I don't wear headphones, because they tend to affect my hearing, but that's a pretty weak rebuttal. There's something wrong with the game if headphones are needed to hear certain sounds, especially when they affect gameplay.

How loud should this noise be, how far can you hear it? One meter? Two? The first two examples you gave would not affect gameplay. As for a destructible environment, CCP probably can't make that work due to technological limitations, but I think it should happen eventually.
