I used the CRW as well, as it is a good gun. The SCR is so good that a Prototype Version just takes up CPU/PG. The Standard version can do 1000 damage in one volley as it is. The CRW does a little more which helps chisel away Heavies faster. Its like the Forge Gun, the base model already does enough damage to kill anything in the game, why waste CPU/PG on something? You can't kill a clone past dead... That being said... I pay attention when I see a CRW in the killfeed, because it seems to be very rarely used in this game, because I'm usually the only using it, and games with you I don't see it... Not calling you a liar, okay maybe a little.
I am not a liar, but that particular statement has been untrue as of late.
My corp has been doing a bunch of PC lately, almost 5-9 a day, so a lot of pubs I do is PC warmups. As a result, I am obliged to run my best suits. For that I apologize for stating an untrue statement.
But my it still stands that my preferred pub suit is my CRW, it is my bread and butter.
Next time I see you i'll make sure to blap you with my CRW, you have my word :D |

Id put Xeroo up there before 8213 just cause we have had some mad ScR duels and GGs were exchanged instead of angry comments, not to mention last time i fought Xeroo im pretty sure we ended at 3 for 3 he would kill me after i was done killing him

@ Raid: Slap one on your suit and take on the people on this list bud! Sure its easy to kill shield tanksers, STD and MLT suits but If you go up against someone like lea, viktor, catdog, rei shepard or aisha you'll see just how important the person behind the controller or M/KB is in showing how devastating this weapon can be

Ive tried running in a squad, i ran in 13ears squad for 2 weeks or so to get ready for the squad cup and ive ran a few Rainbow Effect squads but theres too much skill present in a 6 man team that it gets boring really fast, theres just not enough people in the opposing 16 man squads, let alone the tactical advantage of having a scanner all match long. There has litterally not been a game when ive been grouped that i said of "well daym, this is a rush" except the Cup Match against Rainbow Effect", best game ever in Dust. Until they change something like 32 people battles per side or something, squading aint for me :/

I used to run with Madlax but he gave up on the game, the Tank spam finally broke him in 1.7, the 2 of us where ussually enough to stop most squads of stomping, solo sometimes theres nothing you can do about it once the ball gets rolling. ill let you know each time i get on.

I think Lea made this list to identify users who main as well as mastered the ScR, most also who run the assault ak.0 suit; think the exception there is Arkena who runs it on a Gal gk.0 and Heim who is beast with the Assault ScR variant on a logi Ck.0

In the end of the day we recognize the players who have mastered a particular weapon and just like Lea most of the very best of us have skilled into ScR + ak.0 Day 1 of Uprising, so no FOTM chasing there.
I challenge anyone to pick up a ScR and go against anyone on this list, see how far the "OP" rifle gets you, and no just because you decimate MLT suits in Pubs doesn't make you or the weapon "good"
But I encourage everyone to pick up your favorite weapon and attempt to master it; I have gone through 7 patches worth of changes with the ScR and I've loved it ever since it was the "less than spectacular TAC Rifle" until now, and I likely am going to use it for the indefinite future.
Recognition rewards greatness and practice it also encourages keeping a standard of performance, I recognize the people on this list being the best Dedicated ScR Marksmen in the game, just like Mr. Musturd is the best Knifer in the game. It's not the gun, its the player; perhaps you will rage less the sooner you realize this, because believe me I know; fighting Lea or Rei is an exercise in both Mind and Body.

