Give it a overheat, about every 2 shots ,it overheats for 8 seconds.... Also remove the proficiency skill, it already does a crap ton of damage, it dont need no moe... Also reduce damage by a tad and increase assault forgegun charge to 3 seconds. pretty hard nerf.... But dis shizzz be OP as fkkkkkk

It's a forge gun, it's supposed to do high damage, the issue comes with it's rate of fire where it's putting out a ridiculous amount of shots in a short time, the current charge up time on it is somewhere between 2-2.5 seconds if I remember right, it used to be with maxed skills 1.8 seconds charge up time, they were ridiculously OP back then, they are far far better than they used to be. If people are still finding issue with them (I haven't lately tbh, haven't seen a lot of them) fiddling with the charge up time preserves the damage which a forge gun should have and doesn't make the forge gunners feel persecuted. |

Well why does the 50k isk 10kg forgegun do more damage than a 5 ton railgun thats worth a million isk, it just doesnt make sense, and yes ur saying, but wait the ishykone dose 1600 not 1750 like the rail gun, but then you get complex damage mods and 25% damage form PRO level while the Rail only get 15% dmg increase from hybrid turrets and turret operation skills put together, Now your saying, but wait tanks can do dmg mods too, actually no cuz if we did, we could get soloed by AR's, n u know this sht is true. |

What you suggested would nerf it to oblivion, and CCP does that enough on their own. I have the ability to use an officer forge gun and I have trouble taking out a good tanker who actually knows what he's doing. The only people who complain about forge guns are people that have low level vehicles and don't use them properly or infantry that stand still for too long. Go use a forge gun and try to snipewith it, its a hard skill to master. All these Damn people who complain all the time just need to shut up and spend more time playing and maybe their skills will improve. You don't see the best players in the game complaining because they have the skills to adapt to the changing weapons and situations on the battlefield. |

I doubt it... Also its easy to spam AFG shots because the radius is huge, the projectile is fast, and the splash damage is huge, and the charge time is small...
I never heard of the officer forgegun.. |

The range of the Railgun is quite big i agree, in fact that much range isn't even needed unless your readline sniping which is bad, the range on the forgegun is quite big as well because in most cases the FGunner can cover 3/4th the match, id rather take a AFG as my turret on a tank rather than a huge railgun because in the end their are more benefits to FG than their is to railgun. I.E. your hunting a Redline tank, if you call in your tank you are a big target but if your a FGunner, you are a very small target and in most cases invincible to the eye of the tanker.... |

All valid complaints from a tanker that doesn't use cover for his MLT tank... and fails to exploit the invincible armour reppers that tanks have at the moment - a proper tank fit can rep faster than an AFG with 2 comp damage mods can damage it (speaks from experience).
Forge sniping is not difficult, but ACCURATE forge gun sniping requires skill... much like effective sniping with any weapon for that matter. Nobody is crying for the plasma cannon to be nerfed but can be just as effective as a forge on a dropship-only accessible roof top. Hell, the HMG on the mushroom is pretty deadly too!
FG splash radius is not huge. Mass driver splash radius is huge. |

All valid complaints from a tanker that doesn't use cover for his MLT tank... and fails to exploit the invincible armour reppers that tanks have at the moment - a proper tank fit can rep faster than an AFG with 2 comp damage mods can damage it (speaks from experience). I had the opportunity to use the HMG (standard with 1 damage mod) on top of the mushroom last night and was surprisingly quite effective. Also, plasma cannons CAN be used effectively. Maybe most of this stuff doesn't suit your play style or maybe you just refuse to think creatively to find ways of making "****" weapons effective. I should note that I find the PLC to be rubbish, but that is because I have not spent the time and effort to develop the skills/tactics necessary to utilise it effectively. |

A heavy using an assault hmg can be pretty deadly at medium range. Any weapon can be deadly it all depends on who is using it. People complain about certain weapons being op but I've ran into skilled and unskilled users of every weapon. Back when the core flaylock was considered op people who had skills could take my heavy out and then there were the players who couldn't hit me even if I was a football field wide and standing 2 inches in front of them. Nothing in this game is seriously op its just the vets in the game that have mastered it and you cant give them **** for it. |

Really the FGs are fine. Last I checked even with PRO weapons a FG can't solo a surya or sgaris. I only managed to pull that bit of luck of once and it was with a gastun against the shield ver. So leave breach FGs alone they don't need to be touched at all. If you decrease the range and damage on the assault FG then in turn one would also need to increase the splash radius and splash dmg(this applies twice as much if the charge time is touched).
Another thing I tend to find funny is how people are complaining about the PRO level FGs ignoring the biggest thing about them. THEIR PRO LEVEL WEAPONS their suppose to be damn effective. If they aren't than no one would spec into them at all. Aside from that FGs only have 4 shots; It's important to note that since most tanks can live through those 4 shots and the breach won't get that many shots off to begin with. If anything armor tankers that get hit by FGs won't be killed by solo FGs since their reppers/resistance can help them tank all 4 shots.
Shield tankers are the only people at risk from getting killed by FG shots since their shields heal slowly and there isn't much of them. The reason for that being their not really those type of tanks to begin with though soooo.. Oh I almost forgot to mention the lmited ammo/reload is what prevents FGs from effectively self tanking tanks. If infantry starts attacking them the same precious ammo they could spend killing a tank is now being wasted to kill one person. If said person is on equal footing it becomes MUCH harder to actually hit them and costs even more shots. If the FGs are the breach type than... No one should be complaining their the epitome of AV.
So like I said FG are FINE! If anyone wants to bring up logibros DOING THEIR JOBS by dropping nanohives should hush and really consider what their about to say. Once upon a time tanks use to not have reppers and carry logibros on their backs repping them. |

Just curious... why would you use any other FG but the AFG? Seriously, the dps potential on the AFG overshadows any use for the other variants if you have an ounce of skill.
I seriously think the AFG should be reworked into an anti infantry weapon, leaving the basic FG and breach for AV.
Something like 450 direct and 300 splash damage, 2s base charge time, auto firing, 6 round clip, and 3-4m of splash radius. |

Why not nerf your AR and remove its proficiency skill. Thats a great idea. I agree with one thing. It does to much damage without prof. If the forge gun is nerfed to hell I want my SP back I put into it from about 3 months ago. I will go SW with lvl 5 prof |

The assault forgegun needs a direct and splash damage decrease. with such a low charge up time holding a charge doesn't become a burden but instead a benefit. The assault variant should match the other assault variants in the game and lose some damage for the increased rof. |

So, From my personal thoughts, I remember that an AsFG Deals 1500 Damage on hit (Don't quote me on it though....) So, 1500*2=3000
3000/8=375 DPS. And that's not taking into account charge time.
375 DPS on a 4K HP tank.
Heres the DPS of the Proto Swarms.
6*390= 2340.
So, assumeing the guy doesn't try to hit the Repper/booster, it would take 2 Swarm Volleys to kill a Tank.
Now, the refire rate On Swarm Launchers is tricky, but Assuming the time it takes to hit the target is 2.5 Seconds...
2340*2=4680 4680/2.5=1872.
So, this is basically a change to make a Heavy weapon UP. We already have one of those, we don't need another. |
