The fight between armour and shield is a long, drawn out one. But why, oh why, is the Gallente suit worse than the Caldari one in every way.
Give us Gallenteans something for once will you!? |

Give us Gallenteans something for once will you!? I give you vehicles that our perform shield in repair rate, total HP, speed, and fitting options. On a serious note, armor tanking is extremely weak currently. If they gave a big buff to plate HP without increasing the speed penalty, they'd be close to balanced. With regards to their balance in vehicles you have to remember that most forms of AV do a massive 40% extra damage to armour, so while your shield tank me be slower, and rep slower (which isn't true anymore) and have less total hp, it actually has about 40% more hp than an armour tank in the majority of situations.
With that said, this is for dropsuits only. Tanks can gtfo.
It's not even about fixing armour vs shield, it's just about balancing the Gallente suit with the others. The Gallente suit is literally identical or worse in every way except for armour, which is also just flipped from the Caldari's shield stat. |

Base stats are exactly the same, exempt the HP swaps between the shield and armor, only thing that differs is slot layouts. Armor does need fixing however, I'll agree with you there. Depends upon your interpretation of the sentence. They are literwlly worse in every way because the suit overall is either identical or worse. There are no stats on the Gallente suit that are better.
As for the Amarr, you're fine with your higher base hp and all the benefits that brings.
As for this thread, it's about fixing the Gallente suit, not about shield vs armour.
And armour is not fine. |

In EVE, Gallente have the second fastest base speeds (generally) but then armour makes them slower.
As for increasing our speed, it'll take a lot more than a 0.1 increase to even make the slightest difference. I think the inherent regen should be 3hp/s with the speed boost. Minmatar should then get 3hp/s which would mean they're still the fastest and they keep their regen.
Amarr can... I dunno. I don't know much about them. +3 armour save? |

Stands Alone wrote:amarr are second fastest in EVE, gallente are slow, thats why they rely on electronic warfare and drones... minnie are fastest, followed by amarr, then caldari, then gallente... just because gallente have one fast frigate doesnt mean they are the second fastest overall...
gallente are known to be slow, tanky, and rely on other factors. Amarr are medium speed heavy tank, caldari is close to the same by stats. minnie has speed and is ok at everything Well whatever, maybe they have different design philosophies for the soldiers on the ground? Maybe you're wrong? Maybe I'm wrong?
At any rate, the Gallente suit is crap. |

Stands Alone wrote:maybe since they usually rely on electronic warfare to support them, add an equipment slot and tweak the cpu/pg? Oooh now that would make me very happy.
CCP...
Do it.
Edit: On a more serious note, this would be perfect. It would mean Gallenteans could run armour repair tools and alleviate some of the problems with armour tanking. You are a genius!!! |

I hear that!
As for the EVE argument going on here, it doesn't matter discussing fittings etc to make a ship something it isn't.
The point here is that the base dropsuit needs to be in line with it's base EVE counterpart. Currently it is not. |

Jathniel wrote:If 1v1 is your problem vs. caldari suits, you should try to get yourself familiar with the scrambler rifle. It's your best friend.
Drawing out a scrambler rifle against a caldari suit, is like pulling out a can of Raid against a roach. Proto caldari assaults and logis? No problem. They'll shrivel up, die, and evaporate in moments with a scrambler rifle.
The scrambler rifle makes a great utility weapon for armor users. It's balanced, powerful, has good range, and persistence. It's not going to eliminate armor's imbalance right now, but it will give you a significant advantage in a 1v1 firefight vs. a caldari with an ar.
Gallente Suit w/ Scrambler Rifle > Caldari Suit w/ Assault Rifle.
All it boils down to is your gun game. Not really. I don't have a problem killing Caldari scum, but the point is that the Gallente suit is just plain worse than the Caldari one. |

Any more support on this subject? The Caldari suit is literally better in every way than the Gallente suit. Can we get some love any time soon? And not soon GÇ£tmGÇ¥. |
