a spend your money on our beta test . I don't think that's gonna fly with most people .

the answer to your question is simple.... not enough people play the game to separate a 20 mil sp player from the newer players...
the reasons for a small player base are endless, none of which is the players fault...
those who have dedicated their time to play see the fruits of that time with the access to proto gear and those who continue to dedicate that time will eventually have it as well.
I would love to see this game grow and have a fair system implemented that doesn't punish those who have put their time in for using the gear they grinded so hard to get.
I cant make ccp fix their game any quicker, any more than I can make people play, but to punish or slam people who do play for using what they worked so hard to get is ridiculous.
indeed ccp has created a vicious circle with countless bad decisions but the solution isn't to villainize players for playing the game ccp made...
quite honestly if the QQers who cried about proto stomping 3 or 4 months ago were still playing they would be in proto gear as well, but a lot of the people who have played or do play this game lack the patients to grind it out the way the vets have.
furthermore if people would make more effort to squad up, communicate with that squad, and specialize instead of throwing their sp all over the place I don't think proto stomping would be a problem at all.
in closing I would like to say im all about assisting a new player but its just ridiculous to expect me or anyone else to limit my play style to enhance their experience... |

Those vets didn't have to grind while playing against hoards of protostompers... I promise that if any of those vets were to start new today, they would quit too. Since it takes about 3 months of religious play in DUST 514 to be equal in terms of gear and actual in-game experience, nobody is going to stick around for that if they only get 200 WP/game because they are getting slaughtered by scrubs who pick on noobs. All the while, those protostompers are only getting even higher on the mountain, to the point were they don't even need to spend their SP, because they've hit the limit for whatever their role is.
Now that HAVs are becoming more frequent (because the playerbase is finishing off there infantry characters and is moving into HAVs with there SP) the problem will only get worse. DUST is a game for a very niche audience. The religious gamer who plays a game to an obsession. You have to devote so much to DUST in order to be on top of the mountain, and because of the small playerbase, everyone can see the summit, so everyone exploits everything this game has offer to reach it.
The narrower the playerbase gets, the less the game will survive. DUST is already losing money hand-over-fist... making a game that only benefits less than .1% of the gamer population is a futile effort. At this rate, DUST will be scrapped, unless they figure out a whole new system to bring in more money.
Even if all DUST players spent $50/mo in AURUM, DUST would still be losing money. Broken mechanics is one thing, but to add the scrub player base on top of it? Its no wonder they won't even make the game for PS4... they can't afford to (You have to pay Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft, etc for your game to be made for their console). |

Lol wouldn't it be far worse to have to be stomped until mcc was destroyed. Only way I can see this crap ending is by reducing Isk (low enough that no one would bother using proto in them, also remove salvage) and removed k/d from regular public matches. Make FW salvage the same as PC and have FW & PC be the only place k/d counts. |

I can see it now the new advertising campaign: Dust 514 : One war one universe ..... Level up and you too can stomp the few noobs that trickle through!
