I used to be able to play Dust all day in the Chromosome build and that was using a Scout suit. Back when Scouts didn't have super speed and could run around without being hit, when aiming was at it's best. I still managed to find fun and joy in playing Dust using a AR at that.
Now...I play a few hours IF Teamplayers is on. The game isn't even worth soloing at all. The shooting is just god awful now. I am getting to the point that even if all the Teamplayers were on I am still finding myself wanting to even waste anymore time on this game. As it stands right now for me I would rather NOT play this game at all than play it with Teddybears and smurfs. I would rather AFK and earn nearly as much SPs and ISK as a person playing the full game and losing suits while I don't lose a dime.
The whole I get fatter when I jump and sprint method, that is also getting old. I understand it's a smurf mechanic to help the Eve players attempt to be relevant. This game is nothing more than a simple man's "shooter" It's made for the guy who doesn't know how to play a shooter. It has semi auto grenade launchers. Kamehameha guns that 1 shot all infanty and can only be used with a suit that is built to take at least 30-40 bullets consecutive. People complain about the most basic gun (AR) I mean cmon.
One of the most effective tactics other than the Kamehameha is just driving around aimlessly running people over.....The game has potential....I think this word potential is getting blown out to be something amazing. A bum on the side of the streets has potential. That is pretty much what Dust is to the console world of shooters. The bum game who couldn't do anything right and ultimately should just be moved to PC already. Most the guys who are competitive at this game are KB/M players anyway there is really no need for this game to remain on Playstation or the console world(Sony fanboy so see Xbox as my enemy and I wouldn't wish this game on even them) I have a pretty high tolerance for failure too(Been playing the Socom series and Socom hasn't been good since Socom3 Combined Assault and I been playing the whole series Confrontation and Socom4 which were horrible)
At the current direction this game is heading, on the broken road that it's clearly on. I really don't see much potential at all. Anybody can create a bedazzled image of a successful future. To put in a motto everybody can relate to. "You can talk the talk but can you walk the walk?" It takes 2-4 months for anything worthy of mentioning to happen. At this rate the game will not be balanced for another 2-3 years. IF this game makes it through the test of time and stays on console, this game honestly won't be worth playing till it's on Playstation4 in 2-3 years.

I didn't even mention the whole "Live with your decisions" motto. I think this is a joke when today you make a decision and 2-4 months from the time you made that decision it can get completely destroyed. Honestly even IF respecs were given I wouldn't even know if I would want to spec into anything because IF you spec into anything that is effective it will only get changed in the future anyway. If you spec into something that is weak you are looking at being irrelevant for about 6-10 months depending on how long it takes CCP to just nerf everything else and give you that buff.
I feel the method CCP does right now is not working and isn't ever gonna work. It really feels like every time they nerf something they buff something else. Creating a never ending paradox of FoTM (which honestly I think this is the plan to keep selling boosters and opens up future paid for respecs) A simple method to this that would actually be positive would be just keep nerfing everything no buffs till everything is eventually weak and that would create balance. Most "good" players just spec and when their build becomes broken or worthless they stay away from the game and AFK farm till the day where their weapon is strong again or have the AFK SP built to spec into something else. |

Have to admit,I'm burned out with this game too.
There's not enough content.
The promise of every shot matters isn't true right now
.Solo-ing,for the most part,is a death sentence.Weapons, vehicles, and dropsuits still need some balancing, and will need more balancing once more content is added.
Speaking of-lack of content is just plain wrong with as long as this game has been in development.
My problem is that I've upgraded my PC recently and have been playing more game on it,and subsequently,it has shown a very bright light on Dust's inadequacies to a point that when ever I play Dust now,I feel dirty and just turn it off after a match or two.

I feel the same way!
Hopefully,if this is the case,it's what will help fund the development of a PS4 game, but even then,I just feel like too much trust is lost with CCP.
All of the promises that have yet to come to fruition, and by the time they do,better game will be out,and Dust won't be worth playing anymore do to the total lack of playerbase.