Put Swenla (Vincen Minora) on the list Lea i played with minora yesterday (Swenla is minoras brother's char but he plays it) and it wasnt fair for the reds at all , nearly all were absolute redlines within minutes and both Swenla and I getting 20 to 25+ kills each.
although the lovely crazy cat lady helped to greatly augment our deadliness, both her and Swenla are an amazing weapons system so much so that Rei and I are replicating the strategy for PC

Imagine the Scrambler Pistol as the main weapons system of an Imperial Amarr Trooper, on his right hand wielding the Scrambler Pistol and on his left a 4 fanged arm extension for anyone that dares venture closer than pistol range from the Trooper. But, for more open battlegrounds the arm extension is removed to function as a a rifle barrel that drastically augments the power and heat of the Scrambler Lasers. inserting the Pistol into the extension would create the Scrambler Rifle

I've found that my fit has not changed much from 1.7 apart from dropping the Active Scanner and instead trying to make sure I have a Caldari Scout in my squad at all times :D

Spawning in and not having my Heat Sink bonus apply has been my number one cause of extreme rage. From the beginning uprising the Amarr Assault has been an amazing suit that excels when used by talented players but I feel that 1.8 is going to be our greatest challenge ever.
The PG/CPU reduction for assault suits is amazing though, with fitting op 5 I think my ScR costs something like 11 PG to fit. Allows me to run my Ishukone Assault SMG for those darn heavies.
I've had a few scouts shotgun clack me in the back but I've managed to actually survive and even kill them before they finish me off, but it is tough to run especially without a proper squad.
ScR still rules though

But I have been running Amarr scout lately with nova knives and been slaughtering my KDR but it is so fun killing with nova knives.
Oh my god Knives are so fun, I got ishukone Knives on my scout ck.0 that I've been running for the event and I'm loving being invisible as well as seeing everyone and everything.
Adjusting to Shield based suits is tough considering I've always ran armor suits, but I did this yesterday in a solo skirm game

No wonder I can usually fit everything I want and a Viziam. I skilled into MagSecs for my sidearm but they've proven to be underwhelming at best. Wish I had just gotten proto SMGs instead!
I tried the basic Magsec and I agree it is underwhelming, if anything the Bolt Pistol is more fun to use. I actually skilled into Proto SMGs because of Vin Vicious lol I remember epic fights against him in PCs of old... ahh how nostalgic
But yeah SMGs are still king of Sidearms IMO I also love the ROF nerf for pistols, it encourages me to take my time and line up head shots, but I use it as a primary because anything it doesn't kill I finish off with the SMG. I'm loving sidearms, I think thats why I could never be a Logi
I've nearly maxed everything I want to do in terms of infantry skills, maybe I should work on vehicles next.

Hey it all takes practice my friend, good on you for sticking with a gun. The ScR is not an easy weapon to use effectively either but we have hours upon hours of experience with it.
Stick with it, master it and be the best Magsec user out there. Maybe they'll add you to another registry ;)

DMG mdos are 9 PG to use and Extenders are 11, i'm telling you the extra 6 PG I save from running 3 Damage mods really helps with maximizing the rest of my build
I see no point running shield extenders to achieve a shield value that is less than what I had base pre 1.8 I'd rather augment my weapons even if its only 5% more

Jokes aside, yeah I've basically turned my Assault suit into, essentially, an Assault suit lol Before 1.8 the ak.0 was my generalist suit, I would use it for any and all situations but now the Scouts are better choices for responding to different situations.
I've gone from having 15 ak.0 fits to 5, 2 of them I use when I have Rei and the other 3 are variations on the same solo suit. It's now a straight up marksman suit, a weapons system to effectively carry the ScR and sadly; nothing more.
2 Proto Weapons (Shield and Armor Killers) + M1 Nades maximizes my killing potential.

Flux will be your best friend for CR now, problem is increased TTK and Proficiency changes have made it so that if you waste all your DPS on the enemies shields you will not be able to finish off their armor before reloading/they kill you. Start your engagements with the flux and you should do well, carry an SMG too if you haven't already
I still love the Amarr, although I run my scout suits a tad bit more I still think the ak.0 is the best assault suit in dust. And for a ScR specialist it is a no brainer to use

Exactly, I think the biggest thing about 1.8 that not a lot of people have figured out yet is the importance of proper squad compositions.
I only run my Amarr Assault with a proper squad, because when my squad needs killing to be done there is no better suit for me to wear than the Sinwarden.
Anything less than a proper squad, I run my scouts.
Basically; I am more dependent on teamwork when running the Amarr Assault now than I was before

