I play lots of domination and I only ever see clone victory when the other team is unwisely spamming the objective. Also you can stop hacks without dying. Nobodies trolling you. |

Yup, those stupid teams that try to play the objective in an objective game mode. Why don't they just stay off the objective and just go for kills? Ambush players should just play Domination, since its like a double version of OMS |

Like getting to a high point that over looks the objective and just spam it with Forges, MDs, and Snipers? Good idea. |

So why is there a NULL Cannon placed in the game? Is it basically an Ambush game with a secondary/optional objective put into it? Basically, yes. I've heard this is what it's like in planetary conquest- the main goal is to get the enemy clones off the planet, the secondary is to just blow up the other MCC to speed things up, or delay your loss. |

My team was playing good, we people fulfilling their roles, and everything was going according to plan and how the game was meant to be played. We were dominating the objective, and keeping it safe.
So, when we actually play the objective in an objective based game mode, we get punished for it? When we sacrifice ourselves to gain and protect the objective at all costs, we lose? If I want to play a game where its about killing off the other team's clone reserves I'll select Ambush. You already punish our dying by making us lose ISK/AURUM, so why make us lose the game too?
I don't care how long the game lasts, its an objective based game mode, not a killing based game mode. If you want a game with both, then I suggest making a new game mode, since we've gone from 4 down to 3, we could really use one.
Seriously CCP, who are you trying to appease? Yourselves, or your some microscopic niche in a market that's the one of the most competitive on the planet?
I've noticed in Domination games (especially Nyain San Corporation) teams don't even try for the objective, they just camp above it spamming Mass Drivers the whole game, because they know by doing that they'll win the game eventually via Clone Count. So why even place a NULL Cannon in the game if you don't need to it win?
So, can CCP or someone on this board explain to me why Domination or Skirmish has Clone Count? When I've squaded with others in NF or O.H we can nearly clone every game so if you get rid of clones why would we bother in capping the objective when we could just farm kills till the mcc kills eachother? |

Ya same thing happened to my team we lost due to clone count. What was weird was I watched the other teams bar not move for over 2 minutes and then it regenerated a few bars before the game was over. It was like it refused to let us win, it was counting on our clones to be diminished first. On Skirmish and Domination I believe the clone count should be set at minimum to 300 for each side. |

did you forget to read, I just said I rarely see clone victories in domination, because we usually win/lose by mcc. That would mean people are playing the objective just at a higher level than you are. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L4Cn9ukjTms I over use this I know |

So why is there a NULL Cannon placed in the game? Is it basically an Ambush game with a secondary/optional objective put into it? Maybe you didn't noticed, but the New Eden universe has a big focus on resources. Just like we don't have a magical infinite supply of our guns and weapons, the clones are not infinite.
That is technically incorrect, there IS an infinite supply of guns and weapons, there's an infinite supply of anything you can buy, there's not a limited amount of anything, and there is only a limited amount of clones per battle, but there IS an infinite amount of clones.
Heck, even money is infinite given the time, almost nothing in this game has a limit, there's not a set amount of anything, resources cannot be depleted, and supply will always be available. That may change in the future, but for now, this game DOES have "magical infinite supply" of guns and weapons and pretty much anything else.
@TC: To answer your question, lore-wise, yeah lack resources, supply, blah blah yadda yadda. Gameplay-wise, is as simple as to stop players from lemming themselves to win, if it wasn't there, players would mindlessly keep rushing at the objective(s) with cheap/ militia fits to win, why play smart when it doesn't matter if you do?
With this, not only do you have to take the objective(s), but you have to make sure you do so without being a liability to your team. |
