With mass driver take a shot aimed to hit 50m or so away, it has to be long enough to give you time to watch
Basically as it travels the lighting effect casts a light on the floor that doesn't change size, this light conveniently is the same area as the blast radius!!
No the ar isnt the most powerful but all HROF weapons need their damage reduced, its because its most common its effectively the one called for tweaking is the ar, but really we mean all HROF weapons!! |

Agreed, I noticed that in the stats menu yesterday the accuracy was up a bit in the assault rifles. In any case, I get killed faster by laser rifles and scrambler rifles then I do AR's. Soooo.... AR's are not the best weapons out there... just the most common.
Respectfully disagree - GEK's and Duvolles clean up much faster than lasers and scr's - not sure about ascr
I also loathe the "skill" argument when talking about AR (not the tac or burst just auto). Its beyond silly because you use the iron sights and open up the hose. Even a scrub like me can work it.
I just feel cheated because I chose to not skill into the most obvious choice because of the hook of this game (many ways to play) but I just look at my "wasted" SP.
Hoping they drop their range or increase dispersion or something to give them a drawback. |

With all these aiming tweaks and hit detection fixes, 90% of your shots hit now compared to like 50% before. The result is weapons like the AR are able to drop people like in twitch shooters. You see someone boom they're dead. The AR definitely needs a bit more dispersion or some kick or something because it is already very accurate without any skills put in. I rarely see weapons other than ARs now. Even Mass Drivers are going down in use. The thing is now you can put a militia assault rifle on a suit stack some damage mods and go wreck face against anyone and everything, which completely out of whack. |

Yes, this is why people have moved back to the ar, the main reason people flocked to the md was hit detection, shots actually hit and 2 stepping didnt work!, |

Some Food for thought the AR's RoF is 12.5 Rounds per second, and basic AR's (no skill) do around 30 Dam an Duv with Prof 5 and 2 complex damage mods is around 51 dam per bullet
Duv base damage 37.5 * 1.15(Prof 5) * 1.17 (complex dam mods) = 50.456 dam
So it's pretty powerful even at base 31 * 12 bullets in 1 second thats 372 Hit points, more than a Breach MD direct hit, more than a light blaster turret in the same period of time, more than plenty of other things in one SECOND! |

SMGs may have been broken, but ARs are now more effective at CC then they are. Im one of those far and few between people that uses the SMG as my primary weapon and its getting a lot harder for me to do ANYTHING.
Not to mention I'm also a speed tanker, making my Life expectancy exactly 1.5 seconds :P haha.
Anyway I'm not calling for aim assist to be taken away, IMHO CCP should stick to the mechanic they have now, and balance around that. |

On 1.3 I believe it was.. They did bumbp up the kick and dispersion on Duvoles.
I Have ALL Assault rifle skills maxed, The kick and dispersion were the first 2 I slapped to lvl 5.
Skills play into this by a lot. Of course the guys with max skills are going to destroy you on the battlfield this isnt COD.
I made an alt with no skills into an assault rifle, there is a HUGE difference between max skills and no skills.
QQ all you like they wont nerf AR's just because people dont like aim assist. PERIOD. |

The person using it probably knows the weapon well enough that he's good at killing with it. Give the laser rifle the old sight? that is by no means a nerf , imo it was actually better than the blue dot sight back in chromosome. I think the 1.3 laser rifle sight is actually better than the current ar sight. As for MD , I always charge the MD. This not only scares the user(sometimes) but it also screws up his aim and he'll probably kill himself from the splash. Once everyone gets used to the new hit detection, things will calm down. |

Have you played in 1.4? the AR user will QQ about their weapon being the only one getting a nerf The old LR sight is better but you had to say something. Still the AR does more damage than a light blaster turret does. |

Scrambler rifles (of any kind) are perfectly fine. The Gallente AR has superior DPS and CQC efficiency to the Scrambler AR. |

Anyone familiar with the history of Dust 514 knows it caters to the Assault Riffle. By reason or whim they'll nerf other weapons but not the sacred cow. I just don't see this assisted aim hoopla modifying CCPs behavior. They'll modify or remove the AA first. |

What weapon do you run!! Dont foeget the ar is a grunt gun, the only kne in a squad who uses the ar is the point man, the guy who goes through the door first!! |

Hit detection was fixed on direct damage like the AR or AScR
Dont complain about aim assist, it not as bad as people think, everyone is quick to forget the hd is fixed, AND that HROF weapons were given a sharpshooter compensation!! |
