I was just in another game where the enemy MCC had 1 bar of life left. We had over 75%, but we lost because of clone count. My team was playing good, we people fulfilling their roles, and everything was going according to plan and how the game was meant to be played. We were dominating the objective, and keeping it safe.
So, when we actually play the objective in an objective based game mode, we get punished for it? When we sacrifice ourselves to gain and protect the objective at all costs, we lose? If I want to play a game where its about killing off the other team's clone reserves I'll select Ambush. You already punish our dying by making us lose ISK/AURUM, so why make us lose the game too?
I don't care how long the game lasts, its an objective based game mode, not a killing based game mode. If you want a game with both, then I suggest making a new game mode, since we've gone from 4 down to 3, we could really use one.
Seriously CCP, who are you trying to appease? Yourselves, or your some microscopic niche in a market that's the one of the most competitive on the planet?
I've noticed in Domination games (especially Nyain San Corporation) teams don't even try for the objective, they just camp above it spamming Mass Drivers the whole game, because they know by doing that they'll win the game eventually via Clone Count. So why even place a NULL Cannon in the game if you don't need to it win?
So, can CCP or someone on this board explain to me why Domination or Skirmish has Clone Count? |

One of the objectives is completing the mission within your limited clone supply. Your team obviously wasn't playing that objective very well. |

So why is there a NULL Cannon placed in the game? Is it basically an Ambush game with a secondary/optional objective put into it? |

We are being contracted to protect/attack those objectives. The contractors pay for a certain amount of clones and once those have been extinguished we can't return to the battle. If you consider FW, it makes a bit more since. |

So WHY is there a NULL Cannon in the game? You don't need to touch it to win the match. So we basically have 1 game mode in DUST 514 |

So why is there a NULL Cannon placed in the game? Is it basically an Ambush game with a secondary/optional objective put into it? Maybe you didn't noticed, but the New Eden universe has a big focus on resources. Just like we don't have a magical infinite supply of our guns and weapons, the clones are not infinite. It may be hard to see the bigger picture when all we have now is match making (aside from the small group of corps in PC) but outside of matchmaking in the real world of New Eden these clones have to be manufactured and transported to each district. The instant battles are getting you used to that fact.
Also I'd hardly call the null cannons a secondary/optional objective since that is how the battle is won the vast majority of the time. It is more like the clone reserves is the secondary objective, and as long as you aren't playing foolishly or using bad battle tactics you will almost never have to worry about the clone reserves. |

without a clone count teams could simply use zerg tactics and win everytime. This game is based around isk and going into battle and losing a 180 clones isn't what most people would call cost effective |

Skirmish wins by Objective most of the time.
But Domination comes down to Clone Count more than Objective 99% of the time. So what's the point of having Ambush and Domination game modes, when they are both won the same way? |

I'm thinking whoever you are playing with in Domination keeps spamming units into the choke points in hopes that you will eventually overpower them and take the objective, but that is a terrible tactic and I'm glad it's discouraged.

That's if you take an average and not factor in new players coming into the game when old players leave. So dying while trying to get a hack, or keeping the hack means you're sh*t? Funny, I thought it was an objective based game mode, apparently, I was wrong.
Adding Clone count to an Objective game actually does the opposite of what I think CCP was trying to achieve, instead of adding more depth to the game, it actually took depth away.
From now on, my team will just sit somewhere and spam Forge Guns and Mass Drivers until we kill 150 clones... which should take only about 5 minutes(faster than the NULL Cannon can destroy our MCC) |

Are you seriously joking? Or have you only played one game of Domination?
MOST games (by most I mean 9/10) cmoe down to clone count because eventually the other gives up trying to take the objective and they just sit back go for kills. 150 kills takes about 5 minutes for a good team (even if the other team whips out the Nanite Injectors in full force).

And I would love to see you camp 150 clones in 5 minutes when the other team has all the null cannons. Pardon me if I appear skeptic, but I have never seen a team getting redlined win via clone count. |

Wait right here... don't go anywhere, you sit right in front of that computer monitor and I'll come back with my buddies, just to appease you. Because Its not like I've been playing this game for a long time, and did for my YouTube channel for a while that I was able to network into the semi-decent players in this game when the player count was less than 2,000.

It gives the guys who are good shots a chance to beat the guys who are really good at throwing their lifeless corpses at objectives. |
