Feel free to share your list.
1. Every session is completely different. Sometimes I play matches and every one is a landslide victory or crushing defeat because of the spawning. I don't know if it is because of faulty game mechanics, or intentional, but I actually like it. It makes you think overall, and longer term about your character's development. The never knowing what to expect thing is usually something I look forward to in DUST. I play CoD, MoH, or BF3 and I play the same way match after match because the game is easy to predict and figure out, it gets stale. So far, DUST isn't.
2. The skills are actually quite balanced. Skills that assist good players (i.e.- weapon upgrading) take enormous amounts of SP, thus leveling the playing field more. DUST makes it more apparent that you should play a role on your team, bit just be another drone with the same abilities as everyone else. You can give support, man vehicles, specialize in something ultra-specific, or be a killing machine. You can be self-centered, or team helpful all based on what skills you specialize into. Great concept that seems to have been pulled off in DUST.
3. The live action lobby/menus. Sure, they are a cause of a lot of malfunctions in the game, but when I first downloaded DUST and saw my character standing in his dorm, I was like WTF is this? Way cooler than just menus. It puts you more into the game I think. Granted you can just bring up the neocom (which I often do), but the live action thing is just really neat.
4. CHAOS! DUST matches can be utter eff-ing chaos! And LOVE that. It reminds me of MW2 when 8 killstreaks were in the air, and nades were flying and you had to really focus in order to be successful. DUST can have tanks, airships, larger enemy teams, and just a mix of orange and blue going nuts on the screen. I like that a lot.
5. Team playing option. I've always usually ran solo while playing FPS. (Hence is why I'm still part of a default corporation), but I've always been about working as a team and getting the WIN. I can do that in DUST if I want, or join a squad, or still be a solo team player. I carry a repair tool at all times now. I go for the most kills possible but still heal my teammates(great method to build WP btw).
6. KILLING AURUM players. To be honest, if i wasn't part of the beta and didn't 5million SP to start Uprising with, I would have quit DUST, because the grind is unrealistically feasible. But killing AURUM players with my standard DSes is the best reward to me in this game. Some moron who spent more money than the game would be worth on their character just to die by me is a great feeling. Its cold-hearted, I know.
7. Not a big one, but to some people it is. The leveling up(the "grind") of it. I know some people who only play games like CoD simply for the leveling up, once they hit max prestige, the game gets old in a hurry to them. DUST's grind is pretty much infinite. Truth be told, I'm almost to the end of what I really want to level up as far as skills in this game. So the grind aspect will be coming to end soon enough, but going back to reason 1, it won't get stale and repetitive like other FPSes. Maybe someday I'll branch off into a different DS, like Heavy or something. But I'm happy where I'm at. I only wish I didn't use any SP in shotguns in this game, as they are unrewarding for me.
As soon as i lowered my expectation of CCP and this game in general, I enjoy it far more. Simple as focusing on the positives, no matter how few of them there may be. |

I would say that Dust has delivered a number of unforgettable moments of pure awesome. The kind of moments you would expect to see in a game trailer, where a minute later you say "wow, that really just happened." Best part is, many of those moments were shared moments that came about as a result of good teamwork. |

No doubt! I watch the DUST trailers, and I see that the Cinematic stuff has actually happen in DUST. Like a wall of HMG Clones leveling the other team with explosions going off and things fly over head... that sh!t actually happens in DUST, not just in cut scenes |

You mentioned WIS (Walking In Stations). It was something of a fiasco for CCP, but I think they'll still build it someday. Part of the original idea was to have Pod Pilots and Mercs co-mingle, participate in a shared player market, and arrange actual merc contracts. I thought maybe some time after that they might add more advanced interactions, like battlefield commanders and observation decks where there might be gambling between random groups of mercs and pilots - who knows? For now we get space apartments. |

