Yes I understand why people want it. It just seems odd, alongside all New Eden's tech, that a sniper needs prone for accuracy. Actually, come to think of it, prone wouldn't help with accuracy in Dust. The scope stabilizes after a few seconds. It would make the sniper harder to locate and hit. |

+1 for the idea for being given the ability to be prone. |

So you can just jump and your guy will not get hit and preform a cool animation.. cant jump that high especially heavy , now if u use jetpacks... |

Sure, it's about as stupid as someone complaining that they can't talk to someone in another country by yelling, but someone with a telephone can, but logic isn't the AR Ram-bro's strong suit.
I disagree.
If you used a two-stage feature (like pressing the crouch button twice) to go from standing to prone, it might make it easier to kill a sniper.
The game should make it a longer time to go from prone to standing than from crouch to standing. A longer time gives more risk when you are trying to run away or dodge.
This would give a better chance of a running player with shorter range weapons to nail us. It would make it easier for other snipers to nail us also.
This would be the tradeoff: smaller profile for increased risk when someone rushes you.

Also; Just imagine what a Mass Driver will do, it would be both impossible to dodge them and while not as tall, you make a bigger profile on the ground to get caught by AoE-blasts. |

+1 for Prone - makes sense that a soldier would have enough brains to not only reduce the risk of shot but allow him to gain an advantage in battle.
+1 for Vaulting - makes sense that a soldier would take a 1 foot step over a block of cement instead of standing there like an idiot and not moving.
+100 for jumping over LAVs like jackie chan! |

I was on a slope of a hill and I jumped over one, not without taking damage though. Sniping modules, anyone? |

+1 for giving away 102 Dalmatians
They really ARE working on vaulting (idk 'bout sliding) and the cloak DOESN'T make you 100% invisible.
I'm glad I finally decided to look at this thread as it's been a good read |

Make going prone a slow process and standing back up a slow process. That way people won't abuse it in the middle of a gun fight. |

P.S= They need to get around to making objects taller so that crouching behind them will actually protect you. |

Much as I love the idea of all of you laying down waiting for my dropship to fly over and drop missiles on you, I feel like going prone might not work in a high-health shooter like DUST. Just killing one person might take forever, because they'll be able to pop up, shoot, and then hide again when their health gets low.
I'd be up for experimenting with the idea, but there are a lot of other things I'd rather see implemented first. |

You've got a point actually Experiment first? I could see that as a way to gauge the value/abuse ratio I suppose. Great! Now I feel indifferent |