Well I see people always saying you are QQing but you don't offer any advice or ways for them to fix the problem. This is game design101 but just in case they funded a game company and have no idea how to make a game I have gave a couple of really great suggestions. If you nerf everything down it still creates total balance. When you nerf weapons for the love of Christ STOP buffing something else creating a FoTM.
The get fatter while sprint thing simply fix it! The whole creating schemes to get our money if you truly create a good game people will want to give you money or feel you have earned their money. You shouldn't have to keep nerfing and buffing creating cash traps.
Stick to ONE thing, prioritize! Fix the content you already have THAN work on newer content. Pick a project and invest all employees till the problem is solved!

i think people have just lost faith... every single patch seems to break something.
Even 1.3... comms are more buggy than ever, and now for some reason the 'press o to revive' mechanic takes 3x longer than it did in 1.2? Seriously? WTF? Why does all of this unrelated **** always have to constantly break patch after patch??
And then they removed the best game mode (Ambush OMS)
I am losing faith that this game will be better... as it seems to get worse every patch. |

Absolutely this. Even 'bad' PVE would keep people entertained for a few months. And just face it, would be hard to best 'Pubstomps' for a ****** game so PVE would win by default.

I couldn't find the willingness to play the game today, although I had 50 k SP left to cap which is rare since it usually takes me a couple of hours in one day to cap. I was finally willing to login... so I played one game and I realized the love/faith for Dust was finally gone. The reason could be DCUO but I hate that game so far since I just started playing without any upgrade or DLC
Even if Dust moves to the PC in the future... I wouldn't even bother downloading the game because it is a matter of the development team and CCP trying to apply EVE's practices in Dust which are not going to work because the FPS segment's mindset is totally different. |

The belief that a suit, a module or weapon makes the a huge difference is what got me the most. Its exuasting...and misleading.
As my first online fps rpg I fealt I had something to prove. Once I learned how to stalk, aim and spend sp I hit the isk wall.
I have had the duvolle unlocked for over a month and dont even touch it becaus I know proto is going to be so expensive and I can only equip one weapon and lighter armor.
The game is great. Maps are huge and suits, weapons and customization are great, but ffs sake where is my reward for 20-25 hours a week with 60 dollars spent on aurum? Gek 38 was unlocked week 2.
I get it and am grateful that you cannot be a scrub here and advance. The game makes you play right. If you suck you spam flaylocks or drive something.
But is misses oppurtunites to reward its true followers.

I don't play nearly what I used to, mainly because heavy has been stuck with the same one race and two heavy weapons it's had since day 1 of beta.
I'll play more again when there's more heavy content. (And just to be devils advocate, I think the gun game is pretty close to as fluid as Chromosome now. It still feels different, but its been vastly improved.) |

People who think PVE will fix a FPS game... need to go back to EVE or WOW forums your not helping here.
why there is a militia forge gun... no sane person would ever know...
Why the mass driver does silly no damage on 200 shield but will 1 shot 300 armor... or why a grenade launcher's splash damage affects the user for a decreased damage percentage, different to any practical use of that gun type ever in any FPS.. no sane person would know.
Why make a 1 shot mass AOE weapon(plasma cannon) that does no splash and has no hit detection and is broken out of the gate?
Why continue to allow people to spend 95% of their time playing in the "red line" and not penalize them. 2-5 minute counter to 0% damage, 10mins no match rewards. 5 min's of no control's input and kicked from match.
With a dynamic map creation process why is EVERYONE bored with the maps? WHO THE HELL ASKED FOR A TINY BRIDGE TO FIGHT ON?! i thought we all wanted a MASSIVE pyramid in the center... bridge??
Who is CCP even making this game for? this is a free game not "EVE" where u pay a subscription, and CCP nerf's something you have to get over it. FPS players just won't take it, they will just leave and go invest their time into something else.
They continue to give us stuff they haven't mentioned, we haven't asked for or even mentioned or complained about. Example;
- The increased "red line" area's in Map's. Who even complained they where not big enough? i think all the argument's was to making them smaller. and the ONE map that red line was an issue didn't even get a intelligent look at (Pipe map)
-Logi LAV BUFF, how did they even touch the health of this already strong vehicle and not give it an ability to GAIN war points from doing its PURPOSE repairing infantry/structures/vehicles. And buffing vehicles health and nerfing AV grenade tracking is the double buff example they seem overly fond of in their shortsighted creation to action process.
-LAV sound. i remember logging on after patch and thinking "they sound badass"... the problem isyo u seriously cant hear even a full out roaring motor at all in the sound registry.... till its on top of you.
Seriously could go on for a while.. its sad but DUST is slowly becoming a filler game you play for an hour and wonder if there was something better you could of done with your time.

