It will probably be the safest place for newbies to learn how to play the game and still make progress.
But even that probably won't be enough. |

The community. That's where it starts. They could give all the content you guys has been asking for since God knows when, and still wouldn't help if the community is bad mouthing every step of the way.
And you know what? I like that Dust is not appealing to the masses. It's a niche game and it requires people who understand that. To gain more players would more than likely pull in hardcore BF and COD fans who play this game like they do those two. Who would complain even more and make threads/threats about leaving.
Plus, the full scope is not even realized yet for this game. The forum needs a class in decorum and tact when dealing with the devs. The game as a whole needs work and implementations that will take time. It also needs a dedicated community who can judge it objectively and suggest ideas that would better it.
In other words, we got plenty of in house things to do before we worry about bringing in a influx of players.
I've met some cool folks on these boards but nothing compares to the players in game. It's like night and day. On the forums, the majority sounds like whining brats. In game, the majority are excited and dedicated to the game. Heck, I'm starting to see familiar faces in the Caldari chat that I know play the game at least every day if not every other, like me.
I've said this numerous times, but I'm betting on the fact on how they pulled off EVE is how they will pull off Dust. In other words, we gotta let this baby simmer and raise it right.

Mtacs are like still so far out that it's still on the level of "uuhh this would be niiice to have in" and when it comes to fighters the maps are not big enough to have someone fly around in a fighter yet.
I think that having all dropsuits and especially all the heavies in will grab some people back. Probably not 1000 of players but maybe some hundreds. After this aiming fixes and hit detection fixes would also bring some people back and have them stay.
As soon as CCP get dropships rebalanced and get all the dropsuits into the game i think we'll begin to see a big influx of new players. Though it's all about how fast they can do it before DUST hits rock bottom. |

Pretty sure PvE would bring more people in than anything else. I am actually playing like once a month now, to check on the new patches. PvE would certainly make me pplay more than that.
I see nothing serious right now. Everytime I play, I am laughing so hard at how the game became, it's actually not fun. I am not in for just core mechanics tweeking, since I was bored to play 1 game mode after the launch uprising, without any outcome to make me want to stick playing. Isk isn't a valuable outcome right now, since no one know what to do with it after they get even billions.
Give me some PvE, some new game modes, some stuff to waste my SP on, a real interaction with EVE.

I agree with others that PVE would help bring in (and keep) newer players.
To keep older players, I would say a real random map mechanic (or at least a lot more maps) should be top priority. |

On a serious note though: It's nothing less than reckless to say that any one piece of content would have the effect of grabbing thousands of players within a very short span of time.
Dust, like Eve, is a game whose player base will come in at the tortoise's pace. Guaranteed that, despite the classic parable, people will still be shocked when the tortoise wins the race and not the hare. |

Open up the MCC`s and allow us to get onto them / inside them so we can attack / defend he MCC. Just like Titan mode in Battlefield 2142. You guys are nearly there it wouldn't take much to make this happen and I honestly think people will love it! |

It doesn't matter what they add, it won't attract anyone if no one hears about it; if they add such a piece of content, then they would need to actually advertise it to get the word out. As for the actual content, it would have to be PVE. |

I Would say a ranking and matchmaking system, but seeing how CCP is running on fumes for customer base... its almost to little to late for that.
Would stop the K/D/R hero's from caring so much and give the noobs stable competition not uber gods they can only kill with gernades and forge guns
Edit* If you think PVE will make an online shooter better... you are the people who are responsible for so much wasted dev time. These nerf's where for you ;) |
