Just can't get over how a small anti vehicle grenade does more damage than four big anti vehicle missiles, and I'm sure I missed a reason. CCP balance AV grenades so they do there appropriate job on the battlefield. |

Why Grenadiers hate Tanks:
because RUNNING towards a 6000+ EHP behemoth that can kill you with 1-2 shots of his blaster is always a bad idea.
Unless of course. The tanker was in a place he wasnt supposed to be, like, i dont know, camping a CRU?

AV nades hit between 750 and 1700. Not even 3 would kill you? You talk like if they are 1 HKO weapons. Again if a SCOUT (LOL) runs BEHIND you then you were in a place you shouldnt be. Believe it or not Tankers have limitations to areas where they can and shouldt be. PLUS, there is something if im not mistaken, you know SCANNERS for tanks? .... |

I can tell if someone has them, they run toward my tank. They are fine, if you let them get close enough to toss em at you that's your problem. |

1. I drive tanks, on this char and my alt. 2. I'll use them if I am on foot but I'd prefer to take out a tank with my tank. 3. Used the Flaylock once the day they came out. I am a true logi first and foremost, I don't have a sidearm. 4. Have MD at V and 2 prof and rarely use it, seems kind of cheap. 5. My only foot solder AV is proto AV nades and basic prox mines. No swarms no forges just nades and cheap mines. 6. I prefer logic and reason but who doesn't enjoy a good argument from time to time.

Yes AV are strong. Yes swarms are strong. One thing you don't understand. You cant just run up on people with a tank. Going against the hole team what do you think will happen? 1-10% chance you live.
Another thing that might help is squad with more tankers. Just like when your using a dropsuit and fighting you dont go it alone. 3-5 Tanks on the field might help you out.
I would like to point out that when you were smashing players before the first 3x exp about 2 months ago and you were killing players. YOU MADE them spec into AV. They got sick of you in your tank. You didnt see them QQ'ing on forums saying "tanks are to strong" They did something about it to stop your tank pub stomp.
I have a tank friend and he can make a 1 armor tank last 13+ ambush games. Its all about how you play. No disrespect to any tanker out there. I still love you guys in your evil tank! I hope you know they are going to be "buffing" tanks. I hope you like having ammo now!

Lai Dai can kill ANY tank with only 3. you can be in a shield buff tank with skill fully up with the highest resist going full speed past a person with this and die nearly instantly. |

As a logi have no reason to use locus or flux grenades, so I've skilled into AV nades so my squad mates don't have to. It helps to have someone in squad who can deal with the LAV spam. And if a tank is where it shouldn't, like on our redline or sitting in the same place for any reasonable amount of time then I put a hive down and spam. Most of the time the tank rolls away and it's only the REALLY stupid and slow ones that sit there and in turn are kill. Keep your tank moving away from me and your fine. Camp anywhere and you deserve what comes to you.
1. I have played as a tank and do so regularly....not well but I do. 2. I don't "lean" on AV nades to solely kill tanks. It's a deterrent, and works perfectly. 3. Flaylock nerf was a VERY happy day. 4. No, MD don't need any skill and am shocked they were buffed in the first place. 5. I did spec out of my role to get the AV nades in the first place. I ran militia locus BPO until getting into grenades for the AV. 6. I love to WIN arguments, but avoid them whenever possible. 7. No, if you skilled into MD you should stick with it despite the nerf.
I think that AV nades might be OP, but they don't need a nerf. Tanks need a buff. When it takes 3 ADV AV nades to take out a low-end LAV any nerf will make LAV's OP. That excludes LLAV's which have better tank than the tanks and need massive nerfs.
Don't hate the nade! Ask for some Tank love. |

This leaves the tank no choice, but to hide in the redline and snipe, but then I guess that would be acceptable to the infantry who shun it for acting like a TANK. Milita tanks maybe, there is a reason I always lay a nano or two before I start chucking AV nades.

The math is simple. 1700 base damage times the 30% weak spot on the tank which is all over the tank for some programming reason, plus 30% broken explosive damage (programming error, why many of us say they are broken, and finally all multiplied by a 135% efficiency vs armor. This equates to over 3600 DMG per nade. OP? Crutch? Working as intended? unfortunately it is all of the above |

I've destroyed A LOT of tanks with nades, they are my primary target even before winning. Unless its a crap fit tank they always take at least 4 and if it is a crap fit well it deserves to die. |

I agree 100% that the rendering with projectiles is game breaking for tankers
but av nades dont come into this........... and like pointed out, its takes way more than 3 nades to fu.ck you up, so the question arrises, why are you sitting there to get smacked by +3 nades..... scrub tanker maybe

Yaknow, if a Scout can get behind you, then get close enough that your third person camera can see him, and then can throw three autotargeting grenades in such a manner as that they hit your foot-wide weakpoint, he kinda deserves the kill. |

The biggest issue is that a good deal of tankers are used to the old Marauders. Think LLAV in Tank form. Not to say they are bad players, but they had a taste of power and they want it back... |

Just can't get over how a small anti vehicle grenade does more damage than four big anti vehicle missiles, and I'm sure I missed a reason. CCP balance AV grenades so they do there appropriate job on the battlefield.

