41. Pro Tip: Don't shoot non-AV weapons at Assault Dropships - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
I don't know if it was an assault drop ship, but I stripped the shield off a drop ship with a HMG - which made it freak and run away (which was the intention)

42. Increasing ISK - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
How about calling in a LAV at the start. Put droplinks near the action, drive away. Hack turrets or objectives (after turning on your lavs scanner), then drive away. Once all of those are done, go back to the starting objective, park in a safe spo...

43. Vehicle non owner lock out - how to turn it off? - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
Gah!? Why shorten it? Just add a button (like holding a button) to turn it off. Then again I'm saying this in regard to a dev team who had trouble changing the kill message without it saying 'hello world!' by mistake. Thanks for the info, 50LD...

44. Vehicle non owner lock out - how to turn it off? - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
It seems like even if you want someone else to get in your vehicle right after calling it, you can't? How do you turn off the other player lock out?

47. So, swarms got nerfed, eh? - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
Came back after a gap. Wow. Used to be that you'd swarm launcher a tank and...you'd never kill them. They'd just run away and come back two minutes latter. Now they don't even run away. When you're dropping advanced on them (from near point bla...

Also turn on the function that only lets you fight other mouse users, if you're a mouse user. Oh yeah...no such function.

51. Do lasers actually do less damage at close range? - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
Crazy graphs. Tiny window of opportunity there - wait no, a massive opportunity, so big you both have to have an overload that self damages and incapacitates the user! Clearly!

52. Do lasers actually do less damage at close range? - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
I'm hoping that all the negatives of the laser are a legacy of it's initial draft form and eventually they will come back around to it to review it. It really doesn't need to be able to overheat and nearly freeze you, have less damage than an AR a...

53. The Tactical Guide to Uplink Strategy - in Rookie Training Grounds [original thread]
You should mention facing . The direction someone faces when they spawn is the same direction you faced when you threw the droplink out. Thus running up to a wall and throwing one out will lead to people spawning, facing a blank wall. This l...

I remember a few close range encounters and they just didn't seem to do anything much (of course the other dude was strafing, but they do that with AR and still get hurt alot)

It's funny - I started using the assault scramber, but most of this guide is almost like it's about another weapon entirely! I've seen folks use the alpha very effectively. But using a controller, I never feel confident I'll hit.

Almost sounds like a case for those crazy sniper surfers, the ones who ride drop ships and snipe from them, to pick off the red liner. Or maybe ride in and drop a series of RE's from altitude over the sniper, then detonate.
