Todays discussion, Vehicle to Infantry Repair/Transporters, these are found on the Limbus (Armor Repair) or Charybdis (Shield Transporter)
Right now, I find them quite intolerable, I mean the entire function is very annoying trying to get the things in place. When trying to run them I have to ask my squad to stop so I can lock on to them, meaning they're more likely to get killed because they're standing still.
I'd like to discuss two options with these repairs, and I'd really like some feedback. Note, GM/CCP guys, this isn't a feedback thread, this is feedback for my eventual feedback thread, so it's a discussion and belongs in this forum, kthx.
Option 1: Logistic Bubble
When the module is activated, a bubble is created around the Logistics LAV, everyone inside the Bubble receives Armor or Shields depending on the vehicle.
For this to work, I'd suggest the following:
- Large Spherical radius - Reduced running time - Shorter Cooldown - Reduced HP (Not by much) per second - Not able to go through objects such as buildings.
Option 2: Redesign the current system
When the module is activated, you're able to lock on to infantry and when ready, you must hit the trigger and begin the repairs.
This is what it is currently, and needs a rework, the following suggestions: - Reduced lock on timer - Keep the Camera in the same place, rather than resetting to the default position every time you lock on to each player. - Allow beam to travel through walls (Most of the time, the rep is useless as it cuts out when someone goes past a lamppost or runs on bumpy terrain - Same cooldown, running time and healing per second
Additionally, some things need to be added overall to make being a logistical support vehicle worthwhile.
- Guardian Points, Armor or Shield repping, this should be basic for these vehicles, 35 points for Guardian like a repair tool. - Scan Assist, Running scans should give 5 Points per kill.
So, discuss pls? |

Seriously needs to be discussed, we've got all these whining little mugs crying about how strong the LLAV is, and when theres a way to make them useful without running people over, nobody responds, I'm sick of the infantry scrubs in this game.
I just sat in a match trying to play support, it was ******* awful, and in the end I died faster than I would if I had just gone around the match lolstomping everyone. |

Or auto-lock feature, that locks onto the nearest squadmates first, then anyone else around. you get a max of 5 locks. same for everything else. |

Bubble is a great idea. A big ol' moving nanohive. However, this should be limited to squads and not teams. |

I agree with the AOE, currently it's impossible to rep more than one person(max is 3) you lock on to one guy than it sling shot back to you. And don't get me started on it breaking locks, the only way to hold a lock is to jump out of the car while it reps, and trying to rep anyone beside you or behind you, we'll just forget that ****
This idea doesn't fix vehicle remote reps though |

i like the bubble idea, not sure how much that would take on dev level to actually make it happen but i see option 2 being the easier option for the devs do till the bubble idea is fully tested and comes out. that is what i see happening if anything. |

I fully agree that the whole remote system needs a complete overhaul. I also think it should be like a bubble as well. |

Can I propose a potential hybrid? AoE lock-on that latches onto everyone within 15-25m of the vehicle when triggered. Leeway of about 40m once beam is connected. Will continue transfer/repair for 3 seconds after beam is broken. Will only give up on automatically trying to regain lock after 10 seconds of the channel being broken.
Figures are mostly just to convey a sense of it. I think the feature should be intuitive, useful and give leeway for the squad to disperse a little and react to changing conditions without compromising the lock, also giving the LLAV a bit more freedom of movement.
Also, WPs. LLAVs being true logibros would be awesome and they should be rewarded WPs for being awesome. |

If the bubble idea is not feasible I suggest making the lock on reticle much wider and drastically reducing the lock time |

The bubble would be best. It would be no different than a repair nanohive, but more powerful due to it being a vehicle module. |

It's a good idea, but so much would need to change before this was introduced. If it came in now an already near indestructible vehicle like the Charybdis would be ridiculously over powered. |

Another thing that needs to really be looked at is the cooldown. Either let us re-lock rather than cancelling the module, or significantly reduce the cooldown. |

If it becomes so great that everyone wants to run with an LLAV, that's brilliant. If it's useful on the PC level you could get some interesting dynamics and strategies emerging. If it becomes recognised as a boon to the average pub player, wonderful. Wouldn't it be amazing if a LLAV turning up naturally becomes something for a team to rally around, if LLAVs became a common part of a ground force's composition? I am all for them becoming incredibly good at what they do.
Think about it. It's a first step in making the infantry and vehicle game much more closely linked. Infantry force rallies around LLAV. LLAV acts as force multiplier. Taking out LLAV becomes priority for the other side, emphasising AV. The infantry surrounding it and being protected by the LLAV must then in turn protect it, singling out the enemy AV. Congratulations, strong symbiotic relationship between vehicle and infantry achieved. You're now one of my favorite forum-goers. |

It's a LOGISTICS vehicle. It's SUPPOSED to HELP people. That in turn causes people to follow/support it. You don't like it, Activision will be glad to take your money. |

I'm a firm believer that Logistic Vehicles should be hench, as long as there are measures in place to make it so it's very difficult to run people over and iirc there is a 50% reduction on the turret damage output. Anything weaker and they'll never be used on the front line, ever. |

The LLAV concept doesn't even make sense. You put it on a jeep, then the jeep has to stay still... and within range.. Or just drive very slowly... it doesn't make sense. |

Eh it would make sense if the driver couldn't be shot out :P I still believe there should be a Logistic Support Medium Vehicle, that is slow but strong, and offers driver protection. Then it makes sense, it's a support vehicle, with sensors and repairs available as well as Troop Transport. |

I'm pretty sure that's what the MAV is for, as I'm sure there will be a LMAV variant for that as well.
All LAVs, including the LLAV, should be very fragile. Of course the LLAV should have slightly higher health/resist than the others, but right now it's just dumb. High health + high resist = bad. |
