Amarr Assaults carrying any kind of laser weapon is bad-muthafunkin-ass

The extra low slot has made the Amarr assault hilariously strong.
Really enjoying stomping with it now.

I've been using triple damage mod, 3x plate 1x rep + allotek hives.

In Pubs the suit is ridiculous. PC though, it's still lacking.

Hotfix Bravo has brought us a glorious gift: 3 Highs 4 Lows on the Assault ak.0 and 2 Highs 3 Lows on the Assault A/1

Logged in to all my fits that had 454/459 CPU and 92/92 PG all of a sudden had one more available slot to fill, had to make some sacrifices but I think I've found my main fits to use for this patch:

Amazing regeneration ability I can actually assault points now with my Amarr Assault (though only in pubs), the low slot added a slight oomph that was much needed for this suit, had to downgrade the extender I had on the high to an enhanced on all the fights to accomodate for the extra low but I haven't decided if 50 more shields is better than having 4% extra damage on my ScR or Sidearm, more testing to be done.

Heavies still mow down medium frames like nothing though, and although operating solely on the ground is possible, I found that my best PC games with the suits are ones where I am able to have tactical overwatch or the ability to use my environment to dictate my rules of engagement. The assault suit still doesn't "assault" well enough IMO

The added low slot is a step in the right direction, at least for ak.0 users, but assaults still need a defined role I feel.

I've been away for a good 3 weeks I think and my has a lot changed.

Been seeing waaaayyy more assaults on the field (way too much) but still haven't seen anything spectacular from any new names, been seeing very little of the old names too sadly.

Thought I'd bring this thread back with the sudden emergence of Amarr Assault fanaticism and list my newest, most succesful, fit:

Currently my most efficient suit, and a emergence of my pre 1.5 play style of: Use Cover, Fire in Volleys and Use your SMG. Really simple. Don't really have much to say but I'd be interested to see what others have to say about their experience

So far ive ran a couple of fits and one i am particulary fond of are

3x Complex Extender
5x Complex Repper

This suit still sits at around 800 ehp total, but on medium to long range fights, if you duck & cover it is very hard for people to deplete 48 reps a second and if you do take armor damage, just ducking around a corner or below line of sight is enough to get you back up to those 391 armor in less then 8 seconds without any delay and even if you take armor damage the 48 reps feels like resistance to their damage, they miss for a second and boom it replenishes.

or

3x Complex Damage mod
5x Complex Reactive Plate

This suit dishes it out, keeps most of its speed intact, hits hard as hell and still has allot of armor
also sits at around 750-800 ehp and has a decent armor recovery rate, if we look back to having to recover with a single
reactive plater or repper module, 15 reps a second is a whole lot.

The rest you can fill in the blanks with whatever you like best

But I have tried out that reactive plate suit and I like it but not as much as the suit I listed, I'm not sure why. My good friend Neodarc has a gal assault that is set up the same way and he says its his favorite set up. Though I have to try that quintuple rep suit, nearly 50 reps a second on armor is crazy, its like e Cal Scout's shield regen on steroids.

But overall I'm enjoying my Amarr Assault again, it's been a long while since I've been able to run the suit as my generalist suit for every game from having to run scouts or heavies if I wanted to win the games.

There are so much more Amarr Assaults around now, much more than before, it was a pleasant surprise to see an ak.0 on the field back then, it always meant a good fight that lasted upwards of 3 minutes at least going against another player skilled enough to main the Amarr Assault, now everyone and their mother is in one spamming shots and making cardboard cutouts of their enemies. Whatever though, more target practice for me I guess

Also, I do have a PS4 and I think i've already preordered the game though i'm not reaaally pumped for the Halo shooter that is Destiny, PVE is amazingly fun but the PVP is too halo like. But I digress, I'll be on there most likely I've got some friends from Dust that I'll be playing with but I would love to join in some strikes and raids with you, so add me you bastard!

Though I've been having trouble with Brick-tanked heavies.

Yeah the 5x repper suit is a really fun suit, should give it a twirl, vs normal opponents, you take on an entire squad in cqc while yer getting repped to full meanwhile they pumping you full of lead.

I should call it the Immortal AK.0 :p

aaaand yeah back in the day when it had 3/3 slot layout, you barely saw one on the field while it really was a good suit

Ive seen footage from HALO fps and i am like wtf is this sh*t, people like that crap ? But ive also seen Destiny PVP and tried it at my buddies place (with a controller /facepalm and made allot of cardboard cutouts :p) but it plays really smooth and more like call of duty / blacklight then slowmo Halo.

One thing i am afraid of though is that with 6 vs 6, i am going to run out of opponents fast :p

But yeah the main Idea is to have good people around for the strikes & raids because they are going to be really though