Hmm dont you think its interesting that CCP decided to change the stats of the Amarr from dual tanker to armor tanker, in line with the symmetry in Heavies and Light frames yet kept the slot layout change.
I think I remember reading that they didn't have enough time to change slot layouts for Medium frames in 1.8 so I wonder what other changes we will see; I'm hoping for 2 highs and 4 lows personally

I thought Gallente Scouts had a 1H/4L layout at Proto... hmm.... But still. Other than the terribad completely awesome bonus, the Amarr needs a good slot layout. I don't quite understand my own logic, but I still want the Amarr Scout to be speshul. edit: Disregard everything I said. None of it even makes any sense. lol
The Amarr Scout is special; its a better assault suit than the amarr assault, too bad it can't effectively run the ScR. Cause if it had the heat sink, well, lets just say the Sinwarden would spontaneously and inexplicably slim down.

Ran a bunch of matches with the Sinwarden last night, did fairly alright though I had a great, proper squad to back me up.
I find it tough to solo with the Assault ak.0 now which has in turn made my Cal scout the Generalist pub suit, my Gal scout the Tryhard scout suit and my Amarr Assault the Dedicated Marksman to augment a squads killing power. On a side note the Templar ScR isn't as strong as it was before but Imperial (Viziam) is still king.
I also have a Black Ops variant of the Sinwarden suit I made last night which, surprisingly enough, works pretty well lol
Lea when you gonna come and update this list?? Because you need to take away some names and also add RA Drahcir, he's my new ak.0 ScR buddy :D

Thanks What problems do you face when running the ScR I am fairly in consistent in target acquisition and finishing kills. I am improving with my sidearm, but as find many guys getting away with a sliver of health.
Try waiting to engage, I know this sounds silly, but if you can force your opponent to commit into a 1v1 engagement you will melt them. If you fire at them when they are too close to cover more often than not they will get away.
Charge your first shot and wait for the enemy to put a few rounds down range to try and challenge you, the Viziam still has the ability to Alpha the **** out of anyone who's brave enough to try and fight by my terms.
My other piece of advice; Run the ak.0 Assault with a proper squad, with the abundance of heavies and scouts running around everywhere it is much harder to cover your flank consistently when running solo or in an improper squad. Even just having a cal scout around already helps a lot. I now always run the assault when I have a proper squad and as I said above my scouts are my generalist suits to run solo or in small squads.

I could never drop the Sinwarden, the ScR is my gun and there is no other suit to run it on other than the Assault ak.0 it is a no brainer for me.
And yeah I skilled into Gal Scout at the start of 1.7 and it is an amazzzzinnngg deployment suit for, and with 1.8 changes its even more amazing. I maxed my electronics skills and now run EWAR on all my scouts, wonderful, truly wonderful.
I did conform to the FOTM by skilling into Cal Scouts but I had to get at least 1 new suit lol Planned to go sentinel instead, well kind of still want to... relive my Chromosome days as a scrubby Heavy HMG

I've never really liked the aScR, I run the Combat Rifle on any other suit but the ScR is exclusive to my Amarr Assault, it is less of a suit more of a Weapons System if you know what I mean.
But yes, lag is the absolute worst enemy of everyone who plays this game. Good thing I have 'Fight with lag' Proficiency 5 lol But in all seriousness, the ScR is affected by lag the worst, theres nothing as frustrating missing all your shots because you simply cannot track a person while both you and that person are skipping around the map

How could I forget to mention this. Yes, in retrospect, this is the BIGGEST reason why I would rather pull out my scout than the Amarr Assault in heated combat situations; I am pretty much working in 50% efficiency and have to wait 30 seconds to 2 minutes to have my bonuses apply <-- In PC this is no bueno, there is absolutely no way I would confidently switch to the Amarr Assault mid game unless this bug is fixed, for all suits.
Spent 8 patches now perfecting my feel with the ScR, there is nothing more frustrating than having your gun pop on your when you know for a damn fact that it should never happen. Fucks with my muscle memory.

