In EVE, Gallente have the second fastest base speeds (generally) but then armour makes them slower.
As for increasing our speed, it'll take a lot more than a 0.1 increase to even make the slightest difference. I think the inherent regen should be 3hp/s with the speed boost. Minmatar should then get 3hp/s which would mean they're still the fastest and they keep their regen.
Amarr can... I dunno. I don't know much about them. +3 armour save? |

amarr are second fastest in EVE, gallente are slow, thats why they rely on electronic warfare and drones... minnie are fastest, followed by amarr, then caldari, then gallente... just because gallente have one fast frigate doesnt mean they are the second fastest overall...
gallente are known to be slow, tanky, and rely on other factors. Amarr are medium speed heavy tank, caldari is close to the same by stats. minnie has speed and is ok at everything |

depending on what class i guess... frigs... amarr ships are actually pretty fast... idk... its an endless argument i think because you have to factor in agility and max velocity and bla bla bla |

At any rate, the Gallente suit is crap. |

maybe since they usually rely on electronic warfare to support them, add an equipment slot and tweak the cpu/pg? |

CCP...
Do it.
Edit: On a more serious note, this would be perfect. It would mean Gallenteans could run armour repair tools and alleviate some of the problems with armour tanking. You are a genius!!! |

Edit: So I looked at the Amarr suit, GTFO LOL. You get an extra FIFTY stamina, as well as a better recovery rate, more base hp AND higher PG/CPU. Your suit is fine!
Minmatar should get 1 HP/s and the Caldari get 0 HP/s, and give the Gallente and Amarr 3 HP/s. Minmatar are shield tanks so to them its more of a novelty, for us it is a necessity.

Gallente are the second fastest in EVE with base speed, but because armor tanking slows you down they become the slowest, but they are also great active tanks which technically makes them the second fastest, to bad active armor tanking is Dust is crappy compared to active shield tanking, which can go all they way to 64.18. The amarr are the third fastest in base speed but also they can have a lot more armor HP than the Gallente.

in EVE Minmatar are definitely not shield tanks. most ships can be set up as either. most of my and everyone elses solo pvp fits must be wrong then
as for speed, like i said, velocity vs agility vs versatility.... its not a black and white argument. which is faster? Formula One or Drag Cars? well that can only be answered with, in a straight line or on curves? lets say curves... well are they using different fuel than everyone else or the most common mix? (the fitting)
there is no winning that argument... too many factors... Base speed gallente are second, factor in more stuff, it changes... thats why i said what i said |

Gallente are lighter (the EVE equivalent of kincats are the MicroWarpdrive and afterburners) which means mods make them faster when equipped, Gallente can speed tank. The drones and EW just make them more aggressive. Amarr just like to soak up damage |

what about frigates? what about BS's? and it depends on fitting. depends on class.
gallente frigates are slow as **** after being fitted with the "norm"...
Battleships are different order as well
how about all the other classes?
what about the out of the box fits that are specialized to fight a specific ship?
its not a black and white argument... it never will be... thats the vision behind EVE Online... i can make a T1 frigate faster than an interceptor for the single purpose of just killing interceptors... i can make a ship that is made specifically to kill caldari and gallente ships... unless that pilot changes their fit and make their ship faster. or with more damage. or longer range...
raw numbers without the whole fitting do not mean that much |

BTW, with a different class bonus (not the racial bonus), assaults would be a little more balanced, shield recharge is useless for gallente while it's very important for caldari or other shield tankers, there should be a bonus that influences primarily weapons instead of dropsuits. Another point is that the weapons that deal heavy damage to armor are more easy to use than the ones that damage shields (MD,flay, nades). |

I hear that!
As for the EVE argument going on here, it doesn't matter discussing fittings etc to make a ship something it isn't.
The point here is that the base dropsuit needs to be in line with it's base EVE counterpart. Currently it is not. |

Minmintar are NOT shield tanks. minmintar are the fastest but have the LOWEST ehp. they are also the MOST versitile. that said, their shields and armor are lower so their reps should be higher. the minmintars 3 specialties are SPEED, VARIABILITY, and REPAIRS. so a 3hp/s, with their current speed and a more evenly distributed slot load out would make them work how they do in EVE. which is perfectly fine.
Amar DO NOT repair. They hybrid tank, the shield and armor tank as much as they can so they have the higest overall ehp but the lowest speed.
Caldari = shield tank
galente = armor tank. since the galente and minmintar are allied and share tech, self repairing suits are perfectly viable for them. a higher base speed is also desirable for a galente. since the galente have almost no shields an Armor rep of 4hp/s wouldn't be too much (ie. the flux nade is a galente invention) |

For the Minmatar I am assuming they keep their current load out. For the Amarr this is assuming they don't get their HP severely buffed. |

the way hulls work in EVE is they have to get thru your shields and armor, to get to the hull... dropsuits dont have hulls, why? because they are not structures. your merc without armor or shields is the structure... so when you have 0 hp and are still alive, you are effectively hull tanking lol |

Yeah, armor is in a bad way right now. Mainly against the explosive stuff that just gets spammed. I hate it.
But if you're having a problem in 1v1.... have you tried pairing up your Gal suit w/ a scrambler rifle?
I have to say man... Gal Suit w/ Scrambler Rifle > Cal Suit w/ Assault Rifle. *Everytime*
I mean if you break 500+ Armor HP and have around 12 hp/s regen, and pair that up with a scrambler rifle... with a damage mod or 2.... Not even the absolute toughest Caldari suit will win a showdown.
I mean they just can't do it. You will out-dps them every time.
If you use Gallente Suits, I STRONGLY recommend getting familiar with the scrambler rifle. It's a good balanced utility weapon, and it will shut down Caldari suits in a heartbeat. Guaranteed. |

Drawing out a scrambler rifle against a caldari suit, is like pulling out a can of Raid against a roach. Proto caldari assaults and logis? No problem. They'll shrivel up, die, and evaporate in moments with a scrambler rifle.
The scrambler rifle makes a great utility weapon for armor users. It's balanced, powerful, has good range, and persistence. It's not going to eliminate armor's imbalance right now, but it will give you a significant advantage in a 1v1 firefight vs. a caldari with an ar.
Gallente Suit w/ Scrambler Rifle > Caldari Suit w/ Assault Rifle.
All it boils down to is your gun game. Not really. I don't have a problem killing Caldari scum, but the point is that the Gallente suit is just plain worse than the Caldari one. |
