People who think PVE will fix a FPS game... need to go back to EVE or WOW forums your not helping here.
why there is a militia forge gun... no sane person would ever know...
Why the mass driver does silly no damage on 200 shield but will 1 shot 300 armor... or why a grenade launcher's splash damage affects the user for a decreased damage percentage, different to any practical use of that gun type ever in any FPS.. no sane person would know.
Why make a 1 shot mass AOE weapon(plasma cannon) that does no splash and has no hit detection and is broken out of the gate?
Why continue to allow people to spend 95% of their time playing in the "red line" and not penalize them. 2-5 minute counter to 0% damage, 10mins no match rewards. 5 min's of no control's input and kicked from match.
With a dynamic map creation process why is EVERYONE bored with the maps? WHO THE HELL ASKED FOR A TINY BRIDGE TO FIGHT ON?! i thought we all wanted a MASSIVE pyramid in the center... bridge??
Who is CCP even making this game for? this is a free game not "EVE" where u pay a subscription, and CCP nerf's something you have to get over it. FPS players just won't take it, they will just leave and go invest their time into something else.
They continue to give us stuff they haven't mentioned, we haven't asked for or even mentioned or complained about. Example;
- The increased "red line" area's in Map's. Who even complained they where not big enough? i think all the argument's was to making them smaller. and the ONE map that red line was an issue didn't even get a intelligent look at (Pipe map)
-Logi LAV BUFF, how did they even touch the health of this already strong vehicle and not give it an ability to GAIN war points from doing its PURPOSE repairing infantry/structures/vehicles. And buffing vehicles health and nerfing AV grenade tracking is the double buff example they seem overly fond of in their shortsighted creation to action process.
-LAV sound. i remember logging on after patch and thinking "they sound badass"... the problem isyo u seriously cant hear even a full out roaring motor at all in the sound registry.... till its on top of you.
Seriously could go on for a while.. its sad but DUST is slowly becoming a filler game you play for an hour and wonder if there was something better you could of done with your time.

Sorry sunshine, close but no cigar. Even 'hardcore' shooters need a break, and that is often PVE. A change of pace, or more content, whatever you want to call it.
Even EVE which is primarily targeted at PVP players, has a large and extremely popular NPC component.
Yes, all those problems you mentioned are a problem, however if the game had more, and more interesting, things to do, they would be slightly more bearable while getting fixed.
ANY multiplayer FPS game that has stood the test of time, FPS games still played in international competitive leagues focused on being a FPS when they called them self's one. How many balancing attempts did Counter-strike need? Quake?
We all played this game with less content in beta, and there was a majesty about the game that would pull u in for hours if not the entire day if not careful. It's not bitter vet disease that is causing the drop in activity, despite the troll consensus. |

Console players will not wait a decade.
Are people still playing previous consol gen FPS competitively? obviously not... are they playing Counter-strike on consol? yup and its an ancient game based on the quake engine.
With online and continuously updated products your better to compare an expanding product with computer titles as there are how many title versions for CoD, BF, Socom, ghost reacon |

And you kind of bare your EVE noobish side by that comment. Its a PVP based game.. the player driven content, the stories, faction warfare, even "safe security space" isn't safe from PVP, and being ganked. Played EVE from 2005-2011 with a few breaks, so thanks, I actually know how the PVE works. It doesn't change the fact that its a major part of the game. Having the ability to disturb the PVE is not always a bad thing, and actually makes it seem more 'real'. This should also be integrated into DUST, as much as the lolPS3 can handle it.
even the PVE in EVE your worried about PVP'ers coming in... in the most secure area's of the game. So no its not PVE and then PVP in EVE... FPS's aren't about pve content, even the most successful ones in majority have player base's that have never played the campaign for years. This in case is the problem Dust is facing skipping the fundamentals of a FPS and going to the "fun" stuff. |