Hmm I've never had it THAT bad, it always means business when I pull out the ScR and lag is annoying but I can work with it. Are you on a wireless connection by chance?

Meh that map is Scout & Heavy central, I remember back in 1.7 when people would just stuff heavies into objective areas and it would take an OB to clear them, consider the fact that there is hardly any good place to drop OBs on that map.
At least now I get to have crazy cloaked duels with scouts! Had a real cool Shotgun cloak 1v1 with someone a couple days ago, amazingly fun. Haven't had a ScR duel in a while though, I sure miss it.

It's horrible Patrick, there had to have been 10 heavies rolling around with 30 armor each because before I realized my bonuses were not applied to switch to my SMG my ScR pops in my hand, I'm just standing there with my **** in the wind watching a dumb heavy spray his load in my general direction and gun me down.
Frustrating.
I haven't been running my scout because I don't rage at all with it, in fact I have a lot of fun in my scout. But I should have as much fun in my assault suit, it's wrong that I don't

I planned to use the MagSec but found that I didn't like it as much as the Minnie Submachine Gun, the Ishukone Assault SMG is IMO superior in every way so I decided to put my SP elsewhere and keep the same combo I've had for months now
ScR + SMG (Used to be ScP but the pistol was really unreliable in PC)
But I'm interested to hear your opinion as to why you like the MagSec

See I can understand how not having your entire clip load in or reloading a few milliseconds slower could be trifling, but imagine; after months and months of mastering a particular weapon, knowing exactly how much heat has built up without even glancing at the counter, spending millions of SP into a suit JUST for the bonus to my favorite weapon, then having that weapon seize up and render you ultimately vulnerable and useless as you watch your opponent jump around with a sliver of health end your clone's life without me being able to do anything about it.
There is no other skill in Dust that is so detrimentally affected by this stupid glitch than the Amarr Assault skill. And when you fire volleys like I do (and not just spam R1) having the gun overheat after 1 volley is absolute bullpoop

I'd also taken to using the Assault RR on my Gal logi fits since I figured the assault ScR wouldn't work so well with prof. changes in 1.8 so MagSec has kind of come naturally as it is pretty much just a chopped down ARR. Oh and I had to go Amarr assault because I needed a break from Min assault hard mode that I've run for months and with the equipment changes Amarr logi no longer fit what I used it for a hybrid assault/repping and reviving logi
Hmm the rail based weapons do not interest me very much, although I do pretty well it is a lot less satisfying to kill with IMO. But that recoil on the MagSec is really nasty, and with skills not applying would probably **** me off even more.
Care to share your ak.0 fit? I'm interested to see how you fit yours

Out of curiosity, how do you all fit the Assault Ak.0? Does anyone use complex extenders? I'm still hammering out my 1.8 fitting and I'd appreciate any comments you have.

I'm not sure but I want to say that you don't have to use the ScR (But you'd be silly not to on the ak.0 Assault) but all that matters is that you have level 5 Amarr Assault and use it regularly enough to qualify for this registry, I'd like to do my best to help anyone who wants to effectively run the Amarr Assault as I have run the suit ever since its introduction to the game.

I know right? It's cool tho, assaults are the new scouts :D and I enjoy the challenge.
I'm just pampered cause I have a couple of scout suits myself... so I cheat on The Sinwarden :/ It's just near impossible to play the Amarr Assault without a proper squad, when I have my comrades with me I can dominate with the Sinwarden and die a maximum of 5 times with over 20 or 30 kills but solo it's just near impossible. Heavies rule CQC and scouts control the rest of the battlefield.

Wonder if Cat Lady and Minora are still doing their Assault Repping combo. I still do but it becomes ever more rare, although I can get 745 armor on my Assault with 3 complex plates giving me a good amount of armor to get repped but it's just much much more effective for my and my logi to run around in scout suits then try to trudge along as a Logi Assault duo.

