Just can't get over how a small anti vehicle grenade does more damage than four big anti vehicle missiles, and I'm sure I missed a reason. CCP balance AV grenades so they do there appropriate job on the battlefield.
I can tell if someone has them, they run toward my tank. They are fine, if you let them get close enough to toss em at you that's your problem. |

1. I drive tanks, on this char and my alt. 2. I'll use them if I am on foot but I'd prefer to take out a tank with my tank. 3. Used the Flaylock once the day they came out. I am a true logi first and foremost, I don't have a sidearm. 4. Have MD at V and 2 prof and rarely use it, seems kind of cheap. 5. My only foot solder AV is proto AV nades and basic prox mines. No swarms no forges just nades and cheap mines. 6. I prefer logic and reason but who doesn't enjoy a good argument from time to time.
AV nades are fine. |

In reality Tanks have the hp of scouts. Proto AV grenades have been witnessed to do upto 3500 damage per nade and swarms can deal close to 3800 when fully maxed out. Even with reps, resistance, and logi support a tank can only survive upto 4 proto AV hits. This leaves the tank no choice, but to hide in the redline and snipe, but then I guess that would be acceptable to the infantry who shun it for acting like a TANK. Check your facts and don't always believe what a weapon says it does on paper. The only scout here is the tank itself. Yes I think the stats on the market detail doesn't show skill dps values, so you can kill a tank in 3 nades
Milita tanks maybe, there is a reason I always lay a nano or two before I start chucking AV nades.

I have seen it happen multiple times. The math is simple. 1700 base damage times the 30% weak spot on the tank which is all over the tank for some programming reason, plus 30% broken explosive damage (programming error, why many of us say they are broken, and finally all multiplied by a 135% efficiency vs armor. This equates to over 3600 DMG per nade.OP? Crutch? Working as intended? unfortunately it is all of the above
I've destroyed A LOT of tanks with nades, they are my primary target even before winning. Unless its a crap fit tank they always take at least 4 and if it is a crap fit well it deserves to die. |

Thats why I threw 6 Lai Dai's at ExmapleCore's rail gun and took it down to half shields. yeah you read that correctly...6 AV's are less affective against shield and I'm pretty sure he had some insane resist, you might have had a slow regenerating hive too,but still did you have reverse damage mods or something. I run Lai Dai's all the time so I know that 6 of them is enough to kill the best tankers out there. 3 to kill a normal rail tanker, yet his took 6 to get half of his shield gone. Yet everyone on these forums are complaining about how OP Lai Dai's are. Yet here I was in the best scenario for myself. Lai Dai's work best in close quarters while rail tanks work best in long range. Any person could see this was the perfect storm for a rail tank to go down yet it didn't....It was far from dying. You say did I have reverse damage mods on. See that is the exact point that people don't understand. They don't do THAT much damage to solo good tankers. I have gone against many of them and they are VERY hard to take out by myself.
Lai Dai's also work best against armor tanks.
