IIRC this is by design because we were having a lot of trouble with disconnects and those fielding expensive equipment like good vehicles lost a lot of isk. If you quit you still lose what you lost.

The game doesn't have auto aim, it has auto track in which it only moves with an enemy when it gets within a certain distance and you still need to aim to hit them. In other games auto aim will aim for you, in this game it doesn't.