The one absolute thing I love about dust 514 is that your actions mattering.
I am not talking about the whole universe changing thing though that could happen down the road but the fact you are at that one spot at the right time with the right setup and skills.
and unlike so many other games there have been plenty of times it not just feeling like carrying the team or scoring the top, but enabling of the victory, that feeling is very immensely satisfying and Dust 514 has Constantly redelivered that feeling.
Last shooter to ever provide that to me ever? Halo Combat Evolved: Sidewinder CTF, Hostile team grabbed the flag and stole our warthog so my team had to take the shortcut to get to their base. I was mid point defense and saw the wart hog with the flag drive by, I aimed my rocket and fired and the two perfectly collided that blocked the entrance to their base, killed the entire warthog crew and my team was able to rescue the flag saving the game. I didn't score top kills on the End of Match Score screen but was still the MPV by the team's voting that round.
That my presence, and my actions enabled my team to win. |

This game has infuriated me more than any other shooter out there, after years of CoD and BF, i canme to DUST and in alot of matches ive become truely enraged at the game.... and i love it. this game invokes a kind of passion that no other shooter ever has. all the other shooters ive played, dying was a stat to be tracked, here... it angers me to no end because ive lost something tangible, something i worked for. and when i take something from someone else.... the feeling is unlike any other. New Eden is forever my home now. |

The skill system, the dropsuit customization, and the fact that every death(or kill) cause financial harm are literally the ONLY reasons I have not left this game for another game yet. Everything else is subpar to other shooters on the market imo. The game balance is the worst part of the game. Matches usually are akin to the German Blitzkrieg into France and it is a toss up on if you are the Germans or the French army(we surrender!). |

That feeling of "Oh, fu*k, fu*k, fu*k, fu*k" when I'm sniping and I hear an LAV I can't see on my radar.
That feeling of "Oh, fu*k, fu*k, fu*k, fu*k" when I'm sniping and a red guy shows up behind me on my radar. Just do it man, just do it.
That feeling of "Fu*k, yah!" when I hear that headshot sound.
Sniping anything running in the head, especially big fat proto heavies.
The customization.
The skill system, which is balanced.
Playing a sniper, which is balanced.
The passive SP system. That damn thing makes me keep coming back to see what new skills I can buy.
When I get a random pub match that has good teamwork.
Runnin' with my homies in SMC, Inc. Good guys all.

The universe is rich and interesting. Consumable assets is implemented very well. You can never beat the game, always something left to level up no matter how much you play. Walking in station, even if there's not much to it at the moment. RDVs, say what you want but I like that I can call a vehicle anywhere I want opposed to getting them at spawners. The chaos, oh the chaos. Battlefield moments? How about Dust 514 moments! The fitting screens allow more customization than any other FPS. Free to play without being pay to win.
So many things. Granted there are also many things I hate about Dust, but I remain optimistic (perhaps a little too much) that it will all be resolved. |

I most like the promise this game has, by design. It will be in constant development, there will constantly be things changing, people raging, fits of the month, and looking back to six months ago... it is an entirely different game now. I like the promise of the same thing happening every six months. Some like this, some hate it ... I love it. |

Have a disagreement...the 1st reason.
Why are landslide victories fun? I absolutely loathe them when one team gets red-lined. Landslide team balance is annoying in public matches. There should be an option to play with people in squads and people who solo and make only squads for the duration of the match. When I play with my corp and we are winning by a landslide either the enemy got pushed to the red-line or they are completely pushed to 1 letter and our MMC has barely taken damage the game becomes completely boring. I make my dude run somewhere, sit, and go do something else like get something to eat or switch to tv.
When either team gets red-lined my attention to the game is diminished. Back in closed beta when the enemy got red-lined I'd try and help the losing team by driving my decked out Sagaris inside their spawn area and let them have it. Just to put some action back in the rest of the map. |

I like matches that go down to the wire mostly. But sometimes, the game sets you up to basically get slaughtered. reminding you that there are times where no matter what you do, a war can't go your way every time. You surrender a lot of control, which keeps the game interesting. When a match starts its up to me to figure out analyze the situation, and get the best position. Battling out of an impossible situation can be rewarding and challenging. I don't mind losing, because eventually you acquire a death, or have a sh!tty game.
Its not fun being on the losing end of a landslide, but it makes you rethink and rebuild. |