Been running the Sinwarden a bunch with an alternate fit, inspired by the idea from of a post of a Regenerative feature for Assault suits I switched from a more plated ak.0 fit to a more "rep tank" fit. And this suit has been doing well in Ambush, rivaling my performance pre-1.7
The biggest change apart from going from 2 plate 1 rep to 2 rep 1 plate is that the Injector has replaced the scanner in my equipment slot as pretty much a ghetto scanner (coined by my good friend Noobsniper the2nd) as it will give me an indication if a sneaky clacky scout is killing my blues in a 30m radius. It's also a nice way to get 60 free WPs.

I run it like a scout with no cloak, always sticking to cover and keeping mobile. Sadly enough it has approximately the same Shield and Armor values as my Gal Scout. Damage mods are still key, even more so now, to make sure the ScR can punch through as much armor as possible before switching out to the Sidearm to end all Sidearms, the Ishukone.
Try it out and tell me what you think. This furthers my support for a regenerative style feature for assault suits, allowing them to constantly keep up the front lines given they have enough down time to regenerate their stuff, this makes the high value targets to take out quickly because if left alone they will outlast and destroy all the other frames.

Never needed prof V, had some SP saved up to do that but after the proficiency changes I put them in Fitting op instead, now on the ak.0 my Viziam cost 9 PG to fit :D

Damn thats one interesting fit! I've literally spent millions of SP on optimizations to be able to create perfect PC fits for the Amarr Assault, I never make it a point to mess around and try to have fun with it lol
This is similar to the double rep assault fit I listed a few pages back that has the injector work as a ghetto scanner :D But I for one am going to try fitting double reps and double plates for when bravo hits, I think it would be awesome for PC ^-^

In the end though the ak.0 is all about the ScR, It's silly when people fit other weapons that are as good on any other suit on the amarr assault and not a weapon that becomes truly becomes augmented when paired together.
The Amarr Assault is less of a suit and more 50% of a weapons system; where the other 50% is the Scrambler Rifle.
Hand's down the best designed suit in the game.

Played a PC against Gods Among Men a few hours ago on Spine Crescent (The 5 point bridge map with original hangar installations) and made it a point to use the Amarr Assault throughout the game. It was a bloody battle as we got pushed out of the city and had to fight it out on the outside objectives; Echo, Alpha and Delta. We won the game and my final score was 15/4 with 1135WP.

I spent the entirety of my time on the outside objectives. In the beginning I was overwatch on Alpha bridge objective able to strip the shields of people running in from enemy HP, they were damaged and easily finished off by my fireteam. Eventually I had to push up to enemy HP as we got pushed out of the city; CQC combat against muliple combatants in a hotzone objective area is an extremely dangerous place for this suit, I had to make it a point to remind myself NOT to charge shot since I won't have the longevity required to engage multiple contacts at a moments notice.
This suit is still an amazing uplink killer, I can snipe uplinks with a few shots from hundreds of meters away, it truly is the king of open ground but you have to be very perceptive. I spent the good half of the game on a hill overlooking our homepoint and basically playing king of the hill against scouts, I managed to use my uphill advantage and general paranoia to successfully fend off waves of scout attacks as well as watch the point and make sure it doesn't get hacked. It was absolutely awesome, it was like playing a king of the hill minigame in dust focusing on 1v1 or at one point 1v3 scouts with an amarr assault and a ScR.
I can't wait to test it out on the other maps ^-^

That's my PC fit also expect i have a stable uplink because my scram rifle fit op is only lvl 4 and my smg fit op is like 2 need to get it up a little to match your fit. I've been pulling it out more and more often the past week in PC, but generally only do it for outside maps. Been working out surprisingly well...
Fitting optimizations for the win \o/
I have to be more conservative about using the charge shots, more so than Pubs and I'm just not used to that lol it seems like my accuracy goes down when I'm tapping the trigger rather than letting go of the trigger after a charge shot LOL
But I'm working on it, im sad it only really works on particular maps though, I'm glad I have scouts for my generalist suit and a heavy for the slaughterhouse map

