Armor vs shields will never be balanced if they just balance it by buffing plates, unless they gave all Armor suits 1 extra low slot. Fact is that since armor suits always lose a low slot to armor repairers we essentially have the same slot usage as a Caldari suit, therefore our armor HP will always be the same. The only way to fix armor is by increasing the efficacy of modules racially, and lower their fitting costs. |

yea be a sniper... thats honestly the only thing armor is good for. Aside from that it sucks ass in front line combat. |

As for increasing our speed, it'll take a lot more than a 0.1 increase to even make the slightest difference. I think the inherent regen should be 3hp/s with the speed boost. Minmatar should then get 3hp/s which would mean they're still the fastest and they keep their regen.
Amarr can... I dunno. I don't know much about them. +3 armour save?
Edit: So I looked at the Amarr suit, GTFO LOL. You get an extra FIFTY stamina, as well as a better recovery rate, more base hp AND higher PG/CPU. Your suit is fine!
Minmatar should get 1 HP/s and the Caldari get 0 HP/s, and give the Gallente and Amarr 3 HP/s. Minmatar are shield tanks so to them its more of a novelty, for us it is a necessity.
Stands Alone wrote:amarr are second fastest in EVE, gallente are slow, thats why they rely on electronic warfare and drones... minnie are fastest, followed by amarr, then caldari, then gallente... just because gallente have one fast frigate doesnt mean they are the second fastest overall...
gallente are known to be slow, tanky, and rely on other factors. Amarr are medium speed heavy tank, caldari is close to the same by stats. minnie has speed and is ok at everything
Gallente are the second fastest in EVE with base speed, but because armor tanking slows you down they become the slowest, but they are also great active tanks which technically makes them the second fastest, to bad active armor tanking is Dust is crappy compared to active shield tanking, which can go all they way to 64.18. The amarr are the third fastest in base speed but also they can have a lot more armor HP than the Gallente.

Minmintar are NOT shield tanks. minmintar are the fastest but have the LOWEST ehp. they are also the MOST versitile. that said, their shields and armor are lower so their reps should be higher. the minmintars 3 specialties are SPEED, VARIABILITY, and REPAIRS. so a 3hp/s, with their current speed and a more evenly distributed slot load out would make them work how they do in EVE. which is perfectly fine. Amar DO NOT repair. They hybrid tank, the shield and armor tank as much as they can so they have the higest overall ehp but the lowest speed. Caldari = shield tank galente = armor tank. since the galente and minmintar are allied and share tech, self repairing suits are perfectly viable for them. a higher base speed is also desirable for a galente. since the galente have almost no shields an Armor rep of 4hp/s wouldn't be too much (ie. the flux nade is a galente invention)
For the Minmatar I am assuming they keep their current load out. For the Amarr this is assuming they don't get their HP severely buffed. |

Well the way hull works in EVE and how armor works in Dust we, the Gallente and Amarr, are hull tanks. |

Dropsuits dont have hulls.... heh Well the way hull works in EVE and how armor works in Dust we, the Gallente and Amarr, are hull tanks. the way hulls work in EVE is they have to get thru your shields and armor, to get to the hull... dropsuits dont have hulls, why? because they are not structures. your merc without armor or shields is the structure... so when you have 0 hp and are still alive, you are effectively hull tanking lol
In eve hull is your last line of HP, in dust Armor is your last line of HP. This is what we tank with therefore in dust armor tanking is hull tanking :P when your hull HP is lost your ship is lost, when your armor is lost your suit is lost. |
