RE is having the same disappearing act after being laid. I can't bait as well as I once could. |

After placing prox mines at least a few time each night, I can tell that the distance between the mines will play a role. (note: I only place my mines on flat surfaces, ie middle of the road most of the time) What I've noticed is that when placing mines very close next to each other, all but the first one will remain, the rest will sizzle. But, when placed at least a couple meters away from each other, they seem to stay put most of the time. Now, I'm only guessing here that maybe you can only have one or two mines within each other's splash damage radius? |

Happens to me a hell of a lot.
on flat concrete or terrain at gates etc. Seems to me that when they are thrown down they hit the ground then do a forward roll so they are upside down or standing upright and then explode 75% of the time.
Could adding additional weight to them so they fall down flat help
Area's that they auto dissapear for me are while playing domination Spine Crescent and I try and put them on the bridge for the LLAV whores to run into and die. Even with 10+ laid down (Proto, adv & basic) some of them still survive
Also on the gates on Communications Outpost mainly the one by the supply depot. |

About one third of Proxies/REs fizzle when deployed, creating the 'sizzle' sound. Basic behavior is the same as with any other equipment, except the problem is far greater with these explosives. Behavior meaning the non-sloped terrain and upright with angle less than about 45 degrees.
I've found out that walking forward dramatically increases the chances of fizzling! Strafing and walking backwards are safer, the safest being standing still.
Even though the explosive model looks symmetrical and without any visible top side, they still have the top side. They being roughly symmetrical blocks make em roll often while deployed.
My theory is that if an explosive lands on it's top (upside down), it always fizzles.
Note that explosives function while sideways which is kinda surprising.
SUGGESTION: a) remove explosives requirement for having top upwards b) create a new model, perhaps disc shaped which won't roll I've found that they do tend to roll when moving forward and sometimes they will roll if I angle my toss to high (even when I am standing still).
I've had my REs flip 180 degrees and still work, so I don't think they always fizzle when landing on their "top". Yes, one or two times I've placed them sideways and they still worked (did it with PMs, not REs). |

Instead of making an entirely new thread, wanted to at least get confirmation that CCP knows about the lag that happens before you switch to the RE screen. Quite a few kills ended up getting away because of this, and it's happened ever since 1.3. |

yea theres also a lag if you want to switch to your weapons, especially if you ADS. sometimes you cant ads for about 2 sec. but those 2 sec are important. |

CCP GeeDiiiiky wrote:Hi there, we actually do have programmers working on the improvement of equipment deployment. but could you give me some more details on where you tossed the explosive? was it on the terrain, was it a slope or just flat ground? and just in the very unlikely case, if you were trying to toss it on a very steep terrain, or out of the playable area, it would self-destroy. The detonation time now has a delay, also can't detonate after death now, And there is a unneeded delay between throwing down more than one explosive This needs attention |
