Lol you got beat by a blaster, were there more than one? It's skill based anyways in a straight fight blaster loses to rails, this mean the guy that got you out maneuvered you and is at least a decent tanker. Sry for the lol

Also it could be that your taking a lot of damage quickly without realizing it. 1 sec will take out 460 HP about so in about 2 sec your done now if its a combat rifle your dead even quicker

I've accepted the HMGs short range but I think it should have the damage to make it a short range weapon, account for dispersion when figuring stats, because all the damage in the world doesn't mean anything if you can't apply it consistently.
