Anyone know how much damage a RE does to the back of a tank when it's placed on it's "crit" spot?
A strange game.

In Uprising ~1.4, I placed 2-3 REs under a Gunnlogi that didn't see me. Obliterated it. Doesn't need to be on the crit spot, but if you want to know, there's lots of factors involved (Resistances, modules, hardeners, etc).

I had someone put two on my maddy when I tried to run him over (nearly impossible in HAV now which is weird considering LAV teamkills in faction war) and it took my shields and 3/4 of my armor, my hardeners had run out so I dunno what it would have been like with them on. I like that REs can stick to tanks but I dunno if letting them stick to LAVs is a good idea, I had someone try to ram my tank with an RE laden LAV and when I destroyed it he teamkilled someone with the REs =/ |

tried it out myself ,apparently you dont get damage bonus for RE blasts to the tanks speical spot(which sucks a bit),with no hardners or anything going i did around 6500 with 3 REs to a maddy's back with his shield down(end of battle sceen damage dealt),

Ahhh the Jihad Jeep! Perfectly viable tactic against tanks and great for griefing too! Load up a 10k Logi suit loaded up with multiple versions of the RE's and stack em all on your free LAV BPO and then: RAMMING SPEED!!! |

When I was flying my dropship around, I saw an enemy HAV with an undetonated RE sitting on the back of it, so the tactic probably isn't advisable.

I use 4 RE's myself to do the job. ProtoRE's.

One of those tanks with missiles on it was parked outside an objective. But 3 STD REs on it, hacked it, took it for a spin around the block, parked it back at the objective.
Got killed by the black suited owner. Respawned and the tank was gone. I figured he was taking it away to hunt or recover it. So I called in my anti thief device and boom tank gone and a kill.
Turrent - the sound a tankers pants makes when he finds out the four swarm militia doing squats around him aren't AFK.

continuing where i left off.
After afew hours of blowing up my own tanks in FW to test out RE damages ,IGÇÖve gotten pretty good info
Tested REs on a Sica(4028 Shields /1500 Armor) unlikely to be in a real game but testing for extremes No vehicle skills invested No mods, hardeners, boosters etc running
-When a pack of 3 REs were placed together DIRECTLY on the battery pack on the Sica's back, the tank received a total of 4736 damage, Shield was completely blown off leaving 792 armor left. The test was repeated multiple times with the same result.
-When 3 REs together were placed on top of the tankGÇÖs turret, tread wheel armor plates (top ones have Caldari logo) or in that space between the two sets of wheels, the tank received a total of 5186 damage (1500 damage to shields per RE) completely blowing off the shield leaving the Sica with 342 armor left (tested multiple times with same result)
-When REs were detonated directly under the Sica as if the tank drove over them, the Sica was completely destroyed(1500 damage to shields per RE,), OHKOd, no more tank, repeated same results multiple times(many test tanks lost)
-When placing 3 Res together on the actual GÇ£wheelsGÇ¥ of the tank at its back or the lower tread wheel armor plate, the tank receives only 3600 damage leaving only 428 shields and leaving the armor untouched at 1500. (This oneGÇÖs a little strange and highly inconstant compared to the others)
Conclusion: Best spots to place/detonate ALL 3 RE are either under the tank itself (belly) or on the armor plates on the sides of the tank protecting the tread wheels (where the Caldari logo is). IGÇÖd also suggest the battery pack(weak point) on the SicaGÇÖs back though you get less total damage than you do with the othermore accessible areas of the tanks.
i havent done testing for armor tanks yet but so far a soma with 1200shileds 6030 armor can take 6150 damage to the weak spot plate on its back from 3 REs just leaving 1080 armor left.

Is there anything to support the actaully being a critical or more vunerable spots?I believe all sides seem to take damage equally. I had tried shooting a turret etc. all seem to take it equally.
