Ladders reduce the reason for ads usage while allowing people to get higher without even needing to bother using dropships, reducing their usage. Ladders can also be camped easily, resulting in no change to the problem

Personally i wouldnt mind a scenario where swarms travel fast, accelerate fast and hit hard, however if a dropship out turns them they have to do a long arc to regain their initial top speed.