Logged in to all my fits that had 454/459 CPU and 92/92 PG all of a sudden had one more available slot to fill, had to make some sacrifices but I think I've found my main fits to use for this patch:

Amazing regeneration ability I can actually assault points now with my Amarr Assault (though only in pubs), the low slot added a slight oomph that was much needed for this suit, had to downgrade the extender I had on the high to an enhanced on all the fights to accomodate for the extra low but I haven't decided if 50 more shields is better than having 4% extra damage on my ScR or Sidearm, more testing to be done.
Heavies still mow down medium frames like nothing though, and although operating solely on the ground is possible, I found that my best PC games with the suits are ones where I am able to have tactical overwatch or the ability to use my environment to dictate my rules of engagement. The assault suit still doesn't "assault" well enough IMO
The added low slot is a step in the right direction, at least for ak.0 users, but assaults still need a defined role I feel.

Been seeing waaaayyy more assaults on the field (way too much) but still haven't seen anything spectacular from any new names, been seeing very little of the old names too sadly.

You still haven't added me on PSN you bastard.
But I have tried out that reactive plate suit and I like it but not as much as the suit I listed, I'm not sure why. My good friend Neodarc has a gal assault that is set up the same way and he says its his favorite set up. Though I have to try that quintuple rep suit, nearly 50 reps a second on armor is crazy, its like e Cal Scout's shield regen on steroids.
But overall I'm enjoying my Amarr Assault again, it's been a long while since I've been able to run the suit as my generalist suit for every game from having to run scouts or heavies if I wanted to win the games.
There are so much more Amarr Assaults around now, much more than before, it was a pleasant surprise to see an ak.0 on the field back then, it always meant a good fight that lasted upwards of 3 minutes at least going against another player skilled enough to main the Amarr Assault, now everyone and their mother is in one spamming shots and making cardboard cutouts of their enemies. Whatever though, more target practice for me I guess
Also, I do have a PS4 and I think i've already preordered the game though i'm not reaaally pumped for the Halo shooter that is Destiny, PVE is amazingly fun but the PVP is too halo like. But I digress, I'll be on there most likely I've got some friends from Dust that I'll be playing with but I would love to join in some strikes and raids with you, so add me you bastard!

And you make a very good point man, I go an average of 20 kills every pub game but thats because I am shooting at, like you said, Militia, STD and dumb shield tankers. When I do kill an armor based suit, let alone a proto variant, it is always with high degrees of heat management and dictating the rules of engagement through superior positioning and often times; violent strafing lol
Pubs are a horrible, horrible way to analyze any type of suit/weapon and people should be very careful to judge performance based on how well it does in Pubs (looking at you too, CCP). I have been an ak.0 user ever since it got introduced and I still run it in PCs; the only true environment where you get to see if a weapon, suit or combination of both is truly OP, and what happens when you put multiples of a particular powerful combo at play. And I can tell you that the Amarr Assault is not as OP in comparison to things like the Burst HMG for example, it is only when put in an environment where 300EHP and under suits are running about that it seems to be punching way above their weight class.
I still think my CR is way more powerful and reliable than my ScR is, it is comparatively far easier to fit, requires no sorts of "management' in the weapon's mechanics side, did I mention it doesn't take 20 PG to fit? why do you think I have Optimization 5 for the ScR. Consider the fact that I have the Amarr Assault, Amarr Sentinel and Min/Gal/Cal Scout, all set up as slayer suits so I attempt to make my opinion as objective as I can.
I fear that the emergent popularity of the suit and CCP's "ingenious" PUB-based data mining will cause them to make sweeping changes like they always do and just restart the vicious cycle of nerf-induced FOTM
