If you really wanted to rub it in, you could have melee-ed him. That's what I do to someone (like snipers) when I want someone to feel bad. But I think you did just fine -- one less Thale's in the universe is a good thing no matter how you do it.

I don't' know about the rest of you, but my impression is that matchmaking has improved since the introduction of the new system. Sure you still have some lopsided battles, but the frequency of the evenly matched ones has gone WAY up.