Sorry sunshine, close but no cigar. Even 'hardcore' shooters need a break, and that is often PVE. A change of pace, or more content, whatever you want to call it.
Even EVE which is primarily targeted at PVP players, has a large and extremely popular NPC component.
Yes, all those problems you mentioned are a problem, however if the game had more, and more interesting, things to do, they would be slightly more bearable while getting fixed.

You want PVE before good MMO PVP mechanics in an online FPS? Go play Warframe. All PvP and just about the same amount of meaningful interaction in an MMO universe as DUST has.
I say screw PVE until we have A.) good gameplay mechanics (shooting, movement) B.) an actual command system in games C.) content completion (all racial weapon suit and vehicle lines filled) D.) more gamemodes that are actually interesting and tactical E.) the thousands of maps we were promised and not just the same terrain with some building cosmetics swapped out. |

ANY multiplayer FPS game that has stood the test of time, FPS games still played in international competitive leagues focused on being a FPS when they called them self's one. How many balancing attempts did Counter-strike need? Quake?
We all played this game with less content in beta, and there was a majesty about the game that would pull u in for hours if not the entire day if not careful. It's not bitter vet disease that is causing the drop in activity, despite the troll consensus. |

I've stopped playing DUST, and no longer have a desire to play it anymore... for a variety of reasons:
1) I play as a scout, with well documented uselessness 2) I play as a heavy, with only two weapons, and one suit I don't like 3) Many are consistently QQ-ing about the Forgegun, my favourite heavy weapon (I don't want to get too attached, lest CCP idiotically decides to nerf it due to morons that are inept at this game).
The only way I'll come back is with more content for heavies. Hopefully 1.4 will bring it. If not... well, I'm patient, and have passive SP. I am quite adept at the waiting game, if I do say so myself. |

I feel the same way as the OP now, I quit the game in the open beta in sheer disgust, a bunch of guys frommy BF3 clan came here and said "its great now, come and play" ANd it gets worse, I wanted to be an assault player so I have speccedinto both AR and SCR weapons but what is the point of the game now,the SPcapneeds to go or be increased cos 200k a week is sod all when yout trying to get to proto while being pubstomped by entire teams of protos due to borked matchmaking, now virtually no one plays.I have to either go solo (known as suicide and get raged mode) or team up with othe EoN guys who do not know me, my playstyle so its not as good a fit and I burn ISK so fast I dont make any, Yes I have BPO suits but they are kinda useless when the entire enemy team is either death taxi, tanks with proto turrets or protostompers woth red line snipers you cannot even see.
Game is broken, sadly, Yes I know CCP have never made an FPS but, they could have subocntracted gearbox or treyarch or whoever thatr has some history of making this style of game, instead it feel like they hired some of the DICE employess:
1)OP FOTM weapons 2)Stupid bugs that should not happen 3);azy and generic design processes in general
They did fix the injector great:) but now why the freaking heck does it take so long to do? end result I seem to be the only person carrying them in a game
There is alot to be fixed and its probably about time that the devs and CPM's sat down in say a skype text chat or something and actually spoke to the ppl using their product before it becomes a total fustercluck |

And you kind of bare your EVE noobish side by that comment. Its a PVP based game.. the player driven content, the stories, faction warfare, even "safe security space" isn't safe from PVP, and being ganked.
Played EVE from 2005-2011 with a few breaks, so thanks, I actually know how the PVE works. It doesn't change the fact that its a major part of the game. Having the ability to disturb the PVE is not always a bad thing, and actually makes it seem more 'real'. This should also be integrated into DUST, as much as the lolPS3 can handle it. |

You started by saying teamplayers are gone and never on. That sucks if your guys arent on. But to me your attitude is wrong.
Everytime I come to forums or games I want to fight. I want to confront and argue. I am not online to make friends as much as I am looking for rivals. Beat the enemy, best in squad, best on team, best in game, best getting proto stomped. If you arent going to fight and compete thats sad.
As far as blaming the aim mechanic I know for a fact the second a true logi is following me with high specd repair gun its like I am shooting at elephants.
When I get my logi suit all of you are ******.
come at me.
