I prefer to think of it less as a "nade glitch" and more as a "treasured memory of removing Thale's Sniper Rifles from the game by the dozen."

I like the Scrambler/Laser Rifle one where if you hit crouch then sprint you could circumvent the stun, you still took more overheat damage if you fired for too long so it was a lot better than the blatantly broken things like permanent invisibility that could be achieved every spawn.
Didn't that take until 1.3 to get fixed?

Bro, we used the proper channels and even had videos of the sprint bug. You even went into a forum thread mentioning that you'd never heard of it (much to the surprise of the -entire- community) and it -still- hasn't gotten fixed
I mean, no offense, but I have an entire youtube channel that shows a plethora of bugs that still occur (since December, even) but you even mentioned that you wanted players to record the bugs to find them... but, apparently, we have to continuously repost the same threads/videos in order for them to get noticed because if they're too old no-one will see them!
This was one of the things I was mentioning a while back about communication - we use the proper avenues that you guys want us to but nothing ever happens and it somehow goes unnoticed. If we had proper support for and ISD volunteer-based bug hunting team (something I've been bitching about for years at this point) which can contact the appropriate devs DIRECTLY, we might not have this problem.

Yeah what he said! Kind of like FOTM, the bolt pistol (hand cannon), inertia-less movement of scouts, scout run glitch, rendering when in a dropship, modded controllers, wrecking RDV drunkenness lol, and many other things that clearly need fixing.
It's hard to play competitively when the other team is using broken mechanics to win?! They don't have the integrity and intestinal fortitude to win or lose fair and square so they run glitches and take advantage of broken mechanics.
When you report these things very few are actually dealt with?! Rattati is my hero in comparison to his predecessors, but he's one man. Before CCP scraps this game they need to focus on some of these things so it doesn't carry over to legion.

There is no hitbox issues unique to Cal Scouts. You just are having trouble hitting fast-moving targets along with many of the remaining good killers in this game running that suit.
First, the devs confirmed there are no hitbox isues.
But, please be cynical, and don't believe them. Run a test. Queue sync with a buddy onto opposite sides of a factional warfare. Get two scouts that strafe the same speed (i.e. fast like an un-armor-plated Cal Scout so typically seen on the battlefield) and one of the non-Cal Scouts. Now, do some tests (like we did) and find out that the real issue you're seeing is strafe-speed related (and frame-rate/lag related) rather than anything inherently wrong with the Cal Scout hit box...because you'll see the same thing will all fast-strafing scouts (and Min Assaults too).
Or just keep complaining about some fictional problem and see where that gets you.....Leadfoot
p.s. just like MKB provides some magical advantage to strafe speed, the Cal Scout hitbox issue is an excuse to explain lackluster gun skills and how the game reacts -- for all of us -- to low frame rate and fast moving targets....and easily confirmed through actual testing. |

Actually my bro and I tested this. There is a hit detection problem on cal scouts when using a RR but only the cal scout. We didn't take a vid and idc too. If someone doesn't believe it then they're the ones who should test it. But I could care less since I don't play anymore.

In either case my point is it isn't getting fixed. Battle after battle I've tested this theory in real time. Not some out by the redline "shoot me standing still" to prove an arbitrary point?!
Nevertheless, none of it has been fixed so I'll keep running in terror from, scouts in general, and tanked cal scouts until it is. My assault gk.0 with an average ehp of 700-1000 running from scout ck.0 with average ehp of 300- 500?! Makes total sense especially when I get a clear jump on him from behind, and I start shooting first. How can he use his "gun game" to "strafe" all ninja like if he doesn't see me? Mind you now in this scenario, which is all to often lately, he's already being engaged from the front by two! When I start firing he turns around, still has shields, and kills me with his amazing sidearm "gun game". No issues with that because some guys ARE truly that good at being shooters, and I wouldn't dare take that away, but how does he walk away from that after I'm dead? Remember that two guys were already shooting him!
Whether your test is 100% accurate, or there are some form of hit detection issue. The problem is that CCP hasn't looked into it. Lag, hit detection, lack of inertia, etc. Cal scouts and Min Assaults are walking away from thrashing in record numbers, and it ain't because of "gun game".

Someone mention that bugs that we are dealing with today will be solve in Legion - it is partly true, because Legion is being writhed from 0, so there are less chances that game will share identical bugs with Dust. Question remains if the Legion will be finished will it be possible to copy partially of it's code to Dust in order to fix those bugs? And we do not know answer to this question today and it will probably do not change until FF 2015. At the moment the future of this game despite the fact of 'how much goods HF program are actually do', looks quite gray. HF will not bring crowds of players with this game need to survive for a longer period of time - even patches had problem with bringing crowds to game.. well even game launch had problem with this, and I'm completely objective here.
CCP politics on bug fixing have huge impact on what kind of community we have and how large it is. Many good players that was caring about game and wanted to increase it's quality, and at the same point bringing more customers and cash to CCP burn out faster because of this situation. Of cures everyone would eventually leave the game, but this process should take time and in CCP best interest is to extend it to maximum with content that works(at basic form). It's hard to rebuild someone trust.
I'm may sound a little raw here, but I have good intention: Dear CCP you are losing good opinion because of those bugs and things that are broke in Dust, and this really applies to the entire company.
I understand that CCP employ that gone read it have limited resources, and he probably have some stubborn boss. I also understand that it's not about being "lazy"; finding and fixing bug is very hard and challenging task(you do not have to fix all of them instantly, just one at the time).
PS And telling to players that 'bugs will be fix tomorrow' sounds way much more better then 'use officials channels' IMO.

I keep getting the bug where it tells me that the matches I join don't exist anymore, so I can't play any of them. I, also, can't voice.
