That could also be a issue. If there's 2 resets this week, 1 could cap out on wednesday, earning approx. 300K sp and than cap out using the reset on Thurs earning approx. 900K SP.

If i was to try to stay on the safe side and not play on Wed., it could mean losing out on 300K XP... which I obviously DO NOT want to do.

So here are the answers to questionis regarding the triple SP event.

1. The weekly SP cap will reset on Wednesday, July 3rd as usual after DT. If you hit your weekly in the first day then you will still be eligible for the extended SP cap for the event on Thursday. For example, if the weekly SP cap was 1000 and you hit the cap on Wednesday before the event starts, then on Thursday we will extend the weekly SP cap to 3000 so you will have an extra 2000 added to your weekly SP cap for the event. Of course, the number I used in the example is just an arbitray number and not the actual SP cap amounts in order to illustrate the point.

2. The passive SP gain and caps are not part of the triple SP event, so they will work normally.

3. Your extra SP earned from skill boosters do not count towards your weekly SP cap. For more info on that go to https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=74943&find=unread

And once again it is as clear as mud.

If it works like you say. Then the 1000 of the 3000 extended cap you got no bonus for the first thousand.

For example you cap out the first day as you suggested. Then you extend the cap to the triple amount everything you already capped got no bonus for?

Yes, the way I read this is if you play at all Wednesday, you're still screwing yourself. It appears that CCP has no control over this. It's either they don't care, or they can't change it. My assumptions are it's too hard to / they don't want to change any code revolving around server downtime and resets so their events are thrown sloppily on top of it all.

And they deal with the consequences. Is this result of Iceland/Shanghai cooperation, or communication or what?

actually acording to what they just posted you will earn the same amount of SP if you play on weds than if you skipped weds and started thurdsday

sp cap =1000
cap wed get 2000 added to your cap = 3000

dont play wed get sp cap of 1000*3 = 3000

either way you get 300% of your weekly cap

Made sense to me, granted still not much of a reason to play Wednesday since you'll be working longer than it would take if you just did it Thursday. For the posters above me, he explained it as this. Max cap is x. If you cap Wednesday, then you will have done 1/3 of x and on Thursday the other 2/3 of x will unlock. Granted Wednesday cap would be earned at normal speed but Thursday you would gain at 3 times the speed. Playing Wednesday doesn't hurt you, just doesn't earn as fast.

The total amount of extra SP from the Triple SP event that you can earn is the same whether you hit your cap on Wednesday or not.

In other words, you won't miss out on earning any extra skill points from the Triple SP event if you hit your weekly cap this Wednesday.

I think you are assuming that we only triple what is left in your weekly SP cap for the event, which is not the case. The amount of SP you earn on Wednesday will not affect the amount of extra SP cap available to you from the event.
