A Tesla gun that shoots a low rof bolt that tracks players based on how much shields they have. Higher shield hp will attract the gun.
A mortar cannon that allows you to rain projectiles. Some variants would be for infantry with a mass driver type rain and another would be a large round for vehicles.
Lmg with a scope that can be mounted down for non heavies.

Plasma Thrower, super large MD / Flaylock, charge up laser cannon (charge, fires a lazer blast for a few seconds, anti shield AV but works against infantry as well), some gun that uses electricity would be cool and maybe a morter gun (you hold R1, he then shows a path of projectile that arcs). a few way out there thoughts but WTH why not (don`t list the why not's). |

Yep, I figured Plasma Flamethrower would be an awesome Gallente weapon, too.
Amarr is trickier. Lazorz Gattlin seems like the easy choice, but I'd hate to see a ton of overlap between the Heavy weapons. I feel like each should be remarkably different.
What if it was something like a Laser Cannon? Picture this: Giant Shoop Da Whoop Laser Beam of Death. Good range, good damage, but once you pull the trigger it charges for 0.5 seconds, fires for 1.5 seconds uninterrupted, then cools down for 1.5 seconds.
Fun? OP? Imma Chargin My Laser? |

as cool as melee weapons sound, it would be too difficult to get in range to use battleaxes, warhammers, etc... besides, my HMG disposes most scouts easily... and a melee weapon wouldn't help take out the good ones...
however, i've been playing saints row lately, so the heavy/flamethrower combo should work beautifully in dust...

In the past month and a half or so I've gotten more melee kills then in the last 2-3 builds combined. It usually happens while I'm trying to reload my hmg. I can only imagine the thinking "fatty is reloading time to get real close to get a good couple of shots off OH GOD HE'S RUSHING ME (smack!) OWWW THAT HURTS (smack!) OWWW THAT HURTS AS, damn... I'll spawn over there."
So yeah, battle axe. Or chainswords like WH40k... |

bit off topic but always thought a laser shotgun that worked like the "arc charger" from resistance would be good ie when a target is hit beam jumps to another target up to a set number |

a plasma launcher that launches 3-5 hybrid rounds that explode on impact. one round in the clip. getting hit would usually mean 1-2 grenades damaged you. effective vs vehicles if direct hits.
a pulse beam with varying crystals you could reload during battle. crystals would range from short to med to long range and do poor damage outside of their optimals. the more you overheated the higher the damage to the crystals. reload time to swap would be long.

Amarr Heavy Missile Launcher.
It fires a salvo of missiles, but each missile also has a laser gun attached to the nose. Laser gun fires continuously as the missiles approach, lowering shields for maximum effect of the explosive warheads. Further you are from the target, the longer the lasers fire, meaning you do more damage from farther away. |

What about something beyond the current tech (in DUST of course)? I thought on something like a tesla coil that sends lightning bolts that jump from every metall to another so you can vary its range a bit by using the environment.
Or a weapon that does damage over time? I thought on a weapon that shoots a large bolt that injects nanites to the hitten object and creates some kind of nanite cloud that damges everyone who enters it. If you hit a vehicle the passengers are also affected by it. The cloud and the nanites vanish after 20-30 seconds and fast driving could let them vanish too.
I also thought on a heavy sniper rifle similar to an Anti Tank Rifle. It should have kinda FMJ to pierce through armor and shield and then damage passengers. The damage to Shield and Armor are just low but it could do about 100-150 damage to the passengers and thus be suited to take them out and take over the vehicle.
Another nice gun would be a flak. Not much to say here just a normal flak.

Mother of God. You have no Idea how much that would screw up my day.
If so, it better have a range of about 10m. I would hate to see people abusing a gun that could hurt you even when you aren't still being shot at. |

These are real world weapons that can be used in this game buy the heavy and the development wouldn't be that difficult.

As far as coding the weapon you would just have to take the missile turret or railgun turret and up the rate of fire for the portable for the rpg Now if you are going to do the air burst you would have to modify the code for the proximity mine for infantry changing the ammo can use one the slots that the heavy already comes equipped with this weapon could effectively be designed and ready for testing inside of 1 week by whomever made the code for the weapons I said to base it off of above

Any thoughts? That sounds like the second suggestion I gave on the first page. I'd fully support such a weapon, but having it in the H slot would be more viable. A sidearm would mean that the weapon would not be a Heavy specific item. On the other hand, a heavy shield could be used in conjunction with a decent sidearm and would allow the Heavy to play a defense role: temporarily serving as cover for teammates. |

I feel that such a shield should only be deployed whilst in a more defensive stance while also limiting mobility, hence crouching. It would only suppress frontal damage but still make the player vulnerable to splash, back, and side damage.
Due to its deployment as a primary weapon, it would mean that a sidearm could not be used simultaneously with the shield, but if somehow grenades could be thrown while in the shield's cover, it would provide some attacking power to a heavily defense-based role. To shell out some other ideas, I feel it necessary that the shield come with an overheating/HP threshold. When that threshold is surpassed due prolonged use or through concentrated fire, a cool-down animation twice the length of an overheated HMG should take effect. This, of course will make the Heavy vulnerable if he or she cannot find cover due to the inability to run or change out weapons, but the idea could work and be refined to create a weapon that is neither under or overpowered whilst having a clear function and purpose. |

I like the AOE/anti-shield weapons mentioned. Wouldn't need it if the HMG wasn't so nerfed. Maybe some kind of penetrating projectile or something that can hurt groups of enemies at a time, so heavies don't get stuck injuring enemies down to a sliver of health before their buddy steps in to take damage (repeat until death). |

I know AV laser is supposedly in the works. But i'd like to see it be a DoT weapon thats exponential. This one would be a modified frigate laser that uses suit shield power to pump energy through the crystal. Im gonna do a post in feedback/requests later. Picking a number (i havent done the math yet) it does double its previous damage every tenth of a second (ie 1 2 4 8 16). The drawback? It eats you shields, it should only take around 3 or 4 sec to deplete your shield. If you let it eat your shield upon shield drain it causes 200 feedback damage. |
