Hint. It seems that the weapon you use has an effect on the rendering distance you can get. Snipers have a longer render distance when compared to assaults wielding an smg.

It's not a bug. It's intended design to improve rendering performance and at least help with dealing with the lag. This will be important once the matches grow to larger teams of say 24v24 or more.