Every VEHICLE is the same, is that a friendly one I hear rolling around or flying? 3. It may do similiar damage to a swarm, but the swarm has the range 4. Yes, it can HONE-in within 30 meters, but it is still able to miss if the vehicle is going fast enough; the second grenade needs to be cooked or it bounces off the vehicle to explode harmlessly above or behind the vehicle (aka close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades or in this case AV grenades) 5. Can act as a mine, if the vehicle hits it within 10 seconds (and besides CCP already reduced the length of time it remains on the ground active, and also that it no longer works on infantry without an enemy vehicle) ** At the same time I can't really control the point an AV grenade hits on the vehicle as the weak spot is only hittable by a weapon like the forge gun - I have watched countless grenades bounce off the weak spot in the back and blow up above the vehicle. -Since LONG BEFORE the open beta, swarm launchers tend to hit every ledge a drospship or tank on a building sits upon and not the vehicle and can't even hit a dropship that just goes up high enough. I wonder why so many people jumped into vehicles (aka the long game) and completely ignored the Infantry aspect (short game) of the game first, well the vehicles ruled the game until enough of us capturing objectives and fighting the other AV users got up enough skills in various things in order to be a more complete soldier and deal with vehicles. It only took us 6 months to be able to not get stomped on by the tanks in every match. Why not wait to see what actually happens after this BIG UPDATE to vehicles that is upcoming?
As was said to me when I made inquiries about why my suits CPU was nerfed, EVERYONE KNEW VEHICLES were going to be nerfed, so why did you skill into them, your decisions have consequences; even when ccp is in complete control of your choices and will completely change whatever they want.
Ask your fellow tankers to regale you with tales of the time 3 tanks didn't let CCP get out of their SPAWN in a match between (censored as not to rile up the trolls, as they have their 20-30 threads claiming exactly what you are, they have just been slightly more effective with their constant consistent whine and outrageous claims) and the DEVS. |

yeah caldari tank here, although im always happy to have gunners in my turrets, especially as i run missiles which are better suited for range, when the small turrets are being used tho its a awesome help

1: Nope. I have a tank alt. I've not died to AV nades even a tenth of my deaths to swarms. I abuse this thing called a turret, which shoots much further than the mechanical assistance an arm can give to a grenade by a wide margin. Your grenade can hit out to what, 30 meters? I'll be a hundred out drilling you AND your chunky monkey, lazyass friends.
2: No, I find carrying AV nades helps discourage retards in LAVs from trying to bumperhump me. It's a tool. If the tool does the job I want to do, I will use the tool.

He has more than 5k if he activates his hardeners. Plus, assuming he's armor, that's upwards to 2160 damage per nade, plus, by the time you can throw three out, if you sit on a nanohive or near a Supply Depot, you can restock another and throw it. I haven't found nobody who can outtank 3 AV nades and 2 swarm shots, even if they have all their stuff on. It's simply impossible. And with the upcoming changes to swarms, it'll be even more ridiculous. Just be quiet, because you don't know what you're talking about. |

Wrong.... I toss my Hacked Exos @ the ground in front of me to kill LAVs. Inactive AV Nades activate Homing within a couple of seconds after hitting the ground. Test it yourself...... Fun Fact: Floor an AV Nade & have a low-flying Derpship hover over. Mexican Jumping Beans, hilarity ensues |

Lai Dai's do at least 2600 damage, I was driving through the city shooting anything that moved and on my 2nd or 3rd lap 3-4 people spammed grenades and I didn't have a chance. |

I agree 100% that the rendering with projectiles is game breaking for tankers but av nades dont come into this........... and like pointed out, its takes way more than 3 nades to fu.ck you up, so the question arrises, why are you sitting there to get smacked by +3 nades..... scrub tanker maybe Way more than 3 if you have the time to activate your modules and if there are 2 people your screwed.

There are big downsides to using AV grenades:
1. Fitting costs are higher than other grenades. 2. If you carry them you can't bring locus or flux grenades, which leaves you vulnerable against infantry. 3. To actually make use of them you have to get very close to the massive metal death machine. 4. Even if you manage that without dying you can't carry enough to take out a well fitted tank.
I wish AV grenades were as OP as tankers say, as I have a stockpile of proto AV grenades that would save me ISK on each suit. But the downsides are so high I very rarely use them. |

-1st ITs a PROTO grenade. -2nd, AV grenades are NOT always useful. So you are sacrificing the Chance of using FLux Grenades or Powerful Core Locus Grenades For Lai Dai. -3rd, You must locate the tank -4th, You must RUN TOWARDS the tank, while dodging enemy infantry fire. -5th, IF the tankers is a scub like many here, then you MIGHT get the chance to land ALL 3 of them.... (But probably , its going to be a good tanker since hes practicing instead of whining in the forums,and hes gonna blow your face up)

I did it one time about a week ago. Left for a full 10 minutes, then suddenly got a +40 and some 50's as well, was all like "wtf? Oh yea AV nades" |

I have proto nanohives and I could literally lick his tank when I started my barrage of Lai Dai's. Hence why I was able to land 6 Lai Dai's. I run Lai Dai's all the time so I know that 6 of them is enough to kill the best tankers out there. 3 to kill a normal rail tanker, yet his took 6 to get half of his shield gone. Yet everyone on these forums are complaining about how OP Lai Dai's are.
Yet here I was in the best scenario for myself. Lai Dai's work best in close quarters while rail tanks work best in long range. Any person could see this was the perfect storm for a rail tank to go down yet it didn't....It was far from dying.
