In case you are unaware, Remote and Proximity mines are disappearing when tossed on the ground, I do not have more than the allowed amount on the ground they simply disappear, I am tossing them on solid ground and not on vents or screens, I believe a fix is in order, please to be working on this one too , Thanks CCP |

Hi there, we actually do have programmers working on the improvement of equipment deployment. but could you give me some more details on where you tossed the explosive? was it on the terrain, was it a slope or just flat ground? and just in the very unlikely case, if you were trying to toss it on a very steep terrain, or out of the playable area, it would self-destroy. |

For me it was consistently happening for sure at A on Spine Crescent and outside the CRU near B and C at Skim Junction. I think the STD mines were okay, but my ADV proximity mines always 'popped' as if I were putting new ones somewhere else. |

I usually plant them on flat concrete or in some cases just outside gates in the dirt but always on flat surfaces and mostly on what I perceive to be concrete, I usually toss them close together and am not sure if that is the issue, maybe they cancel each other out who knows? It doesn't sem to make a difference which map I am on it just seems to happen randomly and not all the time, hopefully this helps, if you need more info just ask and I will try to pay more attention when and where this happens, just know that I place them on flat ground always. Thanks CCP |

I have issues with them on flat surfaces mainly, they sometimes seem to flip to the side even though I stand still to deploy them. They don't seem to flip as much on slight slopes as long as I am facing towards them but it still happens occasionally. I place proximity explosives on entrances to complexes, sometimes dirt roads with a slight slopes in them, pretty much any choke point area. It's almost as if there is not any weight to the mines so they don't always land properly. |

I see this mostly on level'ish ground, around objective points (thats where 90% of mine get tossed). They land, pause for a second or two (perhaps while arming), then sizzle away. I haven't noticed any pattern to it. At the same objective one gets dropped, and self destructs, then i throw another and it sticks.
Just for clarification, on sloped surfaces, we are supposed to be able to drop them (with them tumbling/sliding) without them self destructing right? I haven't tried that before but from your comment i want to make sure that is something we can do. |

I have problems switching from REs to my weapon. if I want to aim, I can't for 2 seconds. my weapon disappeared once. Just tossing them and they break, like glass! I also find that if you sprint you cant detonate, or if you jump you can't detonate.. its's sluggish. I think Proto Res shoud survive a Std. flux, hell perhaps a ADV too. |

for me it can happen anywhere... usually smoothe terrain...at null cannons a lot... often at point A in spine cresent right in the spce where the hackinking node is |

Hi guys, thanks for all the info you provided. It is really helpful. When the RE disappears, do you see it gone with a small explosion/sizzle, or it is just gone, like literally disappears? For how our equipment works currently, once you have deployed one, it will first try slide down a slope if that is too steep. but if it still cannot find a good position to place itself by the time it thinks it should start work, or if it's in the unplayable area, it will self destroy. |

I've seen this with all the equipment but remote explosives are a little different, because of it's size they usually bounce when being thrown while moving or even standing if you throw them too far and I even get to see explosive get armed in a total 90-¦ position; about the sound I always hear it and always get back to put another one, I rarely use them in critical situations, only point security, that's is why it doesn't bother me much as long as I have ammo around but it is an issue nonetheless.
About point A in Spine Crescent I don't know if any of you have notice but that whole bridge has a weird structure anomaly where the equipment kinda floats, or for better terms hovers, above the physical ground and is difficult to get explosives exactly where you want them. |

Confirmed, no slide, and flat. Sizzle and pop, no disappear.
I'm wondering if they could possibly be taking damage on impact, as in possibly we are throwing them so hard that they take damage from the impact...? Will test dropping while jumping from a height. |

it fizzles out, the area is basically flat pavement, nothing unsafe there but the prox mine |

Confirming that fast maneuvering, especially strafing, seems to cause trouble. This is especially troublesome when I'm trying to drop a remote and get gone-- easily a 50% failure rate when time is pressing and I'm trying to work fast.
This is literally a life and death matter when the reason I'm trying to work fast is the HMG-heavy waddling around the corner. |

I see this a lot with proxies. They do the "sizzle" when being thrown down on completely flat ground (and otherwise, but flat ground as well). It can get to the point where you lose 50% of the proxies you throw down. If you were trying for full deployment, you'd be making three trips to a supply depot like that.
This is especially bad because vehicle drivers tend to expect them around supply depots if they expect them at all, and that's because of supply issues like this (losing a percentage of what you throw).
It doesn't make sense to run across the map with proxy mines when you might only have one that you throw that doesn't "poof". The hit detecting on them with fast-moving cars is dodgy to begin with, but a single mine pretty much never kills a car either... it makes a load of one pointless. |

The problem is nanohives, dropuplinks , remote explosives and proximity mines will only deploy if terrain smoothness is in a very small critical value.
Fixes: increase tolerance for uneven terrain value:
I.e. very bumpy ground, edge of steps, etc. and equipment deploy fails
Change value: " if deploy terrain is + or - 29% from vertical= destroy" New value : " if deploy terrain is + or - 75% from vertical= destroy"
This new value gives extra tolerance for uneven ground, terrain, steps, etc. for equipment deployment.
Hope that helps.

I use proximity mines a lot and most of the time they "pop" when they disappear. That being said, they do it on level ground -- it appears that when throwing them down they sometimes flip over and that's when it happens.
There have been times when the number of mines I think I've thrown down isn't the same as what I see on the ground. I can't say for sure what's the cause -- I've noticed that often the "deployment" button press doesn't get recognized so that could be it. You can't press the button too fast.

^What that guy said; got his post out before mine. Well played, well played... I've also noticed with REs that sometimes I will deploy them and they will flip over and sizzle out.
In a somewhat unrelated note, I was switching between my REs and main at some point and it glitched so that when I ran, it still showed my main and my left arm stuck out while I was running. Not a major issue, I just thought it was pretty cool. |

There is always a small explosion/sizzle. I know this with 100% certainty because i listen for that audio trigger to determine if the mine was placed correctly. Every time the RE failed to place properly, after its timer runs out it does an audible pop. |

Sorry for the slight high jack but all of you have more experience with RE and Prox since Uprising than I.
I had a lot of problems with Prox Mines at the start of Uprising, such that I gave up on them. Which I did not want to do. Are there requirements for Prox mines where you must stay in the Suit Type you used to deploy them with, much like REs? That might explain my problem.
Again, sorry for the high jack and for any possible advice. I would like to try them once again. |

Ok, here's some extensive information:
About one third of Proxies/REs fizzle when deployed, creating the 'sizzle' sound. Basic behavior is the same as with any other equipment, except the problem is far greater with these explosives. Behavior meaning the non-sloped terrain and upright with angle less than about 45 degrees.
I've found out that walking forward dramatically increases the chances of fizzling! Strafing and walking backwards are safer, the safest being standing still.
Even though the explosive model looks symmetrical and without any visible top side, they still have the top side. They being roughly symmetrical blocks make em roll often while deployed.
My theory is that if an explosive lands on it's top (upside down), it always fizzles.
Note that explosives function while sideways which is kinda surprising.
SUGGESTION: a) remove explosives requirement for having top upwards b) create a new model, perhaps disc shaped which won't roll |

It's everywhere. Even on flatground. Seen my advanced remote explosives fuse out more than normal remote explosives. Theres no reason to spec into prototype atm, as they're not viable. |
